I don't understand how trauma can cause OCD, since OCD is caused from an imbalance of serotonin.....

@Kristiniskool It is related to the source of the trauma. If a child feels that something they did/didn't do that caused the death of the parent, then they associate that with whatever it was that was(sn't) done. There are patients (ocd) that perform the rituals because they may have stepped on something, or opened the door the wrong way. So they will perform rituals that they believe will prevent any negative events; as well as the need to feel in control.
