I love giving a shit about my strings. Ever since I switched the stock strings on my banjo for Ernie Ball Earthwoods, I've been adamant about them. GHS for electric guitar anyday haha. But it's true that they matter, they're the start of the sound - shit in, shit out. For the same reason I'd also say look around at different pickups and change the goddamn stock ones too. An expensive amp can perfect your tone but first you've got to get in the ballpark.

Oh, well I mean if the stock pickups do it for you then fine, you don't HAVE to change them lmao. It's just that they also affect the tone massively.
