And contrary to what you said, the BMW engine was the most powerful engine in F1 for a long time and BMW-Williams had the fastest car a lot of the time but never put together wins and points as well as Ferrari and Schumacher could.
BMW had the most powerful engine at that time (i think it was like 705hp not sure thou) but it was still unreliable, it damaged several times during the raaces, obviously making any win impossible...

When Montoya clearly showed to be better than Schumy the game started,It's very easy to win when you have Barrichello working for you (what a shame),when you have the blu Ferrari(Sauber) working for you (what a shame) and when you have Fia-Judges working for you(disgusting). montoya was simply awesome but he made too many silly mistakes and wasnt always consistent. But he was a throw back to the old days when drivers overtook you on the track not in the pits. When he had the right car under him he was brutally fast.

Montoya didn't join F1 until 2001, Schumacher changed from a white and blue helmet to his infamous all red one at the 2000 Monaco GP.

Montoya was a fat lump of shit who frequently threw his car at his rivals. His whole attitude was "fuck it, you let me pass or I run us both of the road". That's not skill it's just arrogance .... and it's easy to do when your not good enough to have think about winning a championship.

i half agree and half disagree with some comment here i don't think he was as good as shummi but i do think he made people start racing to win and gave shummi someone to race against he could have done better but a lack of consistency with the car (and at time himself) and a few accidents which weren't his fault meant he never really put in a strong challenge. however he did make the races alot more exciting with his unpreditability. he stopped in from being the pressesion it has become today :(

Montoya to F1 it mean that Shummy was not a God and that anybody could pass him....after montoya entered F1, everybody started to race for 1st position and not second after shummy..... The races were more fun to watch , he was the best driver at that moment .. alone with Ralf with a car that was less powerful than the ferrari they manage to race them

Stats say it all. He was good, but Schumacher was the best. Aside from 2003, he was never in a real position to challenge Schumacher. And contrary to what you said, the BMW engine was the most powerful engine in F1 for a long time and BMW-Williams had the fastest car a lot of the time but never put together wins and points as well as Ferrari and Schumacher could.

BMW had the most powerful engine at that time (i think it was like 705hp not sure thou) but it was still unreliable, it damaged several times during the raaces, obviously making any win impossible...

Great video!!! Ufortunatelly, JPM was so unconsistant in F1. Also the mafia between Ferrari and FIA made thing even worst in 2003. Anyway, he is the greatest colombian driver of all time, and now at NASCAR he is currently doing a good job his year.
PD: I'm colombian, I'm Montoya fan, but also I'm fair with the facts. Montoya is a great driver (was a great driver in F1), but he was unconsistant.

F1 is a politic power game. When Montoya clearly showed to be better than Schumy the game started,It's very easy to win when you have Barrichello working for you (what a shame),when you have the blu Ferrari(Sauber) working for you (what a shame) and when you have Fia-Judges working for you(disgusting). Schumy was good but.give those "facility" to any other good driver and he surely 'll be WC .Montoya had all this "against" so his job in F1 has been simply extraordinary

Side question to all with conspiracy theories against "The Great" JPM. So now that he's out of political F1, who's against him in Nascar? Don't see him as a champion there either - what happened to the Mozart with the wheel? A move to an easier series should've opened him up to trophies left and right (and dont start defending Nascar being harder than F1) .
