The way I figured it, you've got two big holes right up front where your eyes are, so another is no big loss of protection. If the brain really is growing as you say, simple physics would tell you that would reduce the space, increase the pressure on blood vessels, constricting them. Before posting some close-minded remark, you should watch the video and LISTEN. I didn't drill the hole in my head, it was left by the surgeons after they removed all the bone fragments from an injury caused when I was mugged in the streets of NYC. They told me they left it there because there was "no medical reason to fill it in" and I opted not to have another surgery merely for cosmetic reasons.

Being rude back to him solved nothing though, maybe it helped you vent some of your anger, but as far as having a discussion on the scientific/medical merits of this operation, and whether or not those who choose to undergo it are indeed "fucking crazy" (though a better choice of words could have been used, certainly), it was totally unnecessary.

I didn't intend or detect any anger in my response. The merits have been discussed in the video and in prior posts, and Mr. ZeroTolerance didn't seem open to that.

@mwells219 first off...it's written "loser". Secondly, stop being lazy and Google "trepanation" check the wikipedia entry and you'll get the answer about it actually being an ancient practice. Now, if it works or not, that is up to discussion. But it is something that has been done for centuries.

the way around this is just learn how to stimulate the craniosacral pump, trepanation is an easy way out.

You're certainly entitled to make and publicize your own closed-minded opinions about this. I just got the hole by accident, related what some people say about them. But if a medical doctor says there's no medical reason to fill it in, you'd be well-advised to recognize his experience and not blow that off too.

i'm advised that if he had some sort of experience that he would know that an unprotected brain, is more at risk that one that is protected...it doesnt take someone with a hole in their skull to figure that out...

i understand that an accident is what resulted in this...and perhaps it might have some health benefits, or might take away some pressure and whatnot...but to start comparing to a child, who's brain is more imaginative and so on as being beneficiary is completely stupid, for one reason...the brain is growing. lol and as an adult it can't grow anymore. period. our skulls are closed for a reason. to protect the brain. if we were meant to have holes in em, there would be some. this practice is dumb

The way I figured it, you've got two big holes right up front where your eyes are, so another is no big loss of protection. If the brain really is growing as you say, simple physics would tell you that would reduce the space, increase the pressure on blood vessels, constricting them. An open mind is a blessing, something you're sadly lacking.

Before posting some close-minded remark, you should watch the video and LISTEN. I didn't drill the hole in my head, it was left by the surgeons after they removed all the bone fragments from an injury caused when I was mugged in the streets of NYC. They told me they left it there because there was "no medical reason to fill it in" and I opted not to have another surgery merely for cosmetic reasons.

First of all, the reason an infant has a hole in the center is not for expansion but for the birthing process of squeezing smaller. Secondly, perhaps the reason ancient archaic cultures did this was the same assanine reason for blood-letting, circumcision, and the belief that an all powerful man in the sky made and controls everything. Got to this video from a Hieronymus Bosch painting of a trepanation. Bobby Lund is a really interesting guy, and great talker! I can't believe this video's been seen over 2000 times and my comment is only the 3rd??
