The public option that many have been defending actually was not going to be an option after all, so in reality if you have BC/BS you were going to have to keep them anyway. People view political videos because they have an opinion or want to be informed about something. With the advent of site like YouTube and blogs people can not only read what the author feels but they can now tell the author or any other person how they feel. The watered-down versions of the public "option" were not worth fighting for. If you cannot choose to enroll in the public option then why even call it an "option"? The point of reform is to make heatlh insurance more affordable to more people and that was not happening with the watered down public option. The new approach sounds like what some Europeans and Japan do, private insurances regulated by the government. That works for many, it could work for us as well.
