  • How much do these bikes usually retail for? And are training wheels needed if they already balance on a regular bike?

  • @cpitam The training wheels are not needed for a rider who already balances a two wheeler - in fact the training wheels are an aftermarket item, and don't come with the bike. The MSRP for a brand new Yamaha PW50 is $1,290. But the bike has remained the same design since 1981, and they are built super tough. You can find a hand-me-down (used) PW50 for under $500 if you look, and when your child outgrows it, sell it to someone else for what you paid for it.

  • @bandacycle Thank you :) I hope I have a rider soon.

  • mini travis pastrana!:D

  • next Ashley Fiolek!

  • aha i wasn't really paying close attention to this video and then i look up and i thought he was doing a burnout when he first starts riding.. then i realize it's just the exhaust.

  • im 13 and i still dont have one!!

  • do you go to three palms because i think i landed on you before i had a monster so yea and you don't need training wheels your good

  • how fast does this go??

  • hahahaah SICK!!!! shes kickin ace. i like how she puts her elbows up when she rides thats a good technique.

  • that thing smokes like a train.

  • lol i ride a 450 but i ride this to the store and stuff

  • how fast does it go?

  • @000haker like 25 to 30 mph

  • @quinnnnman

thts kinda over doing it o.e the bike in this vid looks like a 50cc bike and tht will top at mabey 15-20? idk though only reason im saying this is cause i had an 80cc bike a while ago tht would top out at 40 and now i have a 125 tht will top out at 60..

  • Do these little bikes have a clutch or are they like scooters (ie clutch-less)? Great start to a great sport! Keep up the SAFE work!

  • @bmz2678 - The PW 50 has a centrifugal clutch (no clutch lever) and only one gear. It's just twist and go. The next size up (50cc four strokes) also have a centrifugal clutch, but have multiple gears.

  • She is very good for her first ride and at 4 years old keep it up

  • hey bandacycle, i have a question, iv been wanting to get one of these Yamaha 50s for my son, but i dont know if you have to mix the fuel. please message back. thank you

  • @williebon You do not premix the fuel - plain old unleaded goes in the gas tank, and 2-stroke oil goes in a reservoir behind the front number plate.

  • @bandacycle thank you for being helpful. i appreciate it ;)

  • @williebon make sure u get mix recomended for the oil injection

  • where did u get them balamce wheels from

  • @MegaDJdaz Donelson Cycles in Saint Louis: (800) 325-4144

  • awesome :P

  • cool vid.. Is he still riding?

  • Yes! She's 6 now, and almost too tall for her PW50 - see her in my other vid "Trail Girl" - she sure likes to ride.

  • haha nice :)

im 13 and my parants wouldend let me start when i was 13 :(

    so i'll get for my 14th birthday a minicrosser:D

  • who the hell puts training wheels on a 250?

  • ummm its a 50cc. i have the same bike. a pw 50. im 8 and i also have a kx65

  • you just don't :p

just saying that training wheels aren't easy to ride with :p

  • I'm going to have to back up opretopsy: This girl's neighbor, an older boy, near 10, and a good bicycle rider, absolutely could not ride this little motorcycle with training wheels on it.

One of the reasons this girl took the training wheels off before she turned six was that they limited where she could ride, and what obstacles she could ride over. Training wheels keep little ones from falling over, but they sure don't make it easy to really ride.

  • thats what i mean ;)

  • my first race was when i was 4 without training wheels!

  • That's awesome - post up some riding video! I'd love to see it!

  • lol ur gay i bet ur parents never got u a cool bike when u were 4?

  • lol good video

oh just to shut some of the other guys up my sons 50 will do 45mph easy and get there quicker than a 65,

it really depends on what engine and carb and valves are on the bike.

most ktms and cr's are 2.5 bhp and the adventure (faster ktm is 5.5 bhp)

my son has a very rare husky pro 50! has the s6s engine with 21 mm carb its 12bhp the power band is so strong that it can lift the front wheel when it kicks in with me on it and i weigh 13 stone.

  • hurry it up grama

  • awesome

  • she has a racer andis sooo cute youll have to get her a honda crf50r soon so she can race!!!!!!!

  • do you mean a ktm 50 thay r much better

  • The training wheel stage is a lot of fun good luck he looks like he is doing well

  • i think you guys have aspiring "speed demon" on your hands!!

my little sister has a KTM 50 sr. and she LOVES throttle!!!!!!

she is getting a PW 50 though... :)

  • yea a pw 50 will do mabey 30 downhill on trails mabey like 20 lol 45 50 is like a 80cc bike

  • I've got pictures on my computer of my dad running alongside me as I learned to ride my Y-Zinger (what they called the PW50) back in the mid '80s. No training wheels back then, but I knew how to ride a bicycle without training wheels, and it didn't take long for me to get the hang of riding my Y-Zinger without Dad running next to me. I've grown up liking motorcycles ever since. Keep teaching her how to ride her bike, she's gonna grow up to be a gearhead, which is always cool in my book!

  • Theoretically, somewhere around 45-50 mph, but that would be downhill with some room to accelerate.

One of the PW50's nice features is a throttle stop - a long bolt and nut on the throttle assembly that allows a parent to limit how far the throttle can be opened. This girl's throttle stop is set at two and a half turns out - enough to get her up the mild slopes in her back yard.

  • 40 to 50 ya right maybe 150 to 20 max on a flat but could get to 35 on a hill
