Freedom of the press is the only thing that keeps the government in check. That's why Obama is trying to take that right away with the fairness doctrine.  The fairness doctrine is his way of silencing anyone who does not agree with him. As long as he keeps control of the press, he controls the people. He already controls the Networks now, his goal to control the radio and the internet will silence the opposition. Beware America, it's 1939 all over again.

Hmmm...Every time I have listened to the Sean Hannity show or even ManCow, they always want to have a liberal listener come on with the opposing argument on the issue. Accuracy and truth? Should we prohibit top 40 radio stations from doing morning talk shows also? Or demand a preacher comes on after they dish the celebrity gossip on what he thinks about the issue...? The government should not control public media. Period.

The "fairness doctrine" is amazingly outrageous simply for the fact that the left constantly talks about freedom of speech and expression but desire to remove their primary adversaries by removing speech and expression. the fairness doctrine is already in place, it's called a "google search." i can search the entire world, and listen to and watch what i want already. all this is is a method by weaker people to silence stronger, more popular people. There are too progressives and liberals on the airwaves; no one listens to them because they suck! Liberals don't even listen to them! As much money as liberals have and as liberal companies who buy advertising have, they choose not to invest in the shows of liberal & progressive hosts.
