  • @2223332224 how are you? :s

  • Tohu Vavohu!

Any Jews that actually got that?

  • @ThannTheMan I'm jewish but I don't get it...I blame the reformed judaism movement :D

  • @greesamu Well, it basically means Chaos. It's used in genesis - I think it's usually translated as "unformed and void" Better Reformed than Unformed, eh? SEE WHAT I DID THERE

  • Hmm.. Never heard of them until one of their songs was in a machinima I watched and I liked it a lot.

  • Seeing them live was the greatest thing.

  • Hmmm...Fallout mods, you know what i'm talking about...

  • @JuliusAkavirius Shit man, I remember buying Fallout after listening to this for the first time...its almost as though the game was designed to this music.

  • sounds like christmas

  • 8:44 - 9:02

    love that guitar man

  • @viendolacompu Bloody love that part, too.

Sends shivers down my spine whenever I hear it.

  • : )

  • amazingly beautiful, theres a year in m life where i exclusevly woke up to that record

  • The closing violin solo. I would like it to be longer. Not much, just another 5 minutes.

  • If this song resonates really deeply with you ........... you might want to see a psychiatrist.

  • @l33tpwnzord If it doesn't, right?

This music has a lot to it, unlike modern garbage. Plus, the build-up and the Bridge make it much more satisfying and carry more intensity. If you don't care of it, that is your opinion, and mine is mine.

  • 8:28 <--- The Eargasm Button

  • Nobody was ready for this.

  • This song captures beauty and conveys it as an emotion. That's what you're feeling as you're listening to this song.

  • Saw this live today. All i can say is "Wow."

  • @oaketree Saw them on wednesday and thursday night and seeing them tonight, Soooooo epic.

  • this song is too short......

  • This kinda gives you little tingly feelings in your finger tips and sometimes it's too much to handle and you need to turn it off but you can't cause it's so amazing.

  • I beheld the earth,

    And, lo, it was waste and void;

And the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled,

And all the hills moved to and fro.

I beheld, and, lo, there was no man,

And all the birds of the heavens were fled

  • i fuckng love instrumental bands

  • genuinely the best song ever made. a masterpiece. this is what music should be about. ive had this on my ipod for 2 years and it never bores me. so much emotion and build involved. really does actually make me to want to cry at the end. i just wish that when i come out of university, i can be as creative and powerful in my profession as gybe are in music.

  • Right now , listening to the echoed guitar is something we've all felt , the utter hollowness when in despair , isolation and rage . when the song goes from sadness to straight up courage and power . It get louder an I feel something other then this . this song makes me think about the sudden destitute a man can become . I let my friends go , because I couldn't give a shit what happens to me. When I listen to this, its my souls cry.

    I hear it , and I'm angry.

  • I am feeling like this song is giving me the power to do things that people tells me they are never going to happen, with music me says everything is possible

    stuning song great(:

  • I think...that it would please me if this was the last generated sound playing in the world after -everyone- has died/gone away, by whatever means fate might bring. Just looping over and over the surrounding stillness.

  • back in high school I was extremely depressed, didn't talk to anyone really, and whenever i would listen to this song it would just bring tears to my eyes. Just thinking about how beautiful everyone was, and how amazing it was to be alive and existent. How most people my age underestimated the truly amazing potential they had within them and within this world.. I grew up became a man, am no longer depressed, but still listening to this music makes me weep in sheer amazement.

  • this song is in the playthings mod for fallout 3 ^_^ I LOVE GSYBE!!!

  • My favourite song of all time. Bar none.

  • @FallenDon That' s two uf us ;))))

  • post-rock. but i personally feel like godspeed goes so far beyond that. a lot of their stuff could be considered orchestral, i feel.

  • what genre of music is this considered as?

  • @SkateKanata Most databases will list it as Indie/Alternative or Post-rock.

  • @SkateKanata I'd have to say it's probably post-rock according to critics. Although, according to me, it's more progressive rock; it incorporates those weird time signatures and orchestral phrasing and whatnot with rock. If you like this, try bands like Gong or King Crimson.

  • 8:27 on is the greatest climax to a song I've ever heard.

  • wonderful!

  • Best GY!BE Song

  • I shook hands with Mike Moya. I'll never forget that day.

  • Heard this track in the middle of the night years ago on a head trip listening to KSPC with a tape recorder ready for anything...got to record it from start to finish....tape got stolen but the name of the band stuck in my head for years...and here I am hearing it again for the first time on you tube...~Thanks ~=j

  • tohu wa vohu = chaos and darkness. something like that

  • i have my ticket for the show!!!! can't fuckin' wait

  • The only Godspeed song that can fit on a single youtube video.

  • A song that tells the story of salvation. Ecstatically beautiful

  • 10 min ecstasy. This song should be on the drug list ;)

  • @hrkrabbe it has all of the drugsfeelings in it.

They played on the best consert i have been to

  • Catarsis

  • Soul crushing really, but so damn beautiful

  • Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.

  • this is the song that plays when god has an orgasm

  • @nunker66

    sounds pretty fucking ominous.

  • Tohu va bohu. That's what the letters mean.

  • wow. eargasm.

  • THIS MAKES ME HEAL MY SPIRIT AND MY SOUL

  • @ebardfull Oh yes, mine too.

  • you dont even need drugs

to enjoy the fucking beauty of this shit

    thats how good it is

  • mindblowing. not music, this is heaven.

  • @Farcallo Yeah, you are so right.

  • Is an orgasm!

  • Is there anything better than music in this world?

  • @gojira44 Is there anything better than THIS track in this world ? it's a musical orgasm.

  • @gojira44 Pot and music combined? Pot or LSD.

  • @hamishd01 this is ten times better then anything you can imagine

  • @gojira44

    Music made by GY!BE

  • @gojira44 Only the music you'll here in heaven when you die! Even then this band might be playing that music!!!

  • @infinitideagames no heaven, only nothing.

  • @gojira44 top music reasearch says no there is nothing better and more inspiring than music

  • @gojira44 I agree, music is indeed the best thing in the world.

  • @gojira44 Well, music and boobs share the first place.

  • @gojira44 Music is the real religion!

  • @gojira44 weed

  • @gojira44 Brownies...with music.

  • @gojira44 chocolate

  • @gojira44 you`re right/music is the greatest thing man has ever done/there is something i don`t trust about people when questioned on their musical preferences who just say oh... anything with a good beat

  • @gojira44 Nope, not really. It seems in every culture in the world, there is some type of music and people who enjoy and use music every day. Wherever there are people, there is music... It's amazing stuff.

  • @gojira44 pussy.

  • @sabergun /watch?v=AO43p2Wqc08

  • @ya000Marzipan haha. that's awesome. I wasn't being serious anyway.

  • @sabergun ;-)

  • Big L "put it on" is next on my playlist... from melodramatic to fun and goofy... here we go.

  • For some reason, this song always gives me pictures inside my head, of a beautiful world, destroyed by humans. No animals, no nature, no nothing.. Only black smoke and ashes. Beautiful and frightening at the same time. GY!BE is much more than music for me.. god I love these guys.

  • @Thusyanthan are you a hippy?

  • @TheHQMusicChannel No im not but I do understand people who think I am after I read my own message. Guess I was on another planet while listening to GYBE. Sorry bout that.

  • Nuit Blanche 2009 Toronto, check it out, this song was used in an installation pice using real construction cranes titled "Dancing Cranes", King west, or check out my video on it by wingedassemblage, the whole 24 minute version was used, only caught a minute of it on video, talk about shivers all over and tears, most moving moment ever, that was Nuit Blanche Toronto 2009

  • Should have made a longer version , i love the ending.

  • This song makes me want to cry every time.

    So beautiful.

  • It is very thought provoking, makes me think about the past.

  • @uhmkthanx I get the exact same feeling everytime.Words are totally worthless when it comes to describing the emotions that such songs give you.

  • @uhmkthanx agree.

  • i sing it every moment, even when i am sleeping... poison in my blood...

  • those strings at the end just kill me

  • 3:49 - 7:45 amazingly sad. This song was perfect background music for a fantasy trilogy that I read a few months ago.

  • and what trilogy would that be?

  • Percheron, by Fiona McIntosh. Most of the time I listen to something like the Gladiator soundtrack when reading epic fantasy books, but Moya was really well suited to this trilogy for some reason (despite the fact that the books weren't quite that sad or anything).

  • ha ha, well I'll have to check out the series, it looks quite good actually!

  • My favourite epic fantasy series is A Song of Ice and Fire, by George R R Martin. If you haven't read that... that's what you need to check out! :)

  • fucking great memories with this song.

  • What can you do but bow and lose yourself in the majestic awe that is GSY!BE

  • amazing melodic stuff

  • Are they an Israely band?

Because they wrote on the album cover "Thowo Va Voho" - means "Chaos"..

  • No, they are from Montreal

  • and the back cover shows a diagram of a molotov cocktail i italian

  • They are from Montreal, but Efrim Menuck is Jewish. The first album of one of his other projects, A Silver Mt. Zion, is heavily influenced by it .

  • gy!be are absolutely brilliant!

  • love!

  • lovely song!

thanx for posting the full version!

  • Ich liebe diesen Song. Ich könnte ihn an manchen Tagen einfach nur hoch und runter hören!!!!

  • Hey this is a really good song!

  • Bello y poco confortable
