Adding an enormous amount of RAM to your pc will slow it down, not speed it up. It'll be an extra loading on the motherboard that will make memory-intensive programs quicker in the long-term but will forsake responsiveness for better endurance.

@realnigga444 yeh thats the noob way, i h8 people who think they are smart downloading or buying utiliies are running them, you do it like a man in the registry, you defrag using the tools that windows provide you with because is nigh impossible to do it manually, and when you do it like this, you know you have absolute control over your PC

i have 32 bit windows Xp, my pc finally detects it thanks to this (sounds a little weird i know, but vista first did not detect that i had 4 gigs)

you sure it's 32 bit? 32 bits OS can only detect 3 point something gigs the highest wile 64 can detect 4 gigs and up. Anyway my new computer (laptop) is 64 bit (Vista), 2.00 dual core, 4 gigs of memory. I have a new youtube account called "IWEBProductions" and there is where I'm posting computer videos. No my keyboard has never locked up, i think i know how to take care of my computer. Actually my computer is a lot faster than the first time i got it. I just hate when you get a new laptop and they put all these unnecessary junk on it. CCleaner, TuneupUtilities 2009 and many tweaks including some with the registry made it much better. Yet i'm still disappointed with the vista, that's why i want windows 7 to hurry up and make a final release

The first tip or the second tip? The first tip doesn't deal with any numbers. If you are talking about the resolution then you may want to degrade it to 800 x 600 just for the little extra speed but really I do not suggest it because it makes your desktop look big and ugly. I'm not sure if you're into making your desktop look worse for a lil improved performance but i'm someone who would increase performance to an extent without making my desktop ugly.

It's effects will be minimal, meaning you mightn't notice any or much of a change if you perform these steps. what you may need is more memory, in order for you to experience smooth gaming you must at first read it's system requirements.

And the system requirements for surpreme commander is:

1.8 GHz processor; 512 MB RAM; 128 MB video RAM;

So if you meet these requirements or have even better specs everything should run smoothely, if not then something is wrong

I think it's basic common sense that the theme also slows your computer a bit, but i rather to have my theme rather than an old classic 95 looking one so i keep the last one checked. And i believe most persons feel the same way.
