  • you are great!!

  • hi - I just did a search and found your blog information

I wonder, since I am new to this blog - do you have more current blogs as well?

    Thank you for your work

  • u r asome

  • Liz, you are doing a great thing! Keep it up! I have a brilliant son with bipolar and if you break down the stigma against mental illness you'll be helping my son! Bless you!

  • Warm wishes of the very best of luck to you. I've always thought that the mentally ill are going to be the last minority group given basic human rights in this country.

    I'm subscribing to your videos.

  • Hi Liz,

Saw you on Huf Post. My wife is leaving me today. I have PTSD and severe depression. I drink wine to deal. ( I know, but it beats electroshock therapy). I wish you well and look forward to your posts.

    Ken

  • Thank you so much for making videos like this-- it makes it so much easier to deal with a mood disorder when I know that I'm not alone. You're a gem, Liz... :)

  • You're adorable, let's go on a date. We can talk about our anti-depressants.

  • yep like it

  • So beautifully childish though literate and eloquent, you are. You remind kind of me of Iggy Pop. Except you wear shirts.

  • Hi Liz,

I just watched your Video Diaries and have to say that its so sedative and refreshing at the same time. I think its so awesome how you are destigmatizing the media about bipolar illness and raising conscious awarness with your lovely voice and looks. I personally would like to invite you as a friend on my windows live space: genestar dot spaces dot live dot com

    Cheers,

    Gene

  • I started blogging about my mental illnesses both as an outlet for myself, and to raise awareness to everyone else that we dont all need to be in straightjackets and rooms with padded walls. To see you, a functioning member of society who is able to hold down a job and support herself, makes me feel really good. I'm struggling right now to stay in college. I hope I get get to that place of stability too one day soon!

  • Thank you so much for posting! I think it's amazing when people want to raise awareness the way you do. Is your blog public? If so, please post the address.

  • My written blog isnt public, but my videos are. I pretty much discuss the same thing in both.

  • Great video - very courageous!

  • I just stumbled across you through cocoanino's page. I'm really glad I did. My nephew has bipolar and ADDHD. My sister has been butting heads with the health care system in our state for years trying to get him proper help and keep him out of jail which is where they really wanted to put him. Ironically enough she's pretty high up in the HHS dept. That only gave her some insight in to how they operate (or don't more accurately).

  • So yes you have another person who'll be with you as long as you care to do this. My best wishes to you.

  • I just stumbled here a day ago, and like what you're trying to do. :)

  • It worries me when you say you were 'cruising for a bruising' No one deserves to be hurt like that ever. But you are brave to tell us how you need to tell. Good luck with your quest to engage in a real dialogue here. I am curious about how it will be for you.

  • maybe she just meant things NEVER go that smoothly in life without something happening to get in the way?

  • That's the way I took it too.

  • Everyone should read Paulo Coelhos "Veronika decide morrer" ("Veronica wants to die"). It doesn't sound very good, I know. But it is... (It's all about mental illness)

  • as long as you make a videos I willl watch them.

  • I think this is a good driection.

  • Spikols you know me I give it to you raw. I was taken back with the excessive use of foul language. Other than that I will forgo any further comment.

  • Hi again Liz, So nice to see the "real" Liz Spikol, but so sorry for all the rest. I will continue to subscribe and so will many others, so don't worry about entertaining. You will help and inform many...which will be entertaining. I grew up near Oberlin...Just be you girl. Thanks! tim

  • No need for me to hit the unsubscribe button. I will take the ride wherever you want to go. But doggone it, with a video like this, you make it real hard for me to leave a smart-aleck, funny comment. ;) that is all i know. i am very one-dimensional. hehe

  • i'm a case manager in philly and i'm touched daily by stories like yours. i see the worst of the worst in terms of mental illnesses and hospitals in this city, and i've struggled myself.

i love your blog and i love your videos. whichever direction they take i know i'll be watching.

  • oh! and i thought of you one day recently (creepy?) because i saw an old friend who has moved to philadelphia (and was home visiting) and she started talking about the philadelphia weekly and how all her friends grab it as soon as they see it!

  • Not creepy at all! In fact I was just talking to my boss about you today, trying to explain why your videos are so fun to watch (he's still trying to figure out why YouTube is a good idea). Anyway, tell your friend to get in touch and I'll show her the sights.

  • i actually just started reading your blog for the first time earlier this week, and was kind of blown away by that...i've always liked your videos but i was seriously touched by the blog (i started w/ 9/11).

i'm not even really really sure what to say now except i think you're doing a great thing, and i think you're incredibly inspiring.
