i met and had dinner with the Blue Angels and did their private breakfast show in the desert it was nice. Thanks great amazing video. im going to fly my heli now and put a vid up ;)
I went to the first show so i didnt get to see him pass away. R.I.P Tod Green. for those you wondering: he fell of the the plane the second day from 200 feet in the air.
@Trolleatingpankakes nah, he fell off the plane and then hit the ground at hundreds of miles an hour. That's all. Who would die with just 200 feet fall and hitting the ground at speed like 200 miles an hour. I don't think anyone can die in a small accident like that. You seem to be a smart folk, what do you think? Do you think someone could die after falling 200 feet and hitting the ground at speed like 200 miles an hour?
When I saw him fall I couldn't believe that he wasn't wired for safety. A lot of people thought it was part of show and it was fake. I think that the air show should not allow these dangerous stunts without safety wiring. They were criticized for not stoping the show.
Speaking as some sort of safety expert; if I had seen this act SUCCESSFULLY performed on Saturday I would still have shut this act down and forbidden it from taking place not only the next day but FOREVER AFTERWARDS!!! Yet, people would have undoubtably thought I was being "too strict"! So, what occurs in the future? Should wing walking be banned? I think so. Or, if allowed to continue, only when using safety lines.
This was a great show, I got this one completely on video. But, for Sunday's, I stopped taping just soon as I saw him fall. I quit my camera, I would NOT follow him to the ground, It was not the correct thing to do. If ANYONE video-taped the whole thing...SHAME ON YOU!

I grew up in Harrison Township and watched Selfridge practice daily, right above my house, before every air show. God, those planes are loud!
As Selfridge is a military base, I also saw them practicing drops in Lake St. Clair. I always wondered what was inside of those huge bundles they would drop from various planes. I never saw them retreived...
@crazyguy1488 The man did this for 25 years, and you dont think he understood the risk involved? Im sure everyone knows the risk involved in doing what he did.If they dont then they are dumbasses.
@carlguyer With your kind permission I would say: to put a smile on people`s face, even doing some crazy stuff like that. As a former hanglide pilot, I totally understand that not everyone of us come to this world to spend their lives working in offices. No sir, I am pretty sure that he died doing what he loved to do. RIP Mr.Green and thanks for putting a smile on my face too.
@carlguyer Listen to the kids and people who are loving what he is doing. That's why he did it. He bought joy to people's lives. That is a priceless feeling.

The stupiest stunt must be, that a person suffering from Parkinson is trying to keep a moving target inside the frame. May I recommend a tripod for the next stunt.
@FCA1975 I am pretty sure youre right, and I suppose a responsible father knew as well. He hopefully set a side enough during his carreer to make sure his family was ok without him. He knew the risk an so did the family probably. But I still dont understand how people convince them selves that its the right thing to do.
@mikemaj82 It is not about the difficulty of the stunt. It is about what happens when you slip as there are no backup safety. So, while it may appear as relative difficulty of a monkey bar, the penalty for failed stunt is not a fracture but death. So it is more about brass balls.
Hm, how do people convince themselves to do such an extreme risk? People stand and know the chance he'll kill him self in the stunt is large. Im not suprised, of course he will die soon taking such risks as often as he did. Hope he planned for this and left enough resources for his family and that his wife marries a good role model for their child.
@yazmeizter Chances are he either could not or had to pay a hefty premier to get insurance because of the dangerous risks he tasks. Hopefully he did let the insurance company know what he does, because you know they will try anything to back out of making payments to the family.
