I'm really psycho! This is the first man who would make me look humane! I'm so excited!!! Plus he's hot and Amy Lecter sounds really good. I would love to help his sharpen his knives and get rid of all the murder evidence..
At the time that Hannibal Rising takes place, AIDS was not such an epidemic as it is today. AIDS is actually a relatively new disease, and wasn't really brought to light until the mid-80's or so. So I doubt that getting AIDS from his victims wasn't really a big deal with Mr. Lecter, at least during his youth. I'm sure that later in his career he was a little more careful in choosing who he ate, though.
@DamienTepps Saliva cannot transmit hiv, or aids. Blood and semen yes. But in order to get aids from saliva you would literally have to drink buckets of it.
@toomanynamestopick - Umm, AIDS can be transmitted by Blood like you said. Hannibal is a cannibal, as everyone knows. He would be consuming blood with the flesh, so yeah he would contract AIDS/HIV if he ate someone that had it.
i read all the hannibal series and seen every movie. manhunter was more like the book than red dragon believe it or not and this movie changed little from the book and as most movie adaptations just sped things along. the casting was great. in my mind there couldve been only one thing to make this better. sir anthony hopkins. in the book hannibal is narrating because hes remembering. hopkins could've done that bit if only for the intro.
Awsome video! To be honest, I LOVE this movie. Gaspard is the best actor in it and I don't think that they could have picked anyone else to play Hannibal. 'Lets sing for Mischa!"
Furthermore, I just need to touch on the subject of these people ranting on how they don't like him. Don't watch a video and comment on you not liking him. (Just don't press on the link or think about it) People who think someone else would have been better, Great. But Gaspard nailed this movie and he deserves cudos.
He ate his sister accidentally without even knowing. He knows that they ate her and killed her, But he comes to terms at the end that he ate Mischa also. He bit his cheeks off because after Hannibal brought the fish he got from Paul 'The butcher' Momund to the chateu (SP?), The cook told him this: "The best morsels of the fish are the cheeks. That is true of many creatures." So, Hannibal remembers and decides to eat his cheeks. (Also, Perhaps he's getting back for him eating Mischa's cheeks) :)
I hate the guy the got to play hannibal in this movie, im reading the book right now , im past the exploding boat at the end i have 1 chapter left, ive seen all of the movies and ive read all of the other books ...i cant stand the young hannibal actor
yeah I know, I found out after searching him and turns out he is french... right? I might have it wrong... it's been a long time since I looked it up.
I liked him being with Clarice in the books. It was pretty "sweet" if that's what you want to call it. But yea, they shouldn't have taken Margot Verger out either, what is with these movie people?

No, it's not wierd that you cried...I rooted for Hannibal to kill everyone that he killed...well, with the exception of the guy who had kids, I know, wierd...yeah I enjoyed the film very much...and people need to stop trying to compare Gaspard to Anthony, we realize he isn't Anthony, but the whole point is it's a backstory, it's not meant to be exact. That's just my opinion on it, I don't mean to sound rude, but it drives me crazy when people compare...

Jodi was supposed to be in Hannibal, but she said Harris had to change the ending (if you read the book it's quite different from the movie, which sux but anyhoo). By the time he had done that Jodi had moved on to another project so they snagged Julianne...

and i rooted for him to kill everyone he killed, too.. i felt his anger. It was weird.. i suppose it's because i put myself in his place, with my sister being Mischa. I did it subconciously, but I did it all the same.
Yeah, but I suppose we can't possibly imagine having seen what he saw at the age of 8. I would be willing to bet anything that if you or me had gone through what he did, we'd be that same way. What happened to him is just something we can't even imagine, so we can't understand the psych. aftermath of it.
Yeah.. I don't understand how someone can make an 8-year-old eat his beloved younger sister after he just watched her die.. and what's worse, is that he TOLD HIM about it.. I've read all of Thomas Harris' Hannibal Books.
While Hannibal is my Favorite of the Books, this is my favorite of the Movies.
I don't see why all the people who read the book hate this movie so much.
Gaspard Ulliel did a fantastic job at portraying a young Hannibal Lecter.
The only bad Hannibal Movie out there is Manhunter. Enough Said.
