Science and Religion: Is there a conflict? === . Can a Rational Individual believe in God ? In other words: Can God be atheist, governed by scientific laws? Of course Why? Because if God exists, he must work in an Absolute Reference Frame and have a set of Physical and Mathematical laws to create everything And we can find and understand this Gods Absolute House and when we can find and understand these Cods Physical Laws
Thats very interesting... and i do not disagree. But in the concept of our human science and mathematics it seems as if we are far behind using any of these fields to grasp anything near god. But if we had extra terrestrial we could be closer. Who knows if it would reach gods "physical and mathematical laws". Do some more research before you mouth off a ton of bile and bullshit, you ignorant fuck!
@craigMellow Oh yeah, and it is Buddhism that calls for death, this state desired you call "nirvana" is nothingness , therefore that's more like Death , and Samsara is more like life , do you get my point bud? And contrary, if the mind is everyhing, then that means i could make a universe which bad things were good and good things were bad, vice verca,
@craigMellow Islam doesn't and never ruin humanity. Media brainwahsed your brain to make Islam looks bad. Call for the death of unbelievers? Where did you get that funny fact? Oh media.
heres something interesting about ISLAM and what we muslims know regarding the universe and its physics, paralell dimensions and beings -read article "Quantum Islam" by Dr Kevin J. Barrett also check out Gordon Creighton's essay: The True Nature Of The 'UFO Entities and Jay Alfreds
Jinns plasma aliens from a parallel Earth. and you'll soon discover ISLAM'S authority and unlimited knowledge on everything seen and unseen.
only on the things that are interpretable by the individual and or mankind according to the everyday evolution of his complex/capacity. The Holy Quraan is much more then just a mere book.(did you not read the article"physics confirm quraanic worldview") this is not circular reasoning history proves otherwise...
Islam did not discover the electron mass, but would you have discovered this electron mass had it not been for ISLAM involvement in revitalising science, maths, etc with its knowledge during your dark ages
I think you're confusing the difference between Islam revitalizing science and the middle east revitalizing science. There is in fact a distinction there. It wasn't Islamic priests that got science back up and running, it was mathematicians and scientists that happened to live in predominately Muslim regions.
The people who developed the atomic bomb were mostly Christians... do we say that Christians invented the A-bomb?
dark ages are when idots cry allahu fukbar and fly planes into tall buildings. when they blow up them selves in lodon in the name of non-existing allah (stupid god who created us with 10,000) diseases-wow! whata perfect creation).
Interesting you to mention fairy tales... but still believe that the 'idiots who cry allahu fukbar fly planes into tall buildings', just because it's an official story.
nobody in the world had flew into a tall building in the name of Buddha....in fact Buddha is not god....he will not get you to heaven (if such thing existed at all ) because you died for him...
@lunalamin Something I've noticed. Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism seem to be centered around "spiritual growth", whereas the western Abrahamic religions seem to be more centered around the obedience towards a god. i.e. control and fear. With that said, Eastern religions are certainly more compatible with scientific discovery e.g. their principles refer to evolution rather than creation and their experience with the nature of reality with quantum mechanics.
You seem to know such little knowledge of Buddhism. Don't tell me, you believe what that amazingatheist said about Buddhism. Ha! He is a retard when it comes to Buddhism. XD
I'm thinking that the Bush, and all that New World Order movement, and people inside of those illuminati, masonic, buildberberg group, etc.. crashed in tall buildings. Certainly not buddhists and shit.
So I replied to craig sarcastically, thinking that.
Of course, I don't support organized religions in any way, but buddhism is not a religion, nor is yoga that I'm fond of.. so I'm closer to buddhism then to atheism or theism.
@4unitedMAN If Islam did indeed revitalise science then how come scientific contributions from Islamic societies have always declined steadily? Also, how come some of the pre-Islamic Greek scientific-fallacys are also contained in the Qur'an? (E.g. semen being produced in the spine.) Seems a remarkable coincidence for two sources to share common mistakes don't you think?
The golden age you speak of happened because the Caliphate was triumphant and tolerant of differentr cultures - it was Greeks and Persians and all kinds of philosophers of every religion who made the golden age you speak of.
It was not Islam but the tolerant Calphate which made that possible.
The Islam of today is a bastard child of the original - and it is intolerant and backward - the retarded shit that comes from Saudi - not the wisdom of the ancients. Learn some fucking history.
While Grupp, I think, is correct in asserting that "ordinary reality" is full of absurdities, I don't see how his "ulimate reality" fairs any better. It's easy to reject time, space, and matter because you can't provide a consistent description of its nature, but the alternative is a seeming impossibility: how do you construct a world out of utter motionless, random, immateriality? It seems that his philosophy is very extreme, I can see why Buddhism on the whole is contrary to his perspective.
Well, you start right off telling us not to use what science has taught us. proofs of the inner workings of the atom must be ignored for your philosophy to work..thats not good.
Not at all, he's asking you to consider the word as it was first used:
(quoted from wikipedia)
"In approximately 450 BCE, Democritus coined the term átomos (Greek: ἄτομος), which means "uncuttable" or "the smallest indivisible particle of matter", i.e., something that cannot be divided. Although the Indian and Greek concepts of the atom were based purely on philosophy, modern science has retained the name coined by Democritus."
I clearly understand what your comment says because I am a big fan of Democritus. So I am sure that you also know that science, even though its cradle was philosophy, has gone beyond such boundaries. Science no longer depends on philosophy for its core because we have machinery that can view things we could only theorize about in the past. In other words, philosophy is good. But 100% philosophy is bad science, or at least not modern science.
I completely agree that relying on philosophy 100% of the time and not looking beyond it is not a wise idea. In that same respect, I'm beginning to wonder if cutting philosophy out of science (100% science) is also an unwise move. There is a text by the current Dalai Lama entitled "The Universe in a Single Atom: The Convergence of Science and Spirituatlity", and he explains this in a far less rambling way than the gentleman in this video. I recommend it if you'd like a more in depth explanation.
Ah, of course I find the quote I was looking for after I've posted, but Einstein pretty much sums up my earlier ramblings in a far more succinct manner:
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."
Oh yeah, you are correct. Philosophy can never be wholly severed from science nor should it be. I was discussing the era when science was pretty much 100% philosophy, and thats not good. I think its a great thing for any science minded indivdual to learn philosophy because it is the history of science for so long.
Might I also remind you that we now know, from his most recent revealed letters, that Einstein was an atheist who considered belief in a god to be childish. Budhists agree?
I thought atoms were just empty space, physical matter is an illusion

Do some more research before you mouth off a ton of bile and bullshit, you ignorant fuck!

@craigMellow Oh yeah, and it is Buddhism that calls for death, this state desired you call "nirvana" is nothingness , therefore that's more like Death , and Samsara is more like life , do you get my point bud? And contrary, if the mind is everyhing, then that means i could make a universe which bad things were good and good things were bad, vice verca,
BeamSurfer 1 year ago

Can Islam tell me the charge on an up quark?
SolMaster 2 years ago
(proportion of e; +2/3)
wow, these "subatomic principals"are really really usefull to my daily godless existence! lol!
4unitedMAN 2 years ago
So, you're saying that Islam has unlimited knowledge, but only on the things that "are useful"? I'm sensing some circular reasoning here.
Did Islam discover the electron mass?
SolMaster 2 years ago
unlimited knowledge, yes
but
only on the things that are interpretable by the individual and or mankind according to the everyday evolution of his complex/capacity. The Holy Quraan is much more then just a mere book.(did you not read the article"physics confirm quraanic worldview") this is not circular reasoning history proves otherwise...
4unitedMAN 2 years ago
Islam did not discover the electron mass, but would you have discovered this electron mass had it not been for ISLAM involvement in revitalising science, maths, etc with its knowledge during your dark ages
4unitedMAN 2 years ago
I think you're confusing the difference between Islam revitalizing science and the middle east revitalizing science. There is in fact a distinction there. It wasn't Islamic priests that got science back up and running, it was mathematicians and scientists that happened to live in predominately Muslim regions.
The people who developed the atomic bomb were mostly Christians... do we say that Christians invented the A-bomb?

dark ages are when idots cry allahu fukbar and fly planes into tall buildings. when they blow up them selves in lodon in the name of non-existing allah (stupid god who created us with 10,000) diseases-wow! whata perfect creation).
grow up! arent you get tired of fairy tales??;)
craigMellow 2 years ago 9
Interesting you to mention fairy tales... but still believe that the 'idiots who cry allahu fukbar fly planes into tall buildings', just because it's an official story.
trzalica 2 years ago
nobody in the world had flew into a tall building in the name of Buddha....in fact Buddha is not god....he will not get you to heaven (if such thing existed at all ) because you died for him...
lunalamin 2 years ago 21
@lunalamin Something I've noticed. Eastern religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism seem to be centered around "spiritual growth", whereas the western Abrahamic religions seem to be more centered around the obedience towards a god. i.e. control and fear. With that said, Eastern religions are certainly more compatible with scientific discovery e.g. their principles refer to evolution rather than creation and their experience with the nature of reality with quantum mechanics.

@lunalamin buddha is dead so he can't help you in life or afterlife since in buddhism there is no hypothesis of an afterlife

You seem to know such little knowledge of Buddhism. Don't tell me, you believe what that amazingatheist said about Buddhism. Ha! He is a retard when it comes to Buddhism. XD

Why you all attacking me ?
I'm thinking that the Bush, and all that New World Order movement, and people inside of those illuminati, masonic, buildberberg group, etc.. crashed in tall buildings. Certainly not buddhists and shit.
So I replied to craig sarcastically, thinking that.
Of course, I don't support organized religions in any way, but buddhism is not a religion, nor is yoga that I'm fond of.. so I'm closer to buddhism then to atheism or theism.
So quit attacking me already :)

C0C0nutFace 1 year ago
@4unitedMAN

The easiest way to tell that this guy is a quack is that he says that an atom is an electron. 'Nuff said.
Arodinme6 3 years ago
While Grupp, I think, is correct in asserting that "ordinary reality" is full of absurdities, I don't see how his "ulimate reality" fairs any better. It's easy to reject time, space, and matter because you can't provide a consistent description of its nature, but the alternative is a seeming impossibility: how do you construct a world out of utter motionless, random, immateriality? It seems that his philosophy is very extreme, I can see why Buddhism on the whole is contrary to his perspective.

hes my favorite professor that ive had so far
g0dEATg0d 3 years ago
Well, you start right off telling us not to use what science has taught us. proofs of the inner workings of the atom must be ignored for your philosophy to work..thats not good.
reverendjeremiah 3 years ago
Not at all, he's asking you to consider the word as it was first used:
(quoted from wikipedia)
"In approximately 450 BCE, Democritus coined the term átomos (Greek: ἄτομος), which means "uncuttable" or "the smallest indivisible particle of matter", i.e., something that cannot be divided. Although the Indian and Greek concepts of the atom were based purely on philosophy, modern science has retained the name coined by Democritus."
FaraPhoenix418 3 years ago 2
I clearly understand what your comment says because I am a big fan of Democritus. So I am sure that you also know that science, even though its cradle was philosophy, has gone beyond such boundaries. Science no longer depends on philosophy for its core because we have machinery that can view things we could only theorize about in the past. In other words, philosophy is good. But 100% philosophy is bad science, or at least not modern science.
reverendjeremiah 3 years ago
I completely agree that relying on philosophy 100% of the time and not looking beyond it is not a wise idea. In that same respect, I'm beginning to wonder if cutting philosophy out of science (100% science) is also an unwise move. There is a text by the current Dalai Lama entitled "The Universe in a Single Atom: The Convergence of Science and Spirituatlity", and he explains this in a far less rambling way than the gentleman in this video. I recommend it if you'd like a more in depth explanation.
FaraPhoenix418 3 years ago
Ah, of course I find the quote I was looking for after I've posted, but Einstein pretty much sums up my earlier ramblings in a far more succinct manner:
"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."
FaraPhoenix418 3 years ago
Oh yeah, you are correct. Philosophy can never be wholly severed from science nor should it be. I was discussing the era when science was pretty much 100% philosophy, and thats not good. I think its a great thing for any science minded indivdual to learn philosophy because it is the history of science for so long.
Might I also remind you that we now know, from his most recent revealed letters, that Einstein was an atheist who considered belief in a god to be childish. Budhists agree?
