i have the same problem . my best gues is that something goed wrong when you have both wifi AND mobile connection turned on . if only one of the two is on there is no problem . also the problem accurs when you unlock the phone and open any app (even the native ones like the proplehub) before the wifi connection is established(again only if you have both wifi and your mobile connection turned on, seperatly there does not seem to be a problem.
The wifi on my titan work sporatically. I initially thought it was my wifi router. However, I have the same problem at other wifi hotspots. Wifi signal strength is showing as maximum but it just wont connect. POut it next to the Nokia Lumia and the Nokia connect to the same wifi router no problem....come on HTC get this sorted please.
I think updating my router's firmware + updating the HTC Titan's firmware did the trick, but I'm not 100% sure yet, I'll need some more tests to convince myself...
Think there's an odd solution to this...If you turn both data/3G and WiFi off, and then just turn WiFi on (leave data off), the temperamental behaviour disappears. I wonder if the problem is some sort of programming interference between data and WiFi?
I have the exact same problem with my HTC Titan... WiFi is not working, then I switch it off and then on again, and it starts to work. And yes, it is connecting to the same WiFi network when I switch it off and then on again... HTC really needs to do something about this...

I have this problem too. The recent software update didn't appear to make much difference.
