  • @anglerfly I have not seen him at the shop lately, so I am not sure how far along he is. If I see him I will find out.

  • it sure is loud that's for certain

  • The first comment I got said it is a 165, so I guess that is the roll size.

  • It sounds much like a Wurlitzer 165 organ. I have recordings of the Wurlitzer 165 organ at Glen Echo, Maryland and that is perhaps the best of the surviving Wurlitzer 165s. I would add a second rollframe, facade and swell shutters to the organ so that it resembles a Wurlitzer 165 in its outward appearance

  • What a sweet sounding organ. Yes, it sure sounds like a little Wurlitzer 105,those little flageolets are sweet as pie! and it is a pleasure to listen to. Who built this and how do i contact? I would like to know more about how it was made. Thanks again for posting this.

  • Builder lives in Fairview N.C. and is a member of the band organ club. I listened to organ for 3 hours (my ears were ringing!), but never got his name. I asked permission to post this on YouTube and he will be playing in area again soon so I hope to get more info then. He is planning to add a hand carved front to organ too.

  • Thank you ! Would sure like to see this little gem again on You Tube!

  • Interesting organ. I can see block valves from Doyle Lane, and a Russ Doering spool frame on this organ. Though it is a 165-scale organ, it sounds to me like the pipework is more like a 105; I hear that characteristic flute-piccolo-flageolet sound on the melody. Also, it seems like there isn't a very deep bass on this organ, though that could be the fault of the microphone not catching the low notes. I can also see it's decorated up for Christmas!

  • Thanks for your comments. I used a digital camera to record the organ so I am sure sound is not great. The bass notes were there, but didn't record well. I wish I had written down more info on it, but I was too wrapped up in listening to it. Volume was amazing with no amplification!

  • Volume should be amazing since these were made for outdoor places or large carousel spaces. Nice to hear one in tune. Quite an accomplishment. Nicely done for sure.
