Pollinator Hedgerows: There's a Plan for That

Good to see this initiative in action. It is not super-clear from the video, but is the aim simply to establish shrubs and hedgerows to then be able to plant wild flowers in the third fourth year? I would also like to hear more about why the weed control is necessary - wouldn't the flowers from those (assuming they are native) be a better forage for native bees? Thanks.
