  • this is the same amp and im playing a jay turser les paul copy and my tone is so much thicker than this. . . check it out in my vids

  • why do you play the same riff all the time ? i get fucking tired!

  • Comment removed

  • @MetallicaLovern81 he lets us hear how the amp sounds with different settings, not how good or bad he plays

  • how this amp works with analog pedals?? i have a boss ds-1

  • its all about personal taste guys, depends on what sound you want tbh..

  • I like to crank my Marshall for practice volumes XD

  • mg sucks

  • Why do none of these work when I play them?

  • part 1??????

  • marshall mg100hdfx is an amazing amp. great and cheap. perfect amp! highly recomended.

  • great amp to play at home, nice vid mate

  • Tenho um MG50DFX e não tenho esta definição e este peso! Muito bom este MG100DFX! Very Good!

  • wow i have the marshall jcm800 and it plays so much better than that crap if u want to play metal then go for the jcm800 \

  • HORRID!!!!!

  • I have this amp, and personally, i think it sucks. The cleans are alright, but the overdrive is terrible. IMO.

  • Do you know how to play guitar ???

  • @prodige514 He does, fucker. He just plays the same riff....over and over again.

  • @prodige514 Do you? Atleast this guy uploaded a video of himself playing and hes actually quite good

  • @prodige514 Just had to counter that comment... I found this vid looking for a demo of the amp's sound, which this guy delivers.

  • Your Guitar has Like no Sustain, I get more out of my Shit squire

  • I have the 250 dfx for sale. $225 plus shipping. If anyone interested please let me know.

  • do this amp come with a footswitch?please answer

  • @guitarmaster205 no you havto buy one

  • @guitarmaster205 it does, i've got it

  • is this amp good for a show or even a concert?

    how loud is it?

  • @FullmetalFan500 For small concert yes, but You should use out line when You going to play bigger concert :) I with You understand me :)

  • @FullmetalFan500

ya dude i have this amp and its loud as hell, it could play a small arena full of people

  • @FullmetalFan500 - Yes this amp is good for a live show. But this amp has been discontinued. If you get lucky you can find a used one for $250 to $300. Mashall is now producing the MG4 Series MG100HFX and MG102FX which are even better. A must have with these amps is the upgraded Stompware Guitar Footcontroller Footswitch

  • @FullmetalFan500 take it this way. me and a friend went to guitar center. there had to be at least ten or twelve guys plugged in just jammin. the guy went in the drum room, completely seperate from the main floor, he still heard me. i was nn four.

  • all you people are retarded. This line of amps is perfectly capable of producing a whole slew of nice and heavy tones. You don't need any fancy effects running through a marshall amp, it defeats the purpose of getting one. These engineers have studied hard and done their homework. And by the way, cutting through the mix is more about volume instead of treble and. Too much treble makes you sound like a snake is hooked up to your amp (hisssssss).

  • can i get a good metal sound with the 250 dfx i cant seem to get it even with a metal zone

  • can i get an intense sound like this with the 250dfx? i cant seem to get that metal sound with it. and i even used a boss mt2 metal zone and still not that great

  • wow!!!

  • what is tube amp?? what is valve amp?? please answer me and tell me how do you call in english an amp like this one (it needs a baffle to play it) and a normal amp of 15, 30, 50 watts

  • wats contour?:D hey what amp would be better a

    Marshall MG4 Series MG101FX 100W 1x12

    or a

    Line 6 Spider IV 75w 2x10?

  • @hydralisk3313

I'm probably way too late but i had to give my opinion.

Marshall for sure!! I've tried a line 6 spider IV and i hated it! Couldn't get any nice tones out of it! I couldn't even get the volume right, everytime i changed te amp models the volume totally screwed up (and almost ruined my ears)! Just my opinion though....

  • Nice sound, I've got the same amp, but i diont get such a sound out of it :D

Could you pls send me some settings? [At the moment I play in the clean channel with a Boss Metalzone MT-2]

  • @JekktDestati

Throw away your metalzone or sell it on craigslist. I had one for my last amp, sounded great (i thought). Then I got a marshall mg 100 head and cab, and I tried so hard to make my metal zone match its tone, but I couldn't. Let the amp do all the talking. Congratulations, you have outgrown all your distortion pedals!

  • If you want to really improve your sound get a BBE sonic maximizer. makes this amp sound sick when you have it on with the effects loop mix at about half

  • PLease some one help me. Is this a good amp to pay ac/dc blues megadeth , metallica?

  • @fckugler

yes yes and yes. I regularly play all you listed through mine. It emulates all thrash metal tones perfectly. for kill 'em all, turn up the mids to 1oclock and contour to 11 oclock. for master of puppets, turn the treb up to 1 oclock and turn mids down to 11 oclock, and turn up contour to 3 oclock. Keep the gain at 4 oclock.

  • Not to be off the subject but what dose everyone think of the ibanez tbx150r?

  • Play something else...the 1st 3/4 of this video has the same old...same old. Chunk..Chunk...Chunk...and more Chunk.

  • @picwatcher I agree but at least it's not just shred waknery the whole way

  • i don't know why but marshall build good amps when they started.

now all they make is such a bullshit.

    I prefer crate and peavey.

  • @ViGMetal Marshall TUBE amps are still very good...the solid state non-tube amps seem too lack.

I think the Crate amps are alot of junk...some of the models seem better than others. My 30 year old peavey just rocks!!!

  • @desert567 yeah, Crate V33 is a good amp, but not the best. Solid state marshall suck though. Peavey 6505+/5150 is the way to go.

Think now we're on the same way ;)

  • bet this amp would sound great with my emg 81 in my jackson :)

  • What's your settings through this? I can't read the dials.

  • Guys to slove all your problems. My Marshall is kick ass (as many of you know) but I use a line 6 pod to improve the tone and give awesome effects. It is a killer combo and i highly reccommend it. cheers. =D

  • You cant see the dials

  • imbecil!, marshall quality does not compare with that of line 6. 6 is the mixing line of amplifiers so if you would be taking you shopping so bad copies of other amplifiers for: TheForgetfulPast91

  • this amp fucking blows. i have it and its hi-gain channel is just fucking awful. i hate it with every part of me. go with a line 6 100 watt. save cash and get a better amp

  • Line 6 amps suck balls... they copy amps and if your a musician doing gigs and writing your own songs marshall is the way to go.. if your replicating other bands then i guess line 6 would be good but only for that... I have a line 6 and i hate it.... Waste of $500

  • @jay3213 yeah, but what about peavey, crate, and so on ? ;)

you can't say that marshall is the way you go if your a musician making your own songs.

  • @ViGMetal i might just get a Vox full stack cuz they kinda suit me more, plus it will go great with my Les Paul black beauty.. but i will get more amps later cuz the more the better

  • @jay3213 amen brother. Line 6 is to solid state, what Bugera is to tubes

  • @jay3213 the line 6 is good to use for an extreme metal sound, but all of my buds who have a line 6 say that their amp is like falling apart basically. I've been heavily looking at this amp, and i have an offer to buy a used one for real cheap. should i go for it?

  • @jay3213 With most (I think all) Line 6 amps you can alter the modeled tones. Even if you can't, there are a lot of REALLY good tones.

  • @r4pt0rP5K Last weekend I was off to buy a new amp for rehearsals. I tried a Marshall MG102FX and a Line6 Spider IV 150 right after one another. I am a huge, huge line6 fan, and have owned line6 stuff for over 4 years now, so I should know how to set them up - nevertheless the Spider IV had the most horrible tone I ever heard in my life. I tried the rpesets and I tried to set up something myself, but it was NEVER a match for the Marshall... sad but true, so to say ;-)

  • @SomethinWild Well I have an old Marshall MG100DFX sitting right beside me and I've tried the 75W version of the Spider IV at guitar center and got a few much better tones. Either way, Engl PowerBall II ftw.

  • @r4pt0rP5K I agree on the PowerBall (or the FireBall, both are awesome), although for me the Diezel Einstein or the 5150 win the race. Krank amps can sound killer, too.. oh, and the MesaBoogie TripleRec-a lot of options to choose from.

Back to the Spider: I tried it for 15 minutes only, so maybe my opinion is not completely valid. I was tweaking it around and tried the first 30 presets too (with an Ibanez Artist) and was about to cry how digital and thin it sounded. Need to give it a second try.

  • @SomethinWild Well whenever I go to try out amps I spend about an hour there messing with all the settings. The employees don't like that very much though. But the last time I went I used a Jackson Kelly KE3 and got a lot of good tones by tweaking the presets a bit. The best thing to do is to know what some of the presets are before you try it out then find those specific ones and try playing with those first.

  • @jay3213 Marshall are good but peavey are up there i own this amp and a 30 wat peavey and they are both great!

  • @jay3213 I dont agree at all, I own a Spyder MKII 40w with lamps and I blow the shit out of those new Marshalls I thonk that the Line 6 SolidState series sucks .

  • @jay3213 I know man, I regret ever wanting the one I got. It sounded good at first but now I don't like it. I have the same one you have and I wish I would have gotten this amp instead but at the time I wasn't ready for a Stack yet but now I wish I would have anyway! Marshall slays Line 6 anyday day of the week and any week of the year!

  • @jay3213 really line 6 sucks ? but it has better distortion and the marshall dont sound heavy at all

  • @Max45090 Line 6 doesn't suck. Neither does Marshall, though I don't care for the MG series. Line 6 has some brutal stuff, and it's what I record with (Pod Farm). Marshall though, is a bit more straight forward... but you'll sound like everyone else in the music industry with one lol

  • @Max45090 Line 6 sucks. Especially the Spider series. Their distortion sounds like a swarm of bees inside a tin can. It's incredibly unpleasant. They sound mediocre at best (even with a good OD/distortion pedal) I'm so glad I managed to sell my Spider...

  • dude if you have this amp and hate it sell it to me! im in need of a new marshall mines like 12 years old

  • you can get many different sounds from it ( if you know how) so i recomend it to any guitar player even begginers its great

  • Matthew100706613 are you kiddin ? :O just make sure your settings are proper this amp is good for anythin its great ,monster amp :d make sure its on overdrive 2 master volume is at 8 contuor at half or bit more gain 8 or 9 and the other settings you choose

  • this amp is horrible for metal, i have one, and over the 2 or 3 years ive had it, ive tried about every EQ setting combinations possible, they all sound terrible, if you plan on gigging or playin in a band or anything, or just want a better tone for metal that can also play a variety of other stuff, the check out the peavey 3120, its amazing

  • then try combining with a good multi effect pedal. I did and improved the sound... a LOT!!!

  • all video in OD1?

    You dont use od2?

  • no,

    od1-00:00 - 2:20

    od 2-2:20 - 6:25

  • what guitar did use in this video?

  • ESP horizon custom shop

    with pickups:

    Dimarzio FRED (bridge)

    Seymour duncan JB (neck)

  • @TheCastelabate nice. what wood is the body? im a pretty big fan of basswood.

  • great i want one of this :D

  • dude nice i might get one of those or i am going to but a half stack soon

  • dont like this tone for metal at all sorrry. I bet youve never played wih a band. YOu woldnt cut through the mix at all cause your missing treble and mids

  • i agree with you, his tone is lacking everything that makes a guitar stand out, it sound weak and not full. Also agree with the band comment
