I've heard the legend of the blonde hair in the plant, and have even made a jolly convincing photo fake of it. Apparently it did not make it into the final film. It wasn't on the DVD. I think there are rumors of people claiming to have seen it, but I think they're lying.
I read that Herman Cohen said something like "She was a pretty girl, and I thought it would be fun to see the plant eat her." -or something like that. I always felt short- changed that they cut away, besides, the plant didn't seem quite big enough to eat her all the way. It was an oversized version of the ever-popular venus flytrap.
What I read was there was a scene that was deleted that showed the plant with blonde hair coming out of it's mouth indicating it completely ate her but they cut it out because they thought it was too gruesome.
me too -- we see her arm get caught at first, then cut away and cut back to see the plant sucking her into it. But we never get to see her fully consumed. For years I wondered if the plant won or if konga's shattering the greenhouse saved her (due to the dangerous sudden drop the temperature Dr. Driscoll makes such a big deal about earlier on). I guess we'll never know. But the folks who show up appear not to have found her, so I suppose the plant's last meal was a hearty one.
RIP Michael Gough; even in junk like this you were a classy, classy man.

I like the part where the girl gets eaten by the plant. :-)
