  • Superb layout and detail. I notice you dont put much ballast on your track, whats the reason for that?

  • @jasonandjoesrailway No reason at all except for the points where it causes problems, Think a lot of the under ballasted area`s are the older ones , I have since bought one of those ballasting aids, so getting more one these days.,

Thanks for the compliment on the layout

    Dave

  • Name your price lol

  • @MrSuperMooman Wife say`s it can go ..

  • Not had to move mine, but all I can say is remove as much as you can without damaging your track, or just selll the lot and start again at your new place

  • @howarth004 I am putting this layout in my book of best OO/HO scale model train layouts I've ever seen. Well done. If only you had a hornby live steam mallard or silver link on that layout then I would put this layout on the top of my list but right now it is the 2nd best one i've seen. as I said before superb and fantastic job.

  • @PalomboDylan Thank Dylan , no live steam for me ,bit too complicated, and possible accidents

  • im moving soon and i have a layout like yours and i dont know how to move it, please can you help??

  • That looks just superb. Well done on a fantastic layout.

How do you control the points for that lot?

Track laying must require a certain amount of dexterity?.. :)

  • @matthewt1501 Thanks Mathew..some of the points are contolled electricaly with switches and the rest by hand where I can reach. Laying the track is relativly easy, it is pulling it back up that is a problem (I keep changing the way it goes)

  • @howarth004

The size of it almost calls for it's own signal box! :) Or Hornby Rail Master or whatever it's called. (The computer thingy From Hornby for Model Railways)

I'm the same, I'm only ever happy with the track layout for a couple of months at a time, so I know what you mean... A siding there, a branch here, It never stops. Only gets worse when the weather is awful.... :)

  • Exceptional layout, congratulations!!

  • @Hereman7 Thank you very much for your comment.

  • SUPERB;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

  • @488scooby ThanK You.......

  • What a superb layout Dave!! Incredible detail,

How many years did this take to get to this stage & what controller are you using for all the loco's & lights etc, got to be one of the best I have seen on youtube, Many thanks for showing the video. All the best Clive

  • @clivej148 Thank you for your compliment Clive, it took 3 years to complete , but they are never compleated, alsways changing and adding to it , bit more of a winter hobby though

    Cheers

    Dave

  • layouts looking great dave keep up the good work

  • @johnnyboy349 thanks , not done a lot latley , gets a bit hot in that loft.

  • is all ur lighting and acessories powered up to the bus

  • @modeltrainteen95 Sort of , but it is a seperate bus run from 12 volt transformer, and there are 2 of these.

  • @modeltrainteen95 Sort of , but it is a seperate bus run from 12 volt transformer, and there are 2 of these. some of the othere effects are 3 volts so again they are run seperatley

  • your layout is top notch best on youtube for a loft one

  • @modeltrainteen95 Thanks for your kind comment

  • Will do thanks, ive just posted a new vid of my final positioning of my layout, ive just got to add a couple more sidings then im going to add buildings etc but thanks for the encouragement.

  • Thanks mate.

  • @biggkevv1973 No problem , if I can help any time just get in touch

    Dave

  • Ive only recently got into doing this, because recently ive a lot of time on my hands so i decided to give this a go. Im going to my first show at the end of the month so like yourself maybe it'll give me some ideas.

  • @biggkevv1973 You will enjoy it , a lot of problems can arise , but when you overcome them , it can be most satisfying, best of luck with it.

  • Hope im not going to far here but all i can say is that is a fantastic layout, absolutely splendid...even the missus was impressed!! Well done mate i just wish i had the patience to achieve something like this myself and thanks for showing everyone.

  • @biggkevv1973 Thank you for your too kind remarks, Like you I started with just a basic layout and after going to a few model railway shows, I decided to have a go at it.

  • Great layout, what do you do in your spare time :-)

  • @Rocketboy1950 thanks, yes it does take up a bit of time, but better than sat around doing nothing (i wish)

  • And your small world is grwing and growing! ;-)) Thank you Dave for sharing, Uli.

  • @UliWW Thanks Uli hope you like it

  • Great layout - really enjoyed the vid

  • @wd23st Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the comment

  • Top quality model railway.

  • @iantrack Thank you very much for your kind comment

  • a model railway is never really finished

  • @ShaurntheSheep I Know that is why I put the question mark , I have kidded myself many times that it was completed

    Cheers

    Dave

  • Hi Dave. A friend has been asking about high quality HD video and i am forwarding this video to him so that he can see the quality you produce with that fine camera! A good reason also for me to enjoy another look around your wonderful layout!

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER It would show a lot better if I used a tripod Mike, as I am not the steadiest with a camera, think the one you did with your tz 10 turned out very good.

    Dave

  • @howarth004 Thank you Dave.I even got the camera to sit on a wagon to be pulled around by a train for part of the journey. I dont have enough clearance for it to run around the rest of the layout! I didnt use a tripod with the TZ10 as the camera is small enough to get in there quite close and rest on the baseboard.. Anyway its fun to experiment!

  • Very great layout.

  • @WoelkerVideo Thank you

  • Fun.

  • @McDonaldFiveO thanks , as you say fun

  • what can I say a truly great layoutand very enjoyable clip

    Stewart

  • @hollpoll Thanks Stewart +running short of idea`s , what next ?? Electric Tams would look mice

  • You must have some electric bill lighting all them houses and buildings, hope your claiming the nectar points, great advice as always, cheers Tony.

  • @sheba31 Hi Tony, what you missed was there was sonar panels on the back of each one , and I am now selling electric back to the Grid (I wish) not sure as EDF do then nectar points, worth looking in to.!!

    Cheers

    Dave

  • Well Dave - It has really improved a lot since I saw you last and I know you will probably argue against this idea but I think it is time you invited Railway Modeller or BRM along to do an article. They will probably be a bit sniffy because you haven't copied a particular venue but I see many articles of layouts no where near as attractive as yours.

I remain in awe of your attention to the hobby and really like to keep coming back and looking at your latest videos. You are an inspiration.

    MC

  • @AGR281HR Hi Malcolm, thanks for you comment, by the way I did get my layout picture in February`s edition of Model Rail, how is your layout comming on?

    All the Best

    Dave

  • Thanks for sharing that with us. Truely inspirational. I need to pause the video occasionally just to look at some of the cameos.Yes, time to do battle with weeds which conflicts with modelling. But when it's too cold in the garden you can get into that well insulated loft and enjoy the trains. Well done, John

  • @practice264 thanks John, it is a hobby that lets you use your imagination, and one I enjoy, as well as gardening and of course my Koi Carp

    dave

  • Really well done! :D

  • @loghead19 Cheers have many hours of pleasure doing it

  • Excellent! Fantastic view of the whole layout at the beginning! Smart Jubilee with the suburban cars at the end. :)

  • @MrPetrolhead09 Cheers yes that jubilee is one of my first dcc Alberta from Bachmann

  • Wow ne wonder you have a smile on ye face dave after seeing that id permintly have a smile, id be up their all day with a layout that good , thanks for the site info about welding flash, also the gypsey bonfire is on as well, with the bonfire do you get the twigs logs etc or is it just the light, thanks dave, exellent layout mate, well done, regards hugh

  • @wattass7 Cheers Hugh the flickering light for the fire was from Express Models ,MOEDELX will have the same, but I just cut some small sticks from twigs off the hedge in my garden, then put a bit of black paint around .

    dave

  • Fantastic as always , a great inspiration to us all .

  • Fantastic as always . A great inspiration to us all .

  • @REGWARNE12 Thanks Phil, not sure what next move is, probably spend more time gardening now???

    Dave

  • some great alterations here dave well done !. like the water it does look better . I like the gypsy fire I have a similar intermittent bulb which I am thinking of using for my little welder man in a shed !.

  • @chrisrussell1 Thanks Chris, now running out of idea`s , although I fancy a go at that Falla Road system

  • Buger Dave, now I'll have to go down to the garage and spend more time working on my layout. Once again your brilliant work on your layout has inspired me to do more on mine. Great to see the progress. Well done.

  • @shogun747400er Thanks Steve, now get in to your Garage , poor weather so best thing to be doing modelling on the layout.

    Cheers

    Dave

  • I an old retired Atchinson Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Engineer. I would like to say what a wonderful railroad layout. I enjoyed seeing this. I have seen some Steam Locomotives, that is something I remember I use to see a lot of. Wonderful sight for my 81 year old eyes.

  • @MrCraig1930 Thank you very much Mr. Craig, most apreciated from a retired Engineer, may your eyesight stay good for many years to come.

  • @irondawson thank you Stephen, it is just a hobby that lets one get carried away with

    Dave

  • You've done an incredible amount of new work there Dave, and it looks really good....it would take ages to see the fine detail you've put into the layout. The bus depot is a great addition....fantastic work as always..Bob

  • @robmasterman Thanks Bob , did you not notice the photo with a smile? that was just to prove I can smile., probably because I was thinking , have I finished it.

    Dave

  • Great video i'm still amazed by your attention to detail fantastic job!

  • @tpe18509 Thanks for your kind comment,

    Dave

  • WOW Nice Layout

  • @TruckerJamesHorrell glad you like it, Cheers

  • You have done it again Dave!! you've gone and raised the standards of what is expected in a good model railway. 10/10 mate well done.

    Sam..

  • @HillsideModelRailway Thank you Sam , Still a way to go compared to yours, thank you for the comment

    Dave

  • That layout is amazing! It's actually depicting the England I love! :-) :-) :-)

    Greetings from Belgium, Dave! :-)

    PierreMaerklinFan

  • @PierreMaerklinFan Thank you Pierre it is how we remember back in th 50-60`s

  • @howarth004 Maybe you should by a Police Box. I'm a big fan of Doctor Who and they used to say that those boxes were common in the 50's. I think I saw two of them last year in Edinburgh...

    Greetings from Belgium! :-)

    PierreMaerklinFan

  • @PierreMaerklinFan Hi Pierre, I have a police box on there , it is neer the station, will make a point of showing next video I make.

    Dave

  • @howarth004 I can't wait for seeing the Doctor's Tardis on your beautiful layout! ;-)

    Pierre

  • Wow! How much did it cost to build it all?

  • @adamtorbayexpress I do not dare add it up

  • The Bus-Depot and the two houses looking very fine! =) Very well made, Dave!

  • @trainfart Thanks, it all adds to the scene

  • YAY ;)

the layout really got some great details...

  • @svinehunden Thanks Kasper, keep trying to bring more detail in to it

  • Brill stuff, by god you've been busy on the layout. Looking great. 5* & liked :-)

  • @ay76 Thanks Iain , it`s all those show`s you download that gives me insperation

  • @howarth004 Cool :-) Next part has just gone live now. Cheers :-)

  • those metcalfe houses look very good considering they are a card kit.i may invest in a couple.

  • @bloodmarine77 Thanks, yes they do look good, and fairly easy to make, but watch for the garage doors matching the house colours, I missed first attempt.

    Dave

  • Top notch stuff again Dave, another super video

    Cheers.

    Mike.

  • @1964mikem Thanks Mike , think I may slow down now , hopefully summer will be here and spend time on my garden a bit.

  • wow a very nice layout, if onlt mine was as finished as yours, keep up the vids

  • @TheLukei Thanks, keep at it you will get there

  • It is really a fantastic layout you have build :-))

  • @MyLocomotiv Thanks for that , there are some good one`s out there though

  • Its good when changes are made and the result is even more satisfying! As a lover of classic buses, its great to see the bus depot now there and with the corect period buses around. No one has been able to move those gypsys on then! They seem ok though and not causing any trouble! Nice flower beds like outside your house.but no fish pond yet? Gosh, this a wonderful model railway Dave! its more than a model railway its a whole community!

  • @ADMIRALSCORNER Thank you Mike, I thought about a fish pond with some Koi Carp in , but room is now a problem those carp can grow big as I know with mine, and yes the travellers seem to be behaving themselves, so will let them stay a while longer, those buses especially the Halifax ones (green and Orange ) are very good and at a special price from Hattons think it was £15 each

    Dave

  • Fantastic! one of the best layouts on youtube!

  • @MrFlix76 You are too kind with your comment, as I said before if you look there are some superb ones out there.

    Dave

  • Looks & sounds great, i take it you have slightly bigger gaps in the rails with the layout been in the attic when it gets hot in the summer.

  • @hovermotion Well yes it does help when they expand , but to be honest not always intensional, get a nice clickaty click from them anyway, Thanks for you comment

    Dave

  • You sound rough Dave

  • @hawley00 I am rough

  • Good video!!

  • @jordimikado ThanksJordi ,

  • Brilliant Dave!!! But only completed for now, or?!

  • @60007SirNigelGresley Thanks Frank, you said it, ...for now??

  • @60007SirNigelGresley You could be right Frank, as you said...for now!!!

  • Dave, your additions are very nice. I like the progress you have made. You can rightly be very proud of your layout. You truly put a lot of work into it. Good video

  • @pwalpar Thank you for your kind words Walter

  • Brilliant work!!!well done

  • @21rossyboy21 Thanks ever so much, as I said completed , but??
