  • Great song. Wish I'd heard of this one 15 years ago, my band would have covered it.

  • @blacflag

thanks for the text. the singer is really right. its still the same today. i dont live today. i dont live today. i dont live today.

legalize the so called "drugs" and illegalize money.

    only Love has true value.

  • This could be the theme song for the Tea Party's attitude towards science and facts in general...but it's way too cool for Tea Baggers!

  • The song expresses teen angst, but the lyrics also fit US citizens today, if you view the world as our government.

  • @riviera187 these posted lyrics are not correct except for the first verse

the other posted verses/lines dont seem to be in this version and its hard to make out a lot of the actual lyrics from the audio given here ...so does anyone have the correct lines as they are sung in this version?

by the way the 2nd verse goes like this but i cant make out the rest

they bother us about the clothes we wear

they gripe about the length of our hair

  • Way boss. Boy you have some nice obscure ones. This particular track should have been a nugget.

  • i'd say this is your best "vid"-fits song great,and i love the white beetle @1:40 ;)

  • yup u r right

  • this was on open up your door compilation back in the 80's

  • The singer makes Alice Cooper or Johnny Rotten sound like Olivia Newton-John. Beyond primal.

  • damn right

  • A+++++++

  • lmao i totally agree w/u

  • @gwugluud - Cooper never sounded disaffected, he thought the world going to pieces was funny. That was the whole idea.

  • @narozzz - But yes, "punk" was and is completely redundant. Enough evidence of that already abounds...

  • @narozzz I'm not really getting the connection.

  • @gwugluud - This is punk, threrefore "punk" is not punk, justify ad nauseum, etc....except that's what I really think.

  • kicks like a mule!!

  • @blacflag ------what's the live record called??

  • yeah! I like it

  • ever heard the ending of the song transcendental light by the black lips, i think youll recognize the drums that start after about a minute of silence at the end of the song.

  • nice clanging guitars and punk howling chorus...

  • wow, I've never heard this. Fantastic.

  • i'm surprised to find this. nice upload!

  • This is very powerful. I've always loved this song, and to see it set to the riots at the University I once attended...WOW.

  • yeah, excellent track...think it would work with just about any political/current affairs footage from the sixties up till now...........

  • Ahh gosh sorry about that one...turns out they were look-a-likes!

  • That must have been in England, there is one picture and I think that John and Ringo are there in the protest. Good reel!!!

  • it's 1968 columbia university riots, over the school support of the governments war in vietnam.

  • And don't forget the Gymnasium in Morningside Park. Good footage to a great song.
