Rocky Harbour is not considered an outport as it has a road connection through Highway 430 (Viking Trail).
Its actually situated at the heart of Gros Morne National Park.
Wiltondale and Parson's Ponds are the true Gros Morne National Park gateways.
If you ever visit Gros Morne, you'll definitely want to come back there.
You might want to go north of the park as Northern Newfoundland is unique from the rest of island. Don't forget to bring a sweater, even during summer months.
We do not define outports as communities having no roads. Almost all NL commuties have a road, and almost all, except large centers like St. John's, Corner Brook, Grand Falls, etc, are considered outports.
