  • Eine völlig unglaubliche Performance. 4 Typen auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer Kreativität. Losgelöst, voller Temperament und Hingabe. Sagenhaft. In der Form fast nichts Besseres gehört.

  • This is one of the greatest achievements of these guys. This begs the question of just how crazy can it get? The sky's the limit. No bounds...Thanks, y' all! ! Yer' fan from way back, B

  • Chick's classical schooling is so clear here... Great post! The composition ("Humpty Dumpty"), the "kitchen", the sound and the fantastic Bob Berg (RIP)...

  • Bob Berg has an extra pair of lungs.

  • That's some musical porn right there!

  • Eddie Gomez was the best!

  • Comment removed

  • i didn't know that Richard Dreyfuss played the bass

  • Bob Berg is so amazing

  • You know,it does bother me when people compare one musician with another, but come on, this partnership of Gadd, Gomez, Berg and Corea is simply another awesome canvas. If you don't like it leave! But don't insult their art because it doesn't suit your taste! This the band that was staged and what a band! This is my first time listening to this band and Bob Berg is simply awesome. May he rest in peace!

  • @emusonparole I love it!!! Put that one in quotes with your name underneath it. Hope you dont mind if i use it, I promise i will site you as the source!LOL you summed up in one sentence what usually takes me four.

    Take Care

  • Why Chick Corea used a calculator watch?

  • @Adoniram1986 because he isnt concerned of material objects, perhaps

  • BOB!

  • BOB!

  • süperrrrrrrrrrrr.big korea

  • Una formazione indimenticabile!

  • 2:47 - 2:49.... wow !!

  • Bob Berg è una perdita incolmabile per il jazz..non ci sono parole sufficienti per descrivere il suo stile toccante, geniale e moderno

  • I miss Bob Berg....

  • I used to think someday I could play like Gadd>hahahahahahaha it's good to dream though right?

  • I gave my thumbs up for Bob Berg and Steve Gadd

  • Loving Chick rocking the Casio Databank watch: I had one, and got ragged on for being an uber-geek....

    Gadd is so fluid here.

  • Excelente!

estas cosas son verdaderamente mágicas, y como dijeron muy bien antes, te inspira de una manera impresionante.

    RIP Bob Berg.

  • I love this #$%#ing great.

  • amazing, gadd is solid as usual and the bass solo is godly.

  • Excellent ! Thanks for uploading

  • I gotta learn this on uprite..

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G . Good thing I at least get to hear Chick and Eddie perform live in june :D

  • SICK BASS

  • Inspirational !

  • 8:06-8:23 one of the greatest drum fills I've ever heard!

  • 6:08-6:10

    Chick & Eddie unison FTW

  • I love how Chick Corea and Bob Berg get a twitch around their neck after noticing that Bob was a little out of tune. Their performance is absolutely burnin'!

  • holy crap bob berg! i remember going to a jazz (more specifically saxophone) clinic of his when my high school's jazz band was to play at EKU....cool stuff

  • Listen to how Gadd keeps the tempo going...with the High Hat.pushing it ..not letting it drag..

  • gadd is the master of time placement

  • no no his watch is pure 80's what a freakin nerd..but that's how's it goes with Geniuses..Eddie is an ANGEL.

  • damn chick is freakin out man. Shit what a solo. That guy can play!

  • Show some respect you dummies, when you have achieved a quarter of this talent you still won't have the right to post these stupid comments.

  • hehehe. everyone needs to feel big in some way. lol.

  • who cares about chick's fat??!! by the way, his watch is pure 90's...-yeah yeah, who cares...- very funny...

eddie eddie....what the fuck am i doing here...i'll go back to study!

  • yeh lol ill join u:) hes a monster!

  • This was a hell of a quartet! it's a real shame Bob passed the way, they could still be playing..

  • Hey, 'You Tube' automatically LINKS my duration-point markings !! Awesome idea !! lol

  • Thats a cool 'coda' in which the sax drops out @ '9:48' and re-enters @ '9:56'. Kind of pays homage to the 'Mad Hatter' arrangement and also adds something new to the composition. Bet that was GADD'S idea !!!!

  • Wow, Chick is so thin! He must have gained 50 kilos since then. When is this from?

  • Comment removed

  • He had not mentioned the performance ;)

  • 17 years is a lot of chicken

  • well, you can see during Steve gadd's solo that behind him the banner says " Stuttgart '92" :-)

  • You have got to be kidding. Chick is more than 60 years old now. And last time I saw him he looked great and healthy. What's with the disrespect. People change through time.

  • Thats what I'm talking about one short of the original line up that performed this gem on the mad hatter. Love this tune!

  • 7:03-7:20 AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • 0:00 - 10:21 amazing ;)

(ok, i understood you ment the end of the bass solo, which is cool indeed! :)

  • obviamente toda la cancion es increiblemente genial, pero para mi la parte climax es ese cambio de ritmo y el solo de bajo que hay de 7:03-7:20 , ese cambio de ritmo es espectacular, no ves como la gente aplaude en ese momento?

  • What a melody!

Eddie Gomez is doing some ridiculous shit during Chick's solo and his own solo. So ridiculous.

    Also massive Gadd at 9:06

  • yeah dude, hes the bomb

  • You can say what you want about Gomez's taste, but that's the way he exactly play on the most part of his solos. And, belive me, he's incredible, he sing on double bass and that's the way double bass should be played!

  • By ridiculous, I mean amazing. Just needed to make sure you got that. I'm a big Eddie Gomez fan.

  • The drummer does a great job at changing the atmosphere between solos and the melody and the band has great cooperation during his solo.

  • chick's a madman

  • hahah at 7:09 it looks like he's jerkin off

  • Gee that's what I'm always thinking about...

  • Wholey Damn this was simply amAZING!!!

  • Eddie went into a Jazz trance.

  • If you guys think that Bob Berg can't play Jazz, I suggest you check him out on Cedar Walton's Eastern Rebellion 2 album from 1977. Sure he was influenced by Brecker, but he could play his ass off ,even back then.

  • ya he does. what the hell are u talking about?

  • plz no more LSD

  • @StarOceanBoy

    :DDD Great one! :DDDD :)))

  • Nabzed:

    ...Never speak again...

  • Not preferring a musician does not equal a musician having no clue as to how he should play his style. I listen to Berg a lot and he has played from hard bop to rock fusion, two opposing worlds within jazz, without having a repetitive sound or overused licks. He uses a unique style to all his solos while still always being Bob Berg. Whether you like him or not, that's very ignorant to say.

  • Hard Bop and Fusion are not so far from each other ;)... I agree though that Bob Berg is one of the best.

  • grande bob

  • In my humble opinion - the best performance of that song - abso-fkn-lutely!

  • Chick's two hand stuff at 5:07 blows me away!!

  • Wow.. some of my favorite players, and one of my favorite Chick tunes!!

  • Sweet mother of God! Jazz this good, can it be legal? Loving it!!!

  • My sentiments exactly!

  • What a Dream team!

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Here's what I think of Bob Berg. Mostly a brecker clone, but with a bigger sound most of the time, and slightly different ideas. He's good. I love both of them.

  • ssssssooooooo ggggoooooddddd

  • I went to school in East Hampton with Dave Berg, Bob's son, We couldn't believe it when Bob and his wife were killed in that car accident. Miss him...

  • Sweet Jesus!

  • This is a fucking good edition of the CC accoustic band PLUS Bob Berg. Miss him very much!

  • thanks for the upload

  • Which superior mind invented the web?

I´ve been browsing on the web for years, but I still don´t get used to its wonders.

If my mind says "oh, I´d like to watch a chick corea video where he jams a lot with other exceptional musicians", this wish is just a few clicks away from being accomplished. It´s crazy.

  • The web was originaly invented by US intelligenceagency with the purpose of securing government data from mother russia. But later on it became accesable for amateurs like me and you 'n here we are today. Btw i was born in the year of the recording of this :)

  • Um.....it depends. You want the blue pill or the red pill?

  • Yea, imagine if the web were invented a couple hundred years ago. We could dial up Beethoven rehearsing his 9th symphony. the world will never be the same with the web. Everything is documented now. I just watched Michael Brecker on a club gig in NY. I'm sure he had no idea he was even being videotaped.

  • Lol the web wasn't around for alot of things that are on here........ do you mean video?

  • steve gadd, "pop, jazz, latin...versatilidade total!

  • one of the best live recordings chick ever did ... and maybe one of the top 100 jazz live recordings ever made :)

  • great

  • Gomez one the best bass upright players out there.

  • very nice =)

    umm LOL ahhehe De

  • see my "vids" online now before youtube takes them off again o

  • When Eddie Gomez was with Bill Evans his Sound was much better...

  • I love this rhythm section of Corea, Gadd and Gomez...

Great tune...I'm a big fan of Gomez's bass tone and excellent chops, but in this vid, he looks like either a staff accountant or a HS math teacher.

  • Is that Jeremy Piven playing bass?? lol

  • Oh man, that was incredible. Excellent find here.

  • SICK!they're so WOW!!! how do they do that? its sooo crazy~

  • wow everybody is on fire here, insanely good clip

  • what a video?! wonderful.. thanks tomgadd..

  • Thanks for this golden nugget!!

Chick is just a sick animal... what can you say! He is the sequence master.

Man, do I miss Bob Berg. I guess I would be playin' my ass off too If I was standing in front of the BADD Mr. Gadd and Gomez. Check those trilly licks at aout 3:00!!! Yeah!

I watched this twice in a row and it was even more mind blowing the second time... these guys were flyin' with out a net!

  • just amazing wonderful stuff B,G,C,E

  • Damn! Thanks for sharing.

  • show de bola que Deus abençoe o talento desses grandes musicos!!!

  • Chick totally kicks David Brubeck's arse!

  • This is the first time I've ever seen Eddie Gomez. I love the tone of his bass and his choices of notes. I always imagined him with monster hands though, like Stanley Clarke.

    Chick looks so skinny!

This is one of my favorite Chick Corea songs, it is great to see it finally. Thanks.

  • Jesus Christ on a bike!!! This is really rather good.

  • chick's solo kicks ass

  • one of my favorite corea's composition. so powerful, i love it

  • Infinito !!!

  • is chick really a scientologist

  • yes

  • What?!

  • I know...sucks. I really wanted him to be normal.

  • Nope..A lot of his albums are dedicated to L. Ron Hubbard.

  • Independent of his theological/philosophical beliefs, just look at him...

  • what an allstar lineup!

  • I came here to hear a great performance...which I got. Some guy just came to get into politics. Hey buddy, none of us like organized racism. However, what Chick probably meant was that he's a musician, not a politician, and he just wanted to play and not get involved in some other country's policies. You should be thrilled when an American actually respects some other country's sovereignty!

  • Ooeh fijn. Genieten :)

  • Love the OT VIII Scientology Bracelet, Chick! Xenu has no chance when you have that thing on! Will someone transcribe the lick from 5:03 to 5:12?

I saw Chick last night with McFerrin and DeJohnette it was amazing, but he didn't wear that hot OT VIII bracelet! I was worried Xenu would come because of it!

    ^_^

  • Ha ha.. mind you if i dont wear my cross the cloven hoof`d one will steal my soul. Take everything... but leave ths stevie wonder

  • There's a Bob Berg fan club on facebook now!

  • Berg's tone if fat and full,baby...no funny business. He could blow...

  • Steve Gadd....completely driving the band, as usual. :)

  • Xcuse me, just here for a spell

  • Love them all.

As a young jazz student, I asked Chick why he played in South Africa, breaking the embargo against Apartheid. Maybe y'all are too young to relate.. He said, and I quote, "you gotta work that out for yourself." That's all, it's all I should say. Any more is vitriol.

OK, fuck Chick. Nelson Mandala lives.

  • Some people play gigs to eat...Chick grew up poor in chelsea, Ma a few miles away from here- when you are poor, a paying gig is your friend!

  • Chick... a genius!!!!!

This is one of the best songs of him...

Chick and his Electric Band is also awesome... I got a Match... simply awesome!!!!
