  • Also, at all times, guinea pigs need access to clean fresh water, and don't forget about VITAMIN C, and lots of LOVE... they will reciprocate 10,000x.

  • It is a matter of life or death for guinea pigs to have unlimited access to a good quality hay. My little big friend loves his timothy hay made by Oxbow. Lack of hay in diet leads to deadly teeth overgrowth (malocclusion). I know of very few veterinarians who can treat it successfully. So remember, save your guinea pig with UNLIMITED access to grass HAY. Also, give them FRESH GRASS, they love it. Supplement all with good quality grass pellets, and fresh vegetables.

  • I love it !!!!!!!!!! Want to see p 2 :D

  • I don't know what I just watched but it was soo cute :3

  • THIS VIDEO IS PEACEFUL! :)

  • Delightful vieo! Appropriate for both young and old.

  • @brendagailyoung

Thanks very much for your kind comment - I (and the Guinea Pig) are honoured to be the only images on your site.

  • so ADORABLE! i have watched this like 10 times xD

  • @piggyluv1325 Thanks - I wish I had known you when I made this video as you seem to know a LOT about Guinea Pigs and obviously look after them well.

  • Its sooo cute but one of the facts is wrong, they bite fingers and food. I have a guinea pig aswell and he bites!!

  • this is so so so soooo cute!

  • Cool! i didn't know that guinea pigs eat salt.

  • wow this is so cool!:)

  • With a built in friend made me laugh

  • cool!

  • no the guinea pigs fight, i have 3 males and they fight like crazy!

p.s sorry for my bad english.

  • This is a verry nice cartoon!

  • The care is really inaccurate but it is a cute video. Rabbits can't live with guinea pigs, salt licks can cause them to become dehydrated, and too many fruits and veggies can make them sick. But I know That you can't change that and i just want to educate people

  • Guinea pigs can live with rabbits though.

  • no actually if rabbits get annoyed by a guinea pig they can kick with their back legs and injure and even kill a guinea pig.

  • Yeah they can, but unlike rodents like rats or hamsters they don't eat them at sight. My rabbit becomes a rapist at springtime though, we usually keep them separated then.

  • Well some of the care advice is inaccurate but the video is absolutely adorable!!!!

  • This is beyond adorable, I keep watching it on and off all day.

  • Thanks - so glad you liked this series . I REALLY liked the soundtrack to the version of"Lady of Shalott" that you have favourited. I wish I'd had THAT as a track for my own animated "Lady of Shalott" - it is just so atmospheric and right for the poem.

  • i never new to brush them!

  • How sweet! I really enjoyed this video.

One thing though, we have had guinea pigs for 5 years now and it's our understanding that oats are not what they eat in the wild so we have never given it to them. Also vitamin C is required daily because they *like humans* cannot retain it.

  • This is so cute. I love it!

  • soooooooooooooo cute :)

  • Tanx - loved your chin tickling toooo!

  • i just loved!!!

  • This is soooo ADORABLE! :D

  • I loved this but there was some wrong info. Like guinea pigs dont have good eyesight at all.. its believed they can only see about a meter in front of them

  • Yes but they are the only rodents that CAN see in color .. maybe thats what they mean :S

  • Wow, I really love this animated short!

Quite charming and cute, in a nostalgic kind of way :)

  • That wuz depressing

  • why ?

  • awsome really loved it

    Cute animations!

  • Good animation work! Talented. Guinea pigs shouldn't eat seeds, nuts and grains unless free-ranging. Calories too concentrated for the amount of exercise they get if living indoors, even in big cage. Stick with veggies and pellets. And no salt!!

  • Gorgeous art. Very gorgeous. I loved the "I have no tail" shot. LOL!

I realize this is sort of a simplistic general pet care video... but there's so much wrong information in it. Please read guinealynx, a fabulous website, before spreading more misinformation to well-intentioned cavvy owners. Thanks.

  • Thanks for that info - as you gather I am just an animator and was/am NOT an expert on looking after Guinea Pigs - I relied on those who gave me the info..and a friend who DID keep Guinea Pigs. Hopefully the site you direct folks too will help them and Guinea Pigs.

  • dddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyddddddddddddddddddddyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxgggggggggggggggggggieeece fffffffffffvifffffffffffffffffffffffffffsdio!

  • Aw! That was so cute ^^

  • Amazing Animation. I like your Stil.

It is a pity that today's animators and cartoonist don't use this kind of animation anymore.

All of the "I [animal]"serie is nice.

  • I love your video. It's so cute. I love when the Piggie tries to go threw things and you see the round furry behind having trouble getting threw. That is so sweet. I hope you make more. Thanks.

  • thanks for that - loved the carrot eating hamster on your site!

  • Wow, amazing! Did you make this?

    Its wonderful!

Though, guinea pigs actually shouldnt have a soult stone.. its actually no good. Its more close to bad.

And.. sometimes (rare) they can get a long with dogs or cats.

I even know some people who's cat & guinea pig are friends.

Well, once again; I loved this!! amazing.

  • Great job,! :D

  • thanks caroline - loved your dancing guineA PIG-CUTE OR WHAT !!-SHEILA

  • Excellent video. I'm really impressed!

  • Thanks Megan-having looked at your own site I would say that YOU know a LOT more about animals than me because your knowledge is FiRST HAND. I was asked to make this series for TV by producers who knew I liked animals-I then researched by studying animals and asking questions of people who kept them I only REALLY know about cats!

  • Thsi is a really good seiries of videos - i love them, you clearly know quite a lot about animals! like me! xx

  • coooooooooooooooool. butt the cat preditor bitt is untrue!

  • Really glad to hear that thanks-I have always had cats at home - but no Guinea Pigs-only got info from a friend of mine who keeps them and books-wish I'd known YOU when I made the series years ago! Cheers to you and the Guinea pIgs - Sheila

  • As for predators:

Our cat is deadly afraid of our guinea pigs

  • This is so adorable :-) Nice job!

  • im sure those guinea pigs just jumped from south america to the rest of those continents.

  • nice video how did you make it

  • Thanks - I made it by making sketches of guinea pigs from real life, then animating them on a "light Box" at 12 drawings per second. These drawings were then traced onto plastic "cels" with ink and painted on the back and filmed with a cine camera. This is way Disney used to do his cartoons in the past. Now you could use a computer program- I think you'd be good at it. Loved your own Chinchilla's and their Dandelion!

  • they arent guinea pigs they are cuys, great animation very cute.

  • What a great video, the drawings and animation is wonderful! Great advice too. The only negative thing is that I personally wouldn't mix Guinea Pigs with other animals. Even a rabbit as they have very strong, powerful back legs that could accidentally hurt a Guinea Pig.

Well done with the video though, you deserve alot of credit!

  • OMG!! i have guinea pigs and my name is jackie. and i agree with no rabbits. i guess its okay to leave them with supervision, but keeping them together for a long time without any watchful eyes is a big chance.

  • This is a great video!!! Thank you, it warms my heart! Anyone who wish to keep a guinea pig should watch this!

  • I thought guinea pigs were nearly blind O-o

  • from the front

they cant see anything right directly infront of them or directly behind them. but they can see very well in right and left and above.

  • Well, I guess that makes sence seeing as where their eyes are :P

  • You cant beat the 80's

  • THIS IS COOL!!!

  • Thanks from the Guinea Pig and me!

  • I wish I'd known you when I made the series way back in the 80's!! I've looked at your site and you are just spot on about guinea pigs and their cages..cheers

  • Thats not a good guinea pig cage...

  • is more near of the original way they live in peru, they love space and move, they are fast, also they eat dry bread is good for they teeths.
