  • vassili is and was a hero.

  • Is this the russian campaign during ww2

  • @divinedvon Yes.

  • @MAXizhere Yeah, she is. Her name is achel Weisz.

  • @imnotgivingmynametou *Rachel Weisz.

  • vassilli is a hero!!!!!

  • @22hcg yeah the best sniper ever!

  • just like the scene from call of duty 5 in rusia

  • @slo48 fuck CoD

  • @slo48 this was way before cod.

this would be were they got that idea from :P

  • MAXizhere yes she is

  • CoD is a plague among the world, Turning people into complete spack headed faggots.

  • I think all CoD games must be banned because they make some people retarded :P

  • @Scoutrussp7

not all peoples :/ but you right :)

  • This movie was shown in Russia. The part where Russians had machine guns to the backs of their own soldiers was not true. All the Russian veterans of that war walked out of the theater in utter disgust over the inaccuracies of that scene. They lived it . Some of them served in the same group with Vassily. But of course, this bit of information never makes it back to the USA. Americans just assume the movie is purely accurate.

  • @RacerXGTO actually apparently, there were some instances in the army where this happened, really it was to illistrate the point of how brutal the war was, for instance, prior to WWII stalin had most of the commanding officers for the failed attack on finland executed, or more approprietly assasinated after the failure. its not realistic, but it makes the point.

  • @Gam3rzulu That part was an 'after the fact'. Stalin ordered them to be executed.

  • @RacerXGTO ? sorry but Im not quite sure what that term means, please elaborate = D (dont worry im open to new opinions and im not really gonna argue)

  • @Gam3rzulu It's quite simple. Soviet commanders failed to take a position during a battle. Stalin throws a tantrum, becomes infuriated, orders them to return to Moscow, where, they are arrested and then sent to be executed.

  • @RacerXGTO ha thanks for telling, history is very much one of those interesting things to study, there are a lot of misconceptions though, I wonder how people in the future are going to look at the Iraq and Afgan wars

  • @RacerXGTO i agree i had a great uncle that was in the russian army in ww2 and from what he says the people of russia love there country over everything else and by the time germany had gotten to staingrad every man woman and child where ready to give there lives for motherland thats why the don't even call it ww2 they call the war THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR they say that japan woke a sleeping giant germany woke up a sleeping bear

  • Call of Duty 1 and 5 copied alot from this movie :S

  • @devynkrivanek WaW based it on the real event not this movie. just pictures taken of the massacre.

  • rachel looks so hot in this video!

i would forgot the war and fuck her so hard till she cry

  • @tocotron1c Well, that's just great...

  • really nice video

  • is from Call of duty 1 and WaW :)

  • saw this vod 5 th time and still like it ^^

  • @devynkivanek ummm this movie was made in 2001 long before waw came out =P

  • How can a movie like (Enemy at the Gates) make a mockery out of the people who fought and died in WWII?. It can only be a mockery when the story is Distorted and Altered. What we need never forget about WWII is the fact that Cruel Nazi bastards and their allies tried to control the planet and failed thanks to the heroic deeds of people like "Vasily Zaitsev"

  • @Sclemtak

the story told in Enemy at the Gates IS distorted and altered. Zaitsev didn't win the battle of Stalingrad, 100s of 1000s of Soviet soldiers who sacraficed themselves to hold the city did. The duel between Zaitsev and his german adversary never happened, it was soviet propaganda. this film shows the red army as mindless cattle led to the slaughter. the "first man takes the rifle" stuff is nonsense as well.

  • @nath6644 It is a fact that Historians argue over the validity of the (Duel) but what is indisputable is that Vasily was a legendary sniper who was turned into a Hero by the soviets to boost the morale of the people and to scare the germans. No war movie is an accurate account but the likes of"U571" is what i call distorted. Enemy at the Gates remains true to who is who and what was what in most cases.

  • @nath6644 the duel was real they just exaggerated it a lot

  • @migitcommando

not according to many historians. it is becoming the accepted view that the duel didnt happen and was a result of soviet propaganda

  • @nath6644 the first man takes the rifle is very true in the beginning the soviet union didn't have enough rweaponsfor the huge army of the soviet union read up on your history

  • @nath6644 the first man takes a rifle is very true. The soviet union did not have enough weapons for the huge army of the soviet union and Zaitsev played a big part in the victory of Stalingrad. He had multiple confirmed kills on key people in the German army fighting for Stalingrad read up on your history

  • @Xplod232

read up on my history? i do, everyday. history is my passion. its you who needs to pick up a book.

    1) in the early stages of the war there were cases of soldiers fighting without weapons.however by stalingrad, the soviets were producing vast numbers of weapons and tanks after moving their factories to safety behind the Urals.

    2) Zaitsev played a symbolic role, but it was the bravery of 100s of 1000s of ordinary red army soldiers and the planners of operation uranus that won.

  • @nath6644 Perhaps the writers put all of those things in the script to show the viewers how careless Soviet commanders were with their soldiers' lives, which they were. This is a movie BASED on a true story, Vassily Zaitsev was an actual sniper who was among the best. This isn't a documentary, they are allowed to change a few things, most things were historically accurate.

  • Enemy at the gates is one of my favourite WW2 movies.

  • Comment removed

  • no1 copied any1, there both based on ww2 thats all jeeeez.

    1s a movie

    1s a game

    END OF.....

  • @japanigro no

  • Just enjoy the scene guys, don't compare a movie with a video game, even if the game itself has references from the movie!

  • ur comparing a video game to a war movie how old r u lil kids im a war veteran served two tours in iraq it aint no game theres no reset buttons theres no spawning theres just death so how bout u drop the games n open ur eyes to notice wats really going on in the world

  • I don't care what anyone else has said, that was a cool song.

  • Enemy at the Gates came out in 2001. Call of duty-1 and COD World at War (Games) came out in 2003+ 2008. Also the movie is far from an insult to the soldiers who fought in WWII as the Soviet and German command were Bastards to their own Soldiers it`s an Historical fact.

  • who cares which one came first? COD and Enemy at the Gates are both insulting to the memory of the people who fought in the second world war

  • @nath6644

HAHA... so we should pretend WWII never happened? No1ns insulting any1 by their actual name... the movies and games showcase what the war was like... Tons of ppl are interested in it obviously... if your just gonna cry about it then atleast dont come commenting here... go to ur mom :P. I atleast wanna remember how finland fucking crushed the soviets...

  • @swootwapa

if you think enemy at the gates or COD shows what ww2 was like, then that says it all...

  • @nath6644

Well, wtf, you make a better fucking movie... im talking about war movies in general. I know pritty fucking well what war was like in different places. if your not a war veteran then shut your damn mouth.

  • @swootwapa

there are good war movies...watch Come and See, Cross of Iron, Das Boot...

no im not a war veteran, but ive read enough to know that COD and enemy at the gates make a mockery of what real people went through

  • Comment removed

  • why does everyone keep replying to my fucking comments when i fucking know that cod copied from this movie now everybody just shut the fuck up about it alright

  • @devynkrivanek CoD sucks. Stfu.

  • @AnicanZone fuck you asshole licking fuckin dick fart

  • @SMART599 okay i fucking know

  • 0:06 tht looks like da mission 4 da russian campaign from da first Call of Duty where ur crossing da Volga river.

  • 0:43-046 looked like the Russian sniping mission out of COD World at War.... now i realized Treyarch is a freakin' idea stealer

  • And I'm about to watch EATG in about 55 minutes. WOOHOO!!!!!

  • You people are so fucking stupid. Nobody copied anybody. They were trying to be historically accurate.

  • @TheAGSproductions Your obvs stupid... I am a call of duty fan and thats copying EATG majorly.. both snipers in a foundtain with the same rifle except they added the scopes... they even waited for the planes to go acrosss.. yes they wanted it be historicly correct but they could of picked something more orginal.

  • @Liam0125

You are the one who is obviously stupid. Besides the fact that you can't take the time to spell obviously right you obviously can't tell the difference between copying and a homage.

  • @TheAGSproductions I failed English and what >.>

Your just ignorant, its clear they copied if CoD 1 wasnt even out when this film was out xD

    End of.

  • @TheAGSproductions thank you

  • The reason why WaW had to copy off of this was because EATG was so underpublicized at the time.

  • 0:43 i thought of call of duty WaW. if i would of saw just that i would of thought that

  • I do not understand why people are so fascinated by brutality ...

I watch movies but because of their own war stories

    sorry for bad english

  • Yeah world at war copied of enemy at the gates

Cuz this film came out in 2001 ... and Waw was 2008

  • Supose you were to die tonight, what would you say ?

  • yeah i know all of this is off of the movies but the creators said they talked to some marines and veterans of the war and then made the game

  • i always laugh when i see people who are saying that movies take ideas from CoD... this movie was out a long ass time b4 CoD WaW if u watch any war movie and then play a few levels of CoD youll get a serious case of deja vu.. not saying its bad i thnk its fun to play thru my favorite scenes from books and movies and stuff

  • this movie is biting off cod waw!

  • I hate movies where they get british to play russians and germans. I'd rather watch it with the actual languages and sub titles. "wow an english accent! This guy MUST be russian!"

  • people got to stop talking about call of duty, seriously this movie came out way before WaW

  • @monkeyboy600 I know This film came out in 2001 .... way before Waw which came out in 2008 i cant belive why people are so retarted and think that EATG COPIED OF WAW?!

  • @jamin337 lmfao yea really

  • its like all ww2 Cod's put together? eh? am i right?

  • I can't seem to understand why the russians send soldiers without guns to the enemy lines? They have no chance to survive,

  • @Broodjuh01 because they didnt have enough weapon so 2 man was going with 1 gun and when one gets killed second one takes the gun....

  • umm guys.... this movie came out way before cod waw

  • @dodgingaces ofcourse they had to copy it one of the BEST movies i have EVER seen!

  • i am also seeing similar clips in cod finest hour

  • There are more parts from WaW,

but i think WaW copied it from EATG.

  • you think? this movie is from 2001!

  • @gijper WaW had to of copied it, this movie was before the game was made

  • yea it was i just seen this and i agree

  • @gijper -jebo vam ja svima mater, onako uzgred bagro ...

  • @gijper not trying to be mean but cod 1-4 were based of these battles

  • @gijper Yeah treyarck did. this movie came out way before WaW did

  • @gijper yeah they actually did. I dont know why I even thought cod copied this if it was made like years before waw

  • @gijper Yeah And EAGT Copied from COD1

  • @gijper well thats obvs .. this film has been around longer than CoD 1..

  • @gijper is that true Tanja is in the Cod!? Cuz my friend have that cod and there is ome Tanja who is sniper?!

  • the parts 0:42 through 0:50 is off of call of duty world at war It's like the third level.

  • No it's the 4th, 'Vendetta'.

  • @AzNgiftedkid yeah you're right it's the 4th

  • Dudes seriously.. cod5 copied this, not the other way round

  • @devynkrivanek this is a real story dude...call of duty took all the part in stalingrad (CoD1 and WaW)

  • @devynkrivanek its a pokemon level

  • @devynkrivanek this came like 10 years before cod 5 -_-

  • @devynkrivanek

    its actually vise versa

eatg came out in 2000 or 2001, well before waw

  • @devynkrivanek i thought i would let you know most of cod stuff is from movies . cod got it form them

  • @devynkrivanek that was based off of enemy at the gates

  • @devynkrivanek WaW copied this movie dumbshit

  • @XsStrongX i know you poop dick licking mother fucker

  • @devynkrivanek ego faggot.

  • @AnicanZone fuck off bitch

  • @devynkrivanek no call of duty world at war is of the movie

the movie was in 2001 and the game a couple of years ago

  • @devynkrivanek Call of Duty gets alot of their ideas from movies

  • @BlackManSlim562 And other games.

  • Comment removed

  • @devynkrivanek 4th you mean

  • @devynkrivanek You mean "Vendetta" right?

  • @devynkrivanek This movie was made first...

  • @devynkrivanek You COD fags make me sick.

  • @ClassicRockFan1220 i couldnt agree more people think they know facts about war or guns based on what COD did and its fucking retarded

  • @devynkrivanek You mean Treyarch got inspired from this film and elements of the film are a part of the game. This film wasn't made because of COD...

  • @devynkrivanek Ya but at the begining its like the very first call of duty. the first russian level

  • @devynkrivanek You mean the part in World at War is based off this.

  • @devynkrivanek this movie came out way before WaW

  • some badass sniping. The soviets must have been trained well. Even though some of their training is illegal in the U.S.

  • its still just a movie -.-

  • @devynkrivanek they did not :S this is the sad thing in WW2 the only training they had is to go front lines

  • Yes - moovie is holly false. But RKKA in 1942 was not so good as Wermaht. Stalingrad and winter offencive of 1943 showed that the level of Stalin troups began to rise. But only after Orel-Kursk operation and, esp. - in 1944 the Reds bekame to dominate in the field. But - for Germans honor- elite Hitler regiments were very eff. even in 45.

  • At first - you did, nt answer my question. How much of 2,7 mill. Germans were killed by wheather or by russ. army?

Second - the whole numb. of KIA in Red Army in 1941-45 were about 7 millions. And it,s terrible figure. More than 20 mill. of non-combatants were killed in bombing, starvation, military actions and cons. camps (+ stalags in Germany/Europe).

Also more than 1 mill. of Nazi Axe States were KIA in East Front.

  • yeah but the conditions in stalingrad were very bad, the Russians didnt have enough ammo or food, so they were maybe better on other fronts, but here they were swarming the Germans which is how they won.

  • @GeeZedKay Probably not, actually. I remember watching this movie and being shocked with the scene in which the Soviets simply charged on to their deaths. By this point in the war, those tactics were simply no longer used. In Stalingrad, they proved to be superior to the Germans at urban warfare, and in fact some casualty lists say the Germans lost more soldiers in that god-forsaken town than the communists.

  • sorry but i disagree

stalingrad was a vital city for the soviet troops to be able to advance both sides fought alot to regain it, Germany had to fight on 2 different fronts, so had less troops but had better equipment. (from my point of view)

  • @GeeZedKay the Germans also created an impassible rubble town with their artillery completely eliminating their armor advantage. No panzers= No Fun

  • They were incredibly resourcefull the soviets. When it came to house to house fighting and urban warfare they managed to adapt alot more quickly as they had a better knowledge of the city. The germans had an army that wasnt trained for urban combat, they needed large amounts of open space to outmanuver the enemy. The soviets were like rats using holes between houses and sewers. The germans would spend all day taking a street then at night the soviets would sneak back in and retake it.

  • @hsybcmpny

    Exactly!

  • @hsybcmpny

Um, no the Germans were trained to battle in close combat situations but when the winter hit, the Germans stood no chance against the russians

  • The Germans main tactic of Blitzkrieg was to bypass, surround and isolate cities and strongpoints. Most of their tactics were based on fast moving fluid warfare. The last thing that any invading army wants to do is to get drawn into urban warfare against the local population which is what the majority of the defenders where. Every army gets trained for urban warfare but its only the defenders who are really prepared for it and have the advantage. The germans werent used to that kind of battle.

  • @hsybcmpny

Good point, didn't think of it that way.

  • the beginning of this when you see the boats, comes in call of duty 1

  • that part on 0:50 is called the town square massacre learn it in school

  • hey they use this part 0:50 in call of duty world at war....damn and i thought they made tha game up by themselfs hahahha

  • @RedLakeNation2009 and the end mission is about a real story in the war

  • Ramterlord - what you said doesn't prove that russia couldn't defeat germany by itself.

  • thehistorywatcher- If I'm not mistaken when Germany invaded Russia Stalin went to his holiday home in disbelieve for over 7 days... Russia was producing shoddy weapons before and after the war and without joint harassment from all sides Germany would not have been taken down just by Russia.

If anything the weather conditions in Russia killed more Germans than their troops.

  • Amen, but shabby? Maybe so but look at the AK as accurate as a shit from 10 thousand feet but will never die. And speaking of the Russians and Germans lets not forget Stalin's genocide killed more than Hitler ever came close, but your right.

  • How much Wermaht men in Russia were killed by wheather and by Red Army?

  • Great vid! 5 stars!

  • Russia was perfectly capable of beating Germany by itself and did so. The U.S. and Britain had little to do with it. Don't flatter yourselves.

  • eh all and all the nazis had the biggest and best military of ww2. If hitler wasnt dumb enough to try to take on britain, USA, and russia. He probably would have had all western europe to himself, be glad he was that dumb.

  • what a ggay song to such a good vid

  • realy stupid song

  • ya and whoevered minused me had a bad taste of music

  • anyone notice 0:42-051 is that part from call of duty 5 were you first meet that russian guy lol

  • yes

  • @tonywashy101065

no shit, the got the idea from the movie, and the movie got it from WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. Jesus.

  • that was in cod 5, enemy at gates was one of the movies that influenced some of the levels in campaign and multiplayer

  • Yes, the world should unite, that way the world can overpopulate worse than it is already and alot more people would die of starvation. Sounds good to me, because I'm sure everyone would rather die of starvation than die serving their country. And why would we be worried about the non-existing beings aka extraterrestrials? I hate ignorant people...

  • its too bad that we can't unite as one the human race is still killing each other Its not right people say its human nature but its really not its ignorance we are all human beings and need to unite to combine all of our knowledge and power we would be so much more capable to improve technology and work together as one to get further into space...we need to be worried about extraterrestrial intelligence not ourselves

  • excellent job

  • CCCP for ever ☭

  • Screw the CCCP forever.

  • how about you all shut the fuck up and watch the video

  • vasili gets laid lol

  • military rounds don't expand.

  • yeah they go all the way the fuck through, no breaking up, no expansion for maximum damage such as the NATO 7.62. Funny how there are "rules" to war. If the NATO round is what is "legal" I wonder what the rules of engagement are for using a 50 Cal. like a Barret, against infantry?

  • It's kind of dumb how there's a little hole in his head when they get shot. a round from a 98k is like 7.92mm I think. The top of his head should be gone. Great movie nonetheless.

  • True, and when Koenig is shot in the hand by the Mosin Nagant rifle-that would have blown halfe his hand off instead of just a hole like in the movie

  • My point exactly.

  • i knew that for a long time. i just dont care right now, okay? i dont always have to be right you know!

  • What the fuck am I talking about? It seems that you have answered my question. So obviously, you should know what I'm talking about. Anyways, since when have you actually cared? The names are still different! Jesus.

  • WWII was a horrible war because of the japanse torturing people and what they did to english, polish and americans
