  • isint this one from Dior Homme Intense?

  • it is yes !

  • yes

  • 0 (zero) stars!

this is a sacreligious to any Joy Division fan.

  • knew it was way too good to be killers.

    class song

reminding me to listen to joy division again

  • even half of joy division...

  • Dior Homme Sport!

  • rivisitazione molto bella

  • Coming from a person who usually detests The Killers I must say that this version is superior to the JD original, well in instrumental at least. Music has been through a lot in the 30 or so years since this was released so its only natural that this version be more vibrant, perhaps the wrong adjective when describing a JD song but anyways. Todays music > yesteryears music

  • J'aime beaucoup cette version (que j'ai entendue grâce au superbe film "Control") mais celle de Joy Division reste la première de mon coeur .. ;)

  • De toute façon dans la musique, à part rares exceptions, rien ne vaut l'original :)

  • lOVE IT!

  • This is a mesage for every Joy Division fan: I didnt knew JD until the killers made this cover... And I think I'm not the only one...

So, come on!This is a tribute!Maybe is not as good as the original song, maybe it is.. But, however this cover will give more popularity to JD... I didnt knew the interesting story of Ian Curtis until I heard this cover ... :)

    ~Stop fighting =)

  • yeah ur right i didnt know about JD either until i heard this cover

  • Tout simplement génial se groupe ! ♥

  • Personally, I like the Killers' version better because I heard it first. But, what I know is that the originals are always better because they are originals. Most of the people here heard Joy Division's first and therefore it has a place in their hearts. I'm sure there are some little kids out there that think the Jonas Brothers' version of Hello, Goodbye is better than the Beatles' version. Which is of course a false opinion ;)

  • Agree. :]

  • @klank1590 i hate jonas but i would like to point out there is no such thing as a false opinion

  • Yeah dude, I know. I was just kidding haha

  • I agree with you... : )

  • First of all This is a tribute The Killers arent trying to one up joy division and besides if they tried they would so put a sock in it

now i know that i will get 15 responses saying shut up jot division was way better these are opinions this is mine

so deal with that chuck muffin!

  • I 2nd that motion

  • only the intro and the outro are nice, the rest of the song is crap

  • really

  • Who gives a fuck about compairing stuff you people are like kids, no my team is better yours is phony etc

i like this version because its faster and more groovy.who the fuck even compaired the killers to joy division ffs. You dont like the song you dont listen to it, but you dont act like a spoiled brat because it just not falls into your dogmatic criteria. Grow the fuck up.

  • Nice version but not better than the original one.! Joy++

  • Obviously, the roiginal es the best. I LOVE JOY DIVISION.

  • I like this version but Joy Division's is wayyyyy better. nothing beats the original, ever.

  • me too

    i love u jude!

  • Gosh! It's such a good song, i loved it since i heard it on the Dior/Jude law's commercial!

  • This is a fabulous cover!!! Makes me wanna jump around the room quicker than you can say Tigger and Pooh!

  • chida rolla

  • Not being funny, but i wouldnt even have heard of Joy Division if i hadnt heard this version. this version is probably better and why is everyone arguin cos its not like The Killers tried Offending Joy Division

  • Comment removed

  • As such, it's a decent cover, but I think the problem with this, for me, is that they tried to stay true to the original (and just add a little more gloss), so it's almost impossible not to make a direct comparison. And in that respect this really falls short.

I'm not against covers as such, not at all, not with my favourite bands either (and Joy Division certainly is that), but perhaps I would've liked The Killers to take a more radical approach to this, if they really wanted to make it work.

  • Es de alguna película este video¿?

  • Si, "Control", de Anton Corbjin. Sobre Ian Curtis, vocalista dos Joy Divison. Um grande filme.

  • Wow, why does everyone seem to hate the killers so much? Yeah, they do a lot of covers. Half of sawdust was covers, but most of the songs I'd never heard of before, and I'm glad that the killers covered them so that I looked up and listened to the originals. I love the killers' sound, it's unique and interesting. If you think they ruined your favorite song, just don't listen to it. It's not like they play it on the radio every day anyway.

  • not a bad song, but how can anyone even compare it to Joy Division

  • what's the problem...the killers did a good thing, it isn't a pop song and they didn't make it into a one. They just made another version...without the intention to make a better version. People don't talk about Joy Division that much...The Killers just wanted to remind everyone that they were a great band...

  • hey ur right

  • what a weird combination of Controle and the cover song... looks sort of amateur...

  • remember that the killers area is pop not goth

  • Joy Division was not a goth band. It was a post punk band. And Shadowplay was not a pop song but a post punk song. The Killers made a pop song with it and I just say : big mistake.

  • look i dont care what genre it is what i am trying to say is that the one that your precius Joy Division made was not all that good k maybe it was to you, this one is better and if u think its crape then dont hear it

  • Comment removed

  • luv it

  • verdammt gutes video zur musik..bringt des feeling rüber

  • the killers it hink did a good job but bothing like the original. joy division gave thesong a lot more power and depth as the killers made it a happier song.

  • i hate them for what they did..

  • merita..senza sbavature, rispettoso dello stile, ok..

  • wuooo...

  • a little different than the original but...i still love it :D

  • I like this one better than the original.

    *Expects many thumbs-downs*

  • I think they're both awesome, though strangely different. The original really captures darkness though the Killers-version is much more energetic and in-your-face.. Depends on what you like. Though you can expect many thumb-downs ;).

  • as soon as I saw the title I knew it'd be good for a laugh

  • Great cover, though I wish they'd left out the "whoo-hoo-hoooo" part, kind of ruins the atmosphere JD was trying to create.

    Kudos to the Killers.

    RIP Ian

  • good..

  • Its true, its not as good as the original, but its still an excellent cover of an excellent song.

  • original version is a way better

  • Remind me young folks the way he sing it

  • The best!

  • no were near as good as joy division :( !

  • funny cover

  • The killers rock, You see covers everywhere so stfu their both good bands!

  • lmao with a grin, in reality why do people care if they cover it??? seriously a cover is your own twist or turn on a song, get over it, it was done and over with!!! why sweat it? some will like it and some will dislike it! in the end....its joy divisions song yes we know geeez...But killers just put theyre turn on it thats all. its music people we all should just enjoy it, i love both as should all of you....

  • is this the legit video?

  • yesh

  • why cant we ENJOY music anymore?? i love this song and i dont care if its a cover :) love you brandon xxxx

  • there's nothing wrong in covernig a joy division song... the killers are popular it's true, and so?a lot of artist sell out these days...

the joy division version is obvosuly better but who cares this one is more dance style....just have fun!

  • I love Brandon!!!

  • controooooooooooL

  • Un gran grupo haciendo una gran versión de una gran canción de un gran grupo... me he liao mucho? pero se entiende no? ;)

  • BEST,SONGG EVERRRRRR!!!! :')

  • If the Killers weren't popular people wouldn't hate on this cover so much. People now and days think it's cool to hate on everything that gets popular.

  • so true.

  • At Least This is Not Like the "Love Will Tear Us Apart" Cover By Fall Out Boy

  • Fall Out Boy always fails.

  • oh yeah and mercuryrecordsuk, its from the album sawdust

  • they did much better than joy d on this song.

  • lol! how can they do better than the band that it came from? its a shocking version, its tolerable yeah but its nothing compared to the original, its meant to be dark and haunting this is just poppy like all modern day music, Ian would be shocked

  • this isnt just poppy music, dipshit. this is still dark. go fuck yurself.

  • One hit wonder I don't think so!

  • i think its good, i ve heard (and done) a lot of covers and they brought out some other aspects of the original, without Britney music technology or autotune!

Anyway, this is obviously from the movie "Control" in which actors play JD, so its necessarily a cover.

  • 303, it's not that bad mate...we all have our memories and in essence this is a tribute to a great band...

  • its funny, thats wat i did to ur mom last night :O

  • they would have also had a different name they got theirs from a joy division music video

  • was the new order video crystal ;) says the killers on the drum set.

  • yes this it :)

  • Great version!

This is a wonderful tribute to Joy Division!

So glad they didn't do a note for note cover.

    Great job guys!

  • I'm pretty sure that without Joy Division, the Killers most likely would have existed. They just would've been short a song or two to cover.

The point of a cover is to pay tribute to another group that forged ahead of them. It's not to replace what they've done.

  • wow great song

  • Just think that without Joy Division The Killers wouldn't have even existed. As simple as that. I like The Killers, I think is one of the best bands currently. But, Joy Division's original song is WAY better than this cover.

  • its a good song, the killers cover, its catchy...but the soul that ian curtis' vocals gave the song is clearly missing...the lyrics are sung from the darkest parts of ian's soul and that isnt translated by brandon flowers' vocals...

  • I like this better than the original

  • thats because your a fucking troglidite

  • for anyone who said for Brandon to shave...he already has, check out the Day and Age Music Videos

  • Music.

    Are you stupid?

  • joy division!!

  • you know whats up!!!

  • NONONO! Brandon looks like crap with the caterpillar under his nose! SHAVE. IT. OFF.

    I like this song. :D

  • woooot

  • lol i thnk i can dance but othere than that i like the beat and song

  • why he has such sexy attractive dancing skills lol

  • It's so twirly-whirly...I love this one.

  • lol :P

  • Jaja

  • i love you ian kurtis

  • awsome song i can listen to this song a million times and i wont get tired xD

  • This is the shit shadow play is a great song:)

  • Beautiful movie.

  • great cover, but it is nothing compared to joy division. [;

  • i love this band.

i don't know a single bad song by them.

    great stuff.

  • I definitely agree. I've been listening to their stuff for as long as I can remember and it has never disappointed.

  • The album is "Sawdust."

  • the only shadow play is by Rory Gallagher.

    This is shit.

  • wow this is a horrible cover

  • NO! PLEASE! NO! WHY!?!?!?!?!

  • Wow I love this cover! ^_^

  • Wow as soon as I scrolled down to look at the comments I saw some comment about emos... -_- seriously shut the fuck up and grow the fuck up!

  • way to be astereotype buddy.

  • What? Di you read my comment? It was "pro" emo unless you are one of those fags who hate emos for no reason D:<

  • It's always said that no one can capture a song as well as the original singer, and I think it's true for the most part. But if there is one person out there that will sing Ian Curtis' songs, I think Brandon Flowers is the best bet. I love this song!

  • awsome song i luv dee killers 4 ever n ever:DDD

  • This is the only song of the killers that i like!

And control is a great movie :] (This is the sound track)

  • i always thought the idea of a cover was to "make it your own" so to speak, rather than trying to replicate the original. in which case i think they did a great job.

  • leave the bourbon on the shelf!!!!!!

  • los amo los amo los amoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    malditos sean

    los amooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!1

    the killerssssssssssss

  • I have the moviee!!

    Joy Dvision Ruless..

    The killers Ruless!!

  • joy division eternamente

  • its from the album sawdust not from album shadowplay

  • the killerz rock!!!!!!!!! =)

  • this song is from the killers album sawdust I believe

  • i thought its from shadow play (on author comments)

  • nope i know i have the killers sawdust album shadowplay is on there

  • dont care wat everyone else thinks its an awesome song

  • way to go about killing a great song and a great movie. as the comment says below, I'll have to agree and say, "I can't take this cover seriously."

should check out the movie , 'control' where most of this footage has been montaged with the dudes from the killers.

  • I can't take this cover seriously.

  • great cover..

  • Yeah obviously that guy has no idea about the killers. And God I hate that word emo even being associated with music or people. its such a pointless shit word.

  • yeah I agree, can't stand when people use it. Love the Killers :)

  • Me too!

  • Obviously you've never heard of the Killers? The fact that you jumped to "emo" makes me think that maybe you're one? Their anything but emo, more like a synth-rock-pop band. Grow up, put your hair razor away and get off the net please!

  • Umm I'm going to direct everyones attention to your name for a second. Now who's emo?

  • Whats emo got to do with anything?

  • Has to do with someone making fun of emos, and emo bands. Yet has a complete emo name, anything else?

  • Why would you make fun of them? Why are so many people against emo's? I think they are wonderful! xx

  • Thats cruel! You should except them for who they are you bastard! Who gives a shit what you think, they're nice people and thats all that matters!

  • you obviously didn't realize the what i meant, emo is not a person it's a FAD not a personalization moron.

  • emo is dark and cutting and killing bullshit.

    be indie.

  • Hey! At 1:35 is That Joe Anderson from Across the Universe?

  • yes

  • lol it is thatg move was pretty tight beetles+killers rock

  • its ok

    but original is much better

  • I'm glad to see they give credit to Ian curtis in the video.

  • the original is far better

  • i saw the killers live yesterday and they do seem to have quite a bit of respect for joy division. and a lot of other english bands (especially manchester, y'know the home of music ;D).

pretty mad how this band from las vegas selling out the biggest stadiums in minutes playing music from a few lads in macclesfield.

  • nah Birmingham the home of metal lol

  • ...and one from salford...
