Another cool thing about this movie is the fact that it is actually a spin-off from the classic western "Shane" starring Alan Ladd...same type of characters, same type of plot, same type of circumstances, etc..You called actually call it a remake of sorts.

Well those bad guys are Sheriff Stockburn and his deputies...It was already established earlier in the movie that these guys were crooked and bad...Instead of enforcing the law, they are basically mercenaries and henchmen to whomever pays them the most money.
Yeah, but sadly Clint manages to totally miss the lighted match/flame when he throws the water. It just wets his clothes and leaves the match still aflame.
