I can relate to some of this already. I'm in my 2nd quarter at a 2-year college and I try to remember how excited I was to get in the program and how much I want to be a nurse when I get discouraged. I really like some of your tips. I'm gonna try to write out my schedule for a week or may just try even a day cause I don't manage my time very well most days. @Renee4christ NOPE, not just my opinion. Nursing is horrible everywhere. The bullying, politics, horrible working conditions, backstabbing from other nurses, patients treating you like nothing. Most nurses now can't even find a job. There is no nursing shortage. Stop portraying the fake image of nursing. Many who graduate nursing school(thats if they don't harass you out first) leave the profession within 5 years. Most nurses wouldn't even want their children to be nurses.

@avalanches . Nursing is a physically and mentally abusive "job". A knew a woman who got both of her teeth punched out and raped by a patient and no one said anything about it. The hospital did nothing. This stuff goes on so much.
@told85 I also know of a nurse who got raped in the hospital and during home health care. Nurses have no protection and it seems they like it that way. I think they enjoy the abuse.

Agreed with every single thing you said. Great advice. I have gone through LVN school as well as now I am finishing up a LVN to RN program. I really loved what you said about not taking being in the program for granted. I see many students missing a lot of days and just not really being appreciative of what they have and how many people would do anything to be in that spot. Nice video =)

im in the middle of applying to an LPN program in town & hope to start august 2011...there isnt a waiting list but they only accept 10 people and it will be a blessing if i get to be one of those!...i take my nurse entrance exam this week..wish me luck!
