  • Sarah - I've been trying to find the English translation of what the words mean. Are you able to point me in the right direction?

  • @casualclicks Hello, I too will research it -- I live in the US now but can reach back to Austria and see if I can find a good translation. Happy Holidays, Sarah

  • @casualclicks

you will not find words for this, for it is not "real words"......it is of the Jodeling tradition, thus it is more about a feeling and of harmonies not words.....it is quite funny when we sing it and tell people that they have to remember the "words" it is Tjo tjo tiri, tjo tjo tiri.....(all the time).......those kind of songs are beautiful when you sing them in many different harmonies.......Merry X-mas

  • Thank you fo r posting this and foe your passion. This is truly one of the most beautiful Christmas time songs of the Alps. I remember this being sung through all my childhood and growing-up years. It brings back wonderful memories.

  • @msmicole Thank you, it brings back wonderful memories for me as well. We lived in Rheinland-Pfalz, the Bavarian Alps and Vienna. I miss it, Sarah.

  • thanks to post one of the most precious music-pieces my country had brought up - as seen in the vid - to the whole world
