One trick you can use is when getting back on stage with forward b. If you and fairly even with the stage when you perform it, the lag is very minimal and can set up for a few attacks. One more is if you perform the forward b and don't slash the sword, it makes an easy set up for neutral ground attacks and possibly smash attacks. Just my 2 cents on a few things I use.

I found a technique, at least I think it is one. You'll need to B-stick for this technique, but basically you can reverse aether and quickdraw's attacks to the other side but it is kinda hard. It's possible to do it without B-Sticking but, I found that B-sticking makes it easier.

Ike doesn't need techniques, he prepares himself the right way to fight for his friends, and allong with that he doesn't give sympathy, so hell just smash you to death!

there is one little trick thingy ike has tough with his side+B

if the slide is ended, and you hit nothing, you can use your neutral A combo right away without delay, pretty handy against people who only think about evading the dash itself

There plenty of advance technigue ethering at the edge to send an opononent down. Ethering to counter Marths final smash and powerful knockout blows, his charging flame attack to do the same thing * i forgot the technical wording. Advance re-entry on to the field like a down , then up charged dash. shortening you air combo times...there very effective if you practice.

1 jab lock

2 grabcombo ( not a chaingrab)

3 edgeguard ( charging b at the end of an edge)

4 edgehanging

5 stage sliding ( i dunno , the name isnt corrrct^^)

Spiking and Meteor Smashing are two whole concepts. Meteor Smashes are attacks that Nintendo put into characters, making the hitbox lead directly downwards (most Dair attacks, for instance); Spikes are attacks that have downward-related hitboxes, but are not considered meteor smashes.

The biggest difference, however, is that from meteor smashes, you can do a fast recovery, but you can't for spikes. Think back to Meele and the overly-used Fox Down-B spikes.
