Does anyone remember house party 2. There's a white guy with dreadlocks in that movie. I think he's less friend thats Walkin around clapping his hands
im seeing alot of negative comments on this movie!!!!this movie is the first real movie putting out the hiphop culture on hollywood terms this movie is a classic, yeah I know thers some corny parts, however best hollywood hood orientated movie of that era!!!appreciate it!!!
@BBOYHARDSTYLE not only remo what the fuck was the point of the drumming guy in the basement , oh no ther's gonna be a fight , oh its ok hes chewed a beer can ,now everybody in the bronx is scared of him. if that guy is not related to the producer or writer then i will buy a big issue off of him
@KINGPIVIT...Thank you bro...For real thank you...For 27 yrs I have wondered about this song. When I was younger, I hooked a box up to my vcr to record that part and made a pause tape out of that song...
I have this movie on DVD...This is by far the best hip hop movie ever put on the silver screen. Today's "hip hop" isn't that at all..IT'S ALL CRAP BY A BUNCH OF BIG FAKERS! This movie shows the "real value" of hip hop.
What everybody needs to understand is that if Hip-Hop didn't become "mainstream" you wouldn't be able "eat" from it. But by making it "mainstream" (Hollywood, wealthy white suburban, or w/e you wish to call it) you loose the essence and quality of it . Its an oxymoron really. It's not just Hip-Hop that went through this effect, but all forms of of music, directors with their movies, styles, cultures and etc.
@Wardfolio: Absolutely right, true! Look at all the crap people call Hip Hop today, pretty much the same as Rap and everything else, main stream garbage and most people don't even care about it, they "eat" what the government and music industries "serve" and shovel. I am really upset and dismayed about the actual situation. The 80s and 90s- born utter derogatory about 80s music, but what they don't realize is the fact that 80s are the classic basic for every music, but main stream screws it! :(
This was when hip hop was raw...going down to the swap meet and buying underground rap tunes from the back of some fools ride that was the shit! Miss them day, however, I am glad I lived in them days.
@Jahrass7 I don't think it did...Hip hop was on the back burner and only the top rappers were making a little bit of money. True mainstream media took something that was hot and made a lot of money by making a movie about a culture that most of America especially in the white neighborhoods could never understand. But, this still open many door and possibilities for hip hop artist to get recored and movie deals, which was great.
@wcbombers21 man you were lucky to have lived those hip hop days where it weren't just about gangstas and hos. i for one envy your time where hip hop was just there for music and nothin' else
all theses tech songs..who knows what their names are??? all almost sounds the same, but i like the movie "BREAKIN" better..... the breakdance movies was when street life was good before it got polluted with guns, street gangs, drugs and alcohol. someone always messes up the good times.....hmm.
This movie is from 1984, and i was bron in 1987... I would have loved to live the time of the movie. Well, i'm from Chile so i would have to move over there xD!!!
Mad props for all those who keep hip-hop alive. Mad props for all of ya'll!
these days created the days we live in now... love at what they are wearing... the club scene reminds me of what clubs we have today.... oh man its crazy
when i was a kid my mom would say that in the morning to us, we used to watch this flick so much even she could quote it! Ahhh the memories, love this movie.
