wonderful! The premise is neatly worked out in the intro...kind an old-school idea these days. I'd watch this before school, then play it on my clarinet in band in 5th grade. Ah, memories!

This was the only show that was shown in both English (KCOP 13) & In Japanese (KSCI 18) in Southern California!! The Movie version (Space Cruiser Yamato) was shown on KTLA 5 as part of the "Family Film Festival" series. Host Tom Hatton once shown a Japanese version of T.V.Guide promoting the show WITH A FREE BLUEPRINT OF THE YAMATO inserted in the guide!!

I used watch this show here in the Inland Empire in 1979 , 1980 in the morning before school and after school around 4pm. on channel 13 kcop. Post- Battle of the planets and Speed Racer, Benny and Cecil of course. StarBlazers was the "Shit" back then..
