LOL I LOVE correcting egg heads like yourself. First off.. Ford only outsold GM ONE year.. And thats because GM had a "stigma" due to the bailout money. GM has ALWAYS made BETTER quality vehicles than ford. Also Ford maxxxed out their V6 mustang to make ONE HP more than the Camaro. Yet what people dont understand is that fords ONLY sports car IS the mustang. Yet GM makes the Camaro AND the Corvette. It would be insane for Chevy to make a Camaro thats AS fast as the ZR1 or even the standard Z06.

the GT out runs the SS camaro and get better mpg's then the ss camaro ..and remember this?..out of all american muscle/pony cars ever made in the U.S since 1964 / same year the GTO came out and this includes any muscle/pony car offered by AMC at the time as well .the stang [NEVER] went out of production since new ,camaro cant say that

Mike Rowe, Im sure in your garage there is a Silverado LOL. I dont blame you for going with the money but TRUST me you wont see him riding around in a "explorer" or whatever you want to call it. I wish they would post those pix of Mike Rowe in his Escalade with the hotttt brunette. Escalade is so far beyond what ford would EVER be its INSANE LOL! Love you mike! @carmencolumbusohio if G,M is far beyond anything ford can produce..then why after 33 long years cant chevy outsellf ford?..v6 mustang out runs and gets better mpg's then the v6 camaro..and same for the v8 stang to the camamro ....anf ford didnt take a dime in bailout money ...and anyway ..an escalade is just a glorified chevy anyway

@390merc65 Also GM's pickups are BETTER than fords. Why else would GM make a 100K mile TRANSFERABLE warranty!? because its a GREAT truck. Also if you do your homework GM sells MORE pickups than FORD! If you add up all of fords variations of the F-150 and compare it to the sales of the Silverado and Sierra they BEAT ford. Not by much but they do beat them.

@carmencolumbusohio GM is making that warranty to get business,,,chrysler did the same just a few years ago and since stopped that only because business has improved for chrysler ..i know..my niece went to buy a new jeep and was told that warranty that my sister got a year earlier was no longer available ..business picked up ...any car company can give a 20 year /500.000 mile warranty if they wanted to but lets face it..that wont happen .it was done [only] to get ppl to buy the product

Respond to this video...maybe GM sells more trucks then ford..but brand for brand ,,ford outsells chevy,,or gmc ...G.M markets both the chevy and GMC as different brands of trucks ..and like i said before..GM will offer a better warranty and it looks good in commercials , but the hard proof is..the ford is the better truck .now dont take what i said out of context ,,GM makes a great truck as well ...i'd rather GM truck over [ANY] jap built truck any day of the week

But the Engine, Suspension, Brakes ETC. are DIFFERENT. PS.. Whats wrong with Chevy using Cadillacs platform? Ford and Lincoln have done it for decades as well. People are stupid.. @carmencolumbusohio and i think you have it backwards..chevy isnt using a caddy platform..if anything the caddy is using a chevy platform ..how long has the suburban been out?...this is were the escalade came from ..beside's hp..what is the huge differnce between the chevy and caddy engine?,,tell me a 55 pontiac is a huge leap forward over the same 55 chevy?..not at all..and yes ford did the same..they all did it at one time or another ..a56 merc isnt much different over a 56 ford

Does anybody have engine bay shots or under body shots? Are the two engine options traditionally mounted? I assume they are transverse mounted based on FWD!?! Waaaait.... FWD....WHAT? Ummm edge, escape, flex and windstar are already in that segment. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I guess I am a little disappointed. I was hoping for something based on the best selling truck of all time. With a traditionally mounted turbo 4 and turbo 6.

My dad just got a Ford Focus SES and I drove around for while, honestly the quality of this car was great, very fun to drive. I can't even imagine how awesome this truck must be, to hell with imports, Ford's doing it right!

The question Is: Should Explorer evolve, reinventing the segment? Since virtually single-handedly invented the SUV segment, it's only fitting that it should reinvent it.

Is the difinition of Explorer cast in stone only as the original body-on-frame SUV? I think not and I'm surprised that quite a few people have such a static idea of what an Explorer is. It has evolved since the early 1990s and will continue to do so.

At least you could have called it Explorer II if you were going ot build something that isn't an explorer and call it an Explorer.
