is this tower still manned in the summer? I tend to think not cos the trees on either side have grown higher and so the view isnt that great. if it was in use they would cut the trees down blocking the views.
Actually all of these towers have outhouses near the base of the tower. The outhouses are the cleanest outhouses I have ever seen. Plenty of TP, no foul odors, remember most of these towers are still being used today so they want clean facilities too.
There is, however, no water.
Take a look at the Clear Lake Tower video from Hangar59 (myself) there was 10 feet of snow, all the outhouse was buried except the roof.
You are correct. This tower is no longer used for fire watch activities.
