Saw them twice now. With my own eyes, after 15 years of listen, I got to see Bud and Eric. Rome killed it, had energy and passion. I am very blessed to see something that I never thought would ever be.
i've never heard sublime on the radio, but i've been a fan for years, i play some of there songs at shows i do. You're opinion is probably biased you're stuck on the fact that it's a different singer, but it's still the same band.

Ya know unfortunately for humanity Brad is dead. So you're not going to find another one of him. That's the end of the story. How many major bands out there havn't changed their name after a member quit/left/died/etc.? With that said, how would their music not change? You don't have to like Rome, you don't have to like Sublime anymore. Either accept that or don't, but your comparisons of the two are irrelevant regarless.
yeah in all honestly sublime was not just bradley. he was a huge part of it, obviously but anyone who was a SUBLIME fan not just a bradley nowell fan would appreciate rome's attempt to bring back the band. and this isn't exactly what sublime's style was but.. they changed. i mean come on rome sings every old song except he doesn't sing caress me down because the first line is Mucho gusto, me llamo Bradley.. he's being respectful. and obviously the band members picked him for a reason.

I just saw them in concert on Tuesday, and in no way what they are doing is tarnishing Brad's legacy. The love from the musics comes across even stronger. In fact many times Rome was drowned out by the thousands of sublime fans singing along to original Sublime tracks. Anyone who thinks Rome is tarnishing is lacking in any sense of logic. He does an admirable job, and keeps the vibe in line with Long Beach Stylee.
i think that all the people who are hating on rome have to just think of it as a completly different, yet still awesome band. alot of people are going into it already assuming they wont like it because it isnt brad anymore. you gotta listen to it with fresh ears to really appreciate it. of course we are all going to compare him to bradley, but give him a chance first

@ryno9292 no, i definitely am not from long beach. i am from winnipeg, manitoba, canada, one of the coldest places on earth, although our summers are super hot and beautiful. i don't 'know sublime' for that reason, but i do know i have bought their albums and downloaded the stuff you cant buy and its pretty much all i play in the summer. even in the winter when it gets to -50 C i can still put on a sublime cd and feel like its not so fucking cold.i will definitely look up that guy. thanks.peace.

@applehead65 they didnt want to change the name... they actually just wanted to keep going as sublime.. but the rights to the name were owned by brad and once brad passed away, the rights went to his family and they did not want to give the name away.. even though they fought for the right to use the name that was as much theirs as brads. they lost.. so they just named it sublime with rome... although they could of chosen a different name.. i concur on that

When I first heard the new album, I really thought Rome and the rest of the original sublime members did an awesome job. Lets face it, Brad was the fkin man and no one will ever fkin replace what he brought to a person listening to him. Rome does a great job fitting in and sounding a bit like bradley. Still in the back of my mind, its not 100% the same and never will be...But its about fkin time Sublime made some more music we can rock ,drive, smoke and chill too...nuff said
This music might not be as edgy or have the same unique sound as Sublime did 15 years ago, but the fact of the matter is these guys are 15 years older now. They obviously took their time in search of a new singer/guirarist and this is as close to 'new Sublime' music as you are going to get. Would you be happier without this? Otherwise, they'd still tour with the original band name.

It's not going to be like Brad, but it's a pretty bad ass song and a great album. If you can disconnect that no, it's not Bradley, then it's pretty good. They're doing a great job and I can't wait to see them in August!

As a warning, don't expect most people to be swayed by your arguement, a lot practically feed off the original sublime's music and are overjoyed to hear there's more on the way. Also, Rome's lyrics are surpringly very similar to the way Brad used to write.

There should just be no associations between the bands except for the fact that the existing members are in this band. Brad and douche bag shouldn't be compared at all. Anyways, Sublime with Rome, and Sublime, are 2 completely different bands, and in my opinion, they both are enjoyable.

The chorus sounds kind of stupid, but it's got a good sound to it. This song sounds really poppish, and just a little lite. Some of the other songs on this new album sound much better, but I'm sure this one may grow on me.

Anyone hating on Rome should go see them live. You'll walk away impressed if not a fan afterwards. No Rome is not Bradley, but he is keeping Sublime alive which is what we should all be happy about.

Ya know unfortunately for humanity Brad is dead. So you're not going to find another one of him. That's the end of the story. How many major bands out there havn't changed their name after a member quit/left/died/etc.? With that said, how would their music not change? You don't have to like Rome, you don't have to like Sublime anymore. Either accept that or don't, but your comparisons of the two are irrelevant regarless.

I just saw them in concert on Tuesday, and in no way what they are doing is tarnishing Brad's legacy. The love from the musics comes across even stronger. In fact many times Rome was drowned out by the thousands of sublime fans singing along to original Sublime tracks. Anyone who thinks Rome is tarnishing is lacking in any sense of logic. He does an admirable job, and keeps the vibe in line with Long Beach Stylee.

@ryno9292 no, i definitely am not from long beach. i am from winnipeg, manitoba, canada, one of the coldest places on earth, although our summers are super hot and beautiful. i don't 'know sublime' for that reason, but i do know i have bought their albums and downloaded the stuff you cant buy and its pretty much all i play in the summer. even in the winter when it gets to -50 C i can still put on a sublime cd and feel like its not so fucking cold.i will definitely look up that guy. thanks.peace.

When I first heard the new album, I really thought Rome and the rest of the original sublime members did an awesome job. Lets face it, Brad was the fkin man and no one will ever fkin replace what he brought to a person listening to him. Rome does a great job fitting in and sounding a bit like bradley. Still in the back of my mind, its not 100% the same and never will be...But its about fkin time Sublime made some more music we can rock ,drive, smoke and chill too...nuff said

This music might not be as edgy or have the same unique sound as Sublime did 15 years ago, but the fact of the matter is these guys are 15 years older now. They obviously took their time in search of a new singer/guirarist and this is as close to 'new Sublime' music as you are going to get. Would you be happier without this? They were not going to continue but they needed money because Sublime wasn't selling like back in the day. So they picked up rome because they thought he was good. It's not like Eric and Bud are getting any younger, they need to make money while they can and the only reason the band is not named Sublime any more is because of Bradley's estate having the rights to it. Otherwise, they'd still tour with the original band name.

But what they should have done instead was created another band the way they did with long beach dub all stars. Not try to pick up from where they left off when bradley died. As a warning, don't expect most people to be swayed by your arguement, a lot practically feed off the original sublime's music and are overjoyed to hear there's more on the way. Also, Rome's lyrics are surpringly very similar to the way Brad used to write.

@MRomahgawd My problem with the whole thing is how much sublime is being compared to this. It isn't Sublime. They play sublime music with the existing members. There should just be no associations between the bands except for the fact that the existing members are in this band. Brad and douche bag shouldn't be compared at all. Not by the way they sing or the way they write music. Brad poured his heart into the lyrics and songs he wrote. Douche bag just wrote these songs to try and mimic Brad.

Bradley's undoubtedly better at everything, but Rome actually has a touch of passion in his music, even before he joined Budd and Eric. Anyways, Sublime with Rome, and Sublime, are 2 completely different bands, and in my opinion, they both are enjoyable.

Don't get me wrong, I really like this album/Rome a hell of a lot. And I'm not one of those "This isn't REALLY Sublime! mah!! DERP!!" people. I just want to say that I think Yours Truly is just a little TOO lovey-dovey. There are a couple of great tunes like this one, Panic, and at least 2 others that I really dug. The rest just sorta sound the same to me.
Anyways, I still support the hell out of what they're doing.

The chorus sounds kind of stupid, but it's got a good sound to it. This song sounds really poppish, and just a little lite. Some of the other songs on this new album sound much better, but I'm sure this one may grow on me.
