  • I am really sorry to say this but your horse IS underweight. I have horses as well and have owned and trained them my entire life. Your mare s ribs are showing, her backbone is visible, she is sunk in at both the hips and flank...........That is too skinny.

  • WOW she is really really pretty where did you get a mare like that???

  • i dont find it bad how you've decided to break your horse in at all and its your choice.. but what i dont understand is that you said 'she looks skinny but she isn't'? im not quite sure how thats possible! and you shouldn't be able to see the ribs, but you should be able to feel them..

  • I think yall did a good job! I know a few folks that will only start one bareback at first then progress to a saddle.

  • u said `My First Horse Breaking Exsperiance´ im sorry but ur a very stupid girl 1: bare back n holding onto the mane 2: no hat 3:havin someone that isnt really suitable n sensible n experienced enough to hold ur horse (after all shes holdin her with one hand coz shes recordin with the other at the start n has no idea what to do with ur horse she just lets her do her own thing not really payin attention n near the end lettin the rope go onto the floor)

  • @mistybay1 She wasn't stupid, she was just ignorant towards the horse being unbroken. There is nothing wrong with breaking a horse bareback, I personally find it easier for both me and the horse. If she chooses to ride without hat it is up to her, I personally never ride with one unless I'm in a riding school. And you don't have to have someone hold the horse, it's just recommended in the event the horse tries to bolt. I will openly say I wouldn't break a horse in this way, but it is her choice.

  • @mistybay1 how do you think they broke um in the plains, shes a cowgirl, let her do what she does......

  • @mistybay1 don't judge a book by its cover, how would you know if shes stupid? and you better watch your mouth, because you never know who you are talking to,what is so bad about bareback and holding onto the mane, mayber YOU not U are the stupid one...

  • @TheCheyrose maybe*

  • it is just what they said horse breaking, not training, lots of different between breaking n training, i think the horse looks fine

  • That horse is skinny at that time....secondly seriously?? You got on a horse bareback to "Break it in" that is so not breaking in a horse the correct way......i should know i am a professional

  • @MsHunterjumpergirl

Where do we find your YouTube clips? Thannks

  • Sorry, but YES your horse IS skinny!

  • People should stop hating. It probably just has worms or something. You don't know the horses story. These girls are having fun and they didn't put this video up asking for everyone to tell them they have a skinny horse because they already know that, stop hating on them and stop acting so damn arrogant.

  • that is not breaking a horse... and it is way to skinny

  • Your pony's tummy is bloated but the ribs are showing. De-worming might make a big difference

  • mmm, im seeing the horses ribs...was he in recovery or something?

  • i thought you did pretty good. and no your horse dont look that skinny. sorry bout the other peoples rude comments. i would be very proud of my self if i did that

  • You should really be wearing a helmet. And why did you ride the horse without a saddle?

  • @HorseKrazy23 no shit

  • im not being harsh but ...i think you atturally need to no what you are doing, before you break in a horse.

  • She's cute. the girl not the horse

  • 3:14, scared the poop out of mee!!!!!!!

  • *Experience*,sweetheart...and how old is that horse?

  • she is thin and has shifffty fur too boot...

  • I liked the laughing. I persdonally would be scared. Good video.

  • now lets see you tighten up a cinch and get on:)

  • shes not skinny but shes lean and has not top line (muscle coverage) hence the bony look, ive seen it in quite a few young horses, as they get older they dont burn off fat as easily

  • hahaha good work , i did the same :D

  • @cookie9953 I don't think you should have a breeding program when you barely know simple spelling and grammar. Just saying we already have so many unwanted horses we don't need backyard breeders filling up slaughter houses. This horse is not skinny, she is healthy. My horses ribs show when he moves and I prefer it that way because he has foundered. Once this mare gets under saddle and puts on muscle she won't be "skinny."

  • feed your horse

  • skinny horse and silly girls do u have a saddle ?? cause u cant just get on a horse bareback and say thats broken in

  • i love how everyone thinks they know it all.. they are young girls and they are having fun. the horse isnt being hurt.. and i admire anyone that gets on a horse that will throw bucks in, i sure as hell wont..

people train all different ways and its not up to ANYONE to say which way is the best.. as long as the horse isnt being abused.. thats all that matters!

  • That is not how you break a horse in love

  • Hey if you can clearly see ribs, the animal is under weight.

  • @SunnyHorsie ...True to some extent - but what about racehorses? Their ribs are certainly very visible, but they are not malnourished in any way.

  • @horseluvva93 is your horse doesn't look like a race horse.

  • @SunnyHorsie that's impressive - i have no footage of my horse on here. I wasn't having a go - merely asking as a point of debate - what about racehorses?

  • First off the horse is not skinny! Get over yourselves! Horses dont all carry their weight the same way. She just carries her weight really low. She is not skinny! And it ant to young to start a horse at 3! I started one of my friends horses at 3 and she is 12 now. No problems walking or anything. So people stop being dumb! She is having fun with her horse. Stop telling her how to ride and take care if them! Great job!

  • hey :D first of all congrats for staying on :P and btw i love the way you keep laughing your butt of eventhough you almost got bucked of.. now i just have3 one question.. not a critik.. but a question : why didnt you first get her used to bridle and saddle and then break her in with everuthing on? im just asking because im soon going to break in my 3 year old ROMEO. wtg !!

  • ....but before you break your first horse you have to learn how to spell "experience" correctly(: haha

    cute horse!

  • CHECK OUT PARELLI.COM IT'S THE BEST WAY TO BREAK A HORSE, AND YOU GAIN SO MUCH RESPECT. It's a relationship that will be with them & you forever. Not just a quick fix to a problem. I have a video of him breaking a young colt the same way you did it in the video and that horse trusts him more than you can ever imagine.

  • to:crazy1coral I had a paint mare that bucked so high I almost sold her to a rodeo, but it took 4 years of gaining her trust and just sold her to a 4-H club, she is totally happy. I know she is in a good home now. I fix the screw up's that people create. It's all in how you do it, showing them love, language and leadership is the best way. Check out Parelli.com you may learn something.

  • to:crazy1coral Look here little girl I have kids older than you. I have broke many horses in my time and getting their trust is far better than jumping on and riding out a buck. I run a rescue farm and have taken in many horses that were cowboyed on and they were totally screwed up in the head. I correct their problems, and find them good homes where they are forever loved.

  • You did a great job, and the horse is not skinny. Do you want to ride my new 2 yr old baby. She's a black & white didn't do anything when I put the saddle on her. She will probably be easy. I hope anyway. Great Job.

  • Damn it people just shut the fuck up!!! dont you read the damn description stupid asses???? You guys need to get a life

  • thats the calmest broke horse ive ever seen. there is no way that horse isnt broke. you cant just jump on a colt like that.

  • Hmmm...I have a red roan that I'm supposed to be training, and I like the green on her. Thanks for having that. I needed to see what it looked like, and I really like it. Anyway, no, she's not skinny; she's just young. She's got PLENTY of meat on her.

  • ermm im 13 and i have broken in a 3yr old before :) and she does look a little skinny also you should wear a hat and put a saddle on her and lunge her after a week ride her

  • @crazy1coral

Sorry to tell you little girl, but you don't have to put a saddle on and lunge them to break a horse, maybe you should do some research before you make such a rude comment. I suppose you've never done it or you wouldn't be saying that. Look at the indians they didn't have saddles.

  • @mcbostic Ermm actually i know as i have broken in blue and safii :) so there and indians do it old fashioned wayy and they are more experienced than youu so next time try it a diffeerent wayy might help youu abit more and try riding properly and not pissing about

  • It doesn't matter how much she has been ridden or not. You SHOULD NOT see the ribs of the horse. That poor horse.

  • you did great

  • thats breaking a horse if you can get on a horses back it is breaking a horse looks like fun! and that is a proper way of breaking a horse or you can take the long route and lunge it and who really uses lunges after you break a horse

  • Well done must of been hard :P You can see him improving :L Why dont u wear a hat? Not being rude but just wondering :) But he is a really sweet horse :)

  • too bad this is not how you break a horse...she's prob really bad now

  • @turnaboutgirl dont act like some now it all horse snob just cause every

one dont send their horse to some rick snob to be broken doesnt mean

its wrong you get out there and do you that could be the best way for this

    horse all horses are different

  • @animallover8410 actually I didn't send any horses away to be broekn I train them myself. I'm sorry but its seems more screwing around then helping the horse I am WELL aware all horses are different but I find it hard to believe that this horse is so diferent that its getting trained like that.good luck

  • Beautiful horse

  • good for you it can be frustrateing brakeing a horse cant it i dont know from experience but i'm guessing it can be good job thoe

  • people posting bad comments need a reality check! sure the horse is a LITTLE skinnier then we'd all like, but it's winter and all horses carry weight differently, my solid appy gelding is over weight (so vet says) and his ribs poke a little. and no this horse won't go lame even if it is 2 yrs old. what about futurity horses where they training starts sometime before they're even 2. you just have to know how hard to work them to avoid short and long term injury.

  • The horse looks underfed, its neck is shallow and its ribs are sticking out. It is in no condition to ride, let alone bareback. and it doesn't look happy or even paying attention and you guys laughing is very unprofessional. You are just flailing and kicking the horse to make it go, instead of slowly applying pressure with your calves.

  • @shinyp0nyta get a life

  • How old is this horse? She is so skinny. I don't care what you say about not being it. You need to learn how to break the horse correctly and you shouldn't even be on her if she that skinny...

  • @lilkk11907 shut up

  • this is really stupid. i broke my own horse in the correct way. this is really stupid, your probly doing more harm to the horse than good!

  • there are horses in Africa (specifically Egypt) that are fricken bones and can carry fat men accross deserts without breaking a sweat. Horses are STRONG animals the are STRONG and sturdy. They can deal with these conditions in fact 58% of the worlds trained horses are underweight. 89% of those horses do more labourous work than Police horses, all of this and still living with no pain, just a little hungry thats it.

  • @Juniorpetpro and u guys are stupid to think it should be bigger than that because a horse that is not being ridden and has enough to eat probably doesnt need to be much 'fatter' than that.. That horse is probably happy in its conditions. If they dont exersize continously or arent out a lot with other horses, they dont need to have a lot of fat on their body, Seeing as its winter and the horse is just getting broken... Id say its perfect size. STFU if you dont think so.

  • No offence, Even I did better. You cant jump on a horse and expect it to be good. You must have scared her! its called groundwork!! its called trust!! Its called, Lying on her! No just leaping on.

and im sorry, but she is skinny.

    not to be mean.

  • She is not optimal weight; <5. Beautiful horse though, and good luck with her training.

  • wat u r sopposed to do is first put the saddle on so they can get used to having something on their back...then you lean on them to see wat they will do with wieght on them...then u can get on and train...but i think u did an ammazing job with her

  • she is a little thin, you aren't supposed to see the ribs

  • very pretty great job

  • Nice job! :) Maybe lunge her with teh saddle and pad first if she hasn't met it and then ride but you did a great job. :) Beautiful horse.

  • you probibly would have been better teaching her to lunge then getting her going forward on the lung thats how i broke my filly in and by the 2 day of riding her we were trotting and cantering by then end of week one we had jumped 2ft+ now 2 months later shes working brilliant on the flat and jumping 1 meter+ =) but good job i know sme horses are difficult my filly used to buck all the time luckily i know how to sit them and she stopped lol

  • @HorseListener101 2 months of training and ur going a meter? You must be like a horse master. Because my Olympic Horse Trainer cant do that... so no offense but i think thats a bit of Bull. Oh and anyone can sit a buck... Its hard tho to sit a rear. Tx.

  • @Juniorpetpro how is it bull ? if u check out my new page you will see fine my horse jumps 1 meter 30 n shes only been being ridden 5-6 months =D cossy1065 n personally i find rears easier thanks =D

  • Aww shes so cute! great job :) and she really isnt skinny, some appaloosa's have "stripes" like that that make them appear to look skinny but they are really at a healthy weight. I rode an appy once like that and she was a beautiful 3' jumper.

  • "She's not skinny, her ribs just stick out like that"

    BS

  • what were u doing? you could have walked her somewhere insted of making her go left and right on the spot, thats not horse breaking... and wheres the tack? nd u werent joking about her being thin, you need shooting tbh

  • u r a dummy thinkin thats how u train a horse. I trained my 1st horse when i was 9 and did better than that. You r just a HORRIBLE HORSE OWNER/RIDER

  • no, first u get her used to riding bare back stupid, cuz their not used to having straps on them. not a ruined horse you guys. I break horses all of the time for other people and they say after i get done, they couldn't ask for a better horse. She did exactly what she was supposed to do. So shut up, if u don't know what the hell your talking about. ON THE RIGHT TRACK WITH THIS HORSE GIRLY!

  • i did do it bareback, i only rode bareback on that crazy boy

  • i sooooo agree with you!!! everyone else is so mean my trainer is breaking a horse and she trained a grand prix horse the same way well she lunged first and then did little saddle things and bareback with a pad so yea i agree bareback should be introduced first :) *gives thumbs up*

  • thank you! at least some people know what they're talking about!!

  • i know!!!! i mean maybe this person like was really excited and kinda hyper but i would be 2!!! and who cares if he is skinny wasnt he sent to her for training so if he/she was sent then it wasnt her fault for a skinny horse!!! some people dont understand but we do :)

  • @angel2895 you know angel, everyone has their own way of breaking a horse. Some like to do it the natural way, and never put a saddle on them, some like to use bags, lean over, or put a light saddle on. Calling people stupid for saying what they think is the right way, doesn't change anything. There;s no ONE right way, there's lots of right ways to break a horse :) i do think bareback is a lot more fun!

  • Well that's a pretty horse. Too bad she's ruined now

  • @barrelchickalltheway

Why don't you mind your own business. Stupid girl, who are you to talk.. No one asked you for your opinion. And opinion's are like asswholes, everyone has one.

  • realy petty horse, but i think you should put abit more wieght on her. shel just look so much more healthy. shes not skinny, shes just slightly underwieght

  • if u dont see that your horse is skinny you have a problem, all i can see is a SKINNY little horsie !!

  • this is not breaking a horse..this is getting on an unbroken horse bare back and seeing what happens.....and i know if i was getting on an unbroken horse, or any horse, id be wearing a helmet. i know your having fun but you have to be careful how you break a horse cos if you dont do it right they can have issues for many years that are hard to fix.

  • couldn't hav said it better myself

  • plus shes not skinny her ribs just stick out more than normal same as my hores

  • Hey i understand my first horse was HELL

  • wow nice riding she is a very pretty horse and u trained her good. Good Job! you should make a vid of u guys cantering.

  • just remember to do everything u did on both sides cuz then u have a horse thats only broke to one side

  • this is a great first try! and she's really gorgeous

  • Good efforts! You should rent some videos on horse training, though, it might keep you safer than just jumping on. You clearly care about the horse and were trying to train it humanely, so good for you on that. Ignore the comments about skinny. My vet says it's healthier for them to show a little rib than to be as fat as some of the pasture potatoes out there. Keep improving your skills....and wear a helmet to be around for the next ride.

  • oh I know my gaming ponys ribs show and my mom is like feed him more grain he is to skinny, and I am like he is supposed to look like that haha, but I tried to break my friends horse for her a cuple days ago and she bucked me off and I broke my ankle!

  • Please don't say she's skinny? Any horse that you can see the ribs is too skinny... She's by no means starving...just a growing youngster that needs a bit more care taken of her to put some weight on... You should consider yourself lucky that she took to be crawled all over like she did.. Most don't..

  • deff thin for a yungster. think wat uve done is a good way to expose a yung horse to noise, flapping etc but.....my gowd do u wana get ur self killed! luki that this wee horse only buked a little, hope you dont take this risk with every horse u back. at least a helmet??

  • Just so all of you know..... showing ribs doesnt mean a horse is skinny, when judging their body score you look at the fat on their back butt and chest of neck, I have known plenty of horses that will score a 7 or 8 body score....(VERY obese) whose ribs were showing.

  • I know just what you mean,Gizmo,a horse at our barn is 22 and you can see his ribs, but he has no dip where his hip meets his stomach he scored like a 6 or 7,haha

  • this isnt bomb proofing. its only the first ride. "bombproofing" takes years of patience. i would be appauled if someone tried to bomb proof a horse on the first ride.

  • we start when they are foals and still with there mothers by taking bags and scary stuff into the field when the mare stands still and the foal learns that its not going to kill it

bomproofing you do all the time

  • great way to mess up a horse. lets have a bunch of kids jump on her in a huge field and let her do whatever, causeing safty issues.

  • stupid bunny person

go play on the main road

you clearly know sweet F A about bomb proffing a pony

  • Oh my god you guys. That horse is fine. You guys all freak out over nothing. If you think this horse is too skinny you dont know much about horses.

  • Good for you , youve done a great job there , looks to me like a well prepared smart little horse .

  • Thanks alot ^.^

  • haha you only live once right? have fun while it lasts!

  • shes 2 right cause my 4yr old still looks like that too but he might have worms

  • your horse is really gd and she doesnt really look that skinny lol

  • im not here to make a ride comment, but girl, its the middle of winter, show me any barn with completely fat pastured horses during the winter. Poeple the horse dose not seem to be in danger of dying. Shut up. Be proud of your horse and how good she is!

  • LOL THANK YOU

  • Um, how about ALL of ours? How fucking stupid do you have to be to think winter is an excuse to have bone racks? That horse is a disgrace, and so are the people so oblivious they think protruding ribs and hip bones is acceptable.

  • @englishXcowboy It doesn't matter if there is a pasture or not, my mare stays fat all winter long. and I live in Michigan.

  • @englishXcowboy Come to my pasture in Canada in the winter. its a rough season but all my horses are still fat, warm and happy...

  • i started breaking my horse yesterday. shes 3 years old and NEVER had a halter or anything on. hardly ever touched (people said shes crazy) good luck to me right!

  • my horse is a welsh pony a show hunter i know whats fat and whats not it needs more fat on and i show my pony when ever theirs a show so i know and i am 11

  • BOO!

you shouldnt be scaring the horse like that! & laughing!?

why dont you use monty roberts' method

& not 'break' your horse, but become its partner

  • ur horse is soo pretty

  • how old is that horse?

  • now shes 3 in this she was about 4 months to 3

  • oh k cause i just got a horse thats only 7 months old and i thought you cant ride them untill thier 3. I want to know at what age i could get on it.

  • it is safe to ride them when they are 2 year old...or 2 1/2 but if u ride them b4 that and put strain on their bacc that causes them to have that bow in their back...so 2 years old is fine

  • get on at 3 you will hurt its back if you on so soon

  • @LollyPoptartPrincess

Much to young a horse grows til he's 6 years old then all growdisks are solid.

When you start to young your horse wil have many problems when it get older and that is not a good thiks is it?.

Today it's a hype to start riding very young horses but people don't realize thet these horses ars stil baby's and there bones are stil growing.

It breaks my heart again and again to see this problem in europe and the us it seems a new way of selling and the horse lives shorter.

  • p.s If something LOOKS skinny, it is skinny. If something looks blue, it is probably blue, unless you are colour blind. Are you weight blind? Are you fat blind? Can you not see like everyone else can? <3

  • This horse IS Skinny. This is the wrong way to break a horse. You're just confusing it. Babies are supposed to be fat so their organs and bones can develop properly. This horse will be lame by the time is is 10. If it makes it.

  • lol what ever, thats what you think, and then this horse will go out and kick all your horses asses like she has been.

  • @LollyPoptartPrincess

Stuck up little brat, I hope your horse throws you in a pile of shit.

  • @mcbostic

Sorry this was directed at barrelchickalltheway. Not you. You did a fine job for the1st time. Don't let them fool you. They couldn't do it.

  • @jbk581kbj ummm my horse gets 2 mixes and 2 hays every day... and sh eis still ribby... its not cos she isnt cared for or doesnt get enough... its just her type. she doesnt get fat.

  • @jbk581kbj I totally agree with you!

  • @jbk581kbj

Just wondering if your a vet, and if not why don't you shut up. You know nothing of what your talking about. Get a book and read once in a while.

  • Looks like your having fun.. good job

  • hahah thats such a good horse, my little cremello, buck and reaars a farts, when i get on her, she is getting better, ill post a video of her later on during the week, (she is pretty funny though) good luck with the rest of the breaking of river!!

  • wow that was really good for that horse's first time with a rider. she bucked a little, but i've seen horses do WAYYY worse :)

i'm planning to break my mom's friend's horse this summer, so i'm trying to figure out what the best way to do it would be...

  • I think you did a good job and lotsa guts. Lord knows I have busted bones as a kid doin just what you did and not bein so lucky. Maybe youll be a trainer . Thats what I do now. My kids are in 4H and also taking up that career it kinda runs in the family lol good luck and dont listen to knot heads like some of these

  • Becky, just shut up. your a freak.

  • i dont think she is skinny she looks young. but i think maybe there is a better way of breaking in a horse, like in a round yard, getting used to a saddle and bags of weight on, mind you it does show your horse has respect for you or you couldnt do it the way you did

  • don't pay any atenttion to what their saying i have and overweight horse i rescued and you can see its ribs so shut up other people (I) just because you can see its ribs doesnt mean its underweight .i think you handled thant perfectly and stayed on with his little bucks lol which were quite funny ive got to say.anyway i bet hes fab now>

  • Thank you!

  • Oh and if you want to be telling me to look at her neck, fine. It has a crease in it from not being healthy

  • boy do you have a problem with paying attention didnt you read where it said she got her from someone who never had horses before? I cant believe people who comment like this just lookin for a fight. Thats just plain retarded. I have rescues here on my farm and when they come out to me they look worse than this. She may be a little ribby but still ok to train screw your head on straight. for cryin out loud

  • OK, don't be telling me what to do. I know a sad case when I see one and if she was my horse, I'd be pumping her with grain :)

  • Ummmm yah she gets half a coffee can of grain morning and night with 3 flackes of orcard grass / alfalfa. So why dont you shut your mouth and stop bad talking my horse. She was a LITTLE underweight, now shes fine. she was only like that for a little bit, shes a baby who just got moved to my house! NO DUH SHES GUNNA BE A LITLLE SKINNY! IF YOU WANT TO SEE A SKINNY HORSE GO LOOK AT PANDA! YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HOW ABUSED SHE WAS! PPL LIKE YOU MAKE ME SICK! FRECKING OUT OVER A HORSE LIKE THIS!

  • Yikes! Spell check much??

  • you go GIRL!! lol i know the horse isent skinny i mean she is just a baby not saying she is to young and trust me i got a horse that gets 1 scoop in the morning and night and has hay twenty four seven, and never gains lol

  • ok, if its not skinny... how come its ribs are showing?!?!?

  • OMFG! Shut up, shes my horse, she may have her ribs show but she dosent now! And she was 2 when this video was taken and she had just been brought to my house from someone who had never had horses befor! Do u see her ass if she was skinny and i was worried about it i whouldnt have rode her. but look at her rump, its very full, and look at her neck and back, its just her ribbs showing for a combo of reasons, shs fine! shes not your horse anyway so shut up

  • Thats good but , ( im not been cheeky) i wold wear hat :-/

  • thanks! i admit im a little nervous, but im sure it'll be okay. the filly we're training will be very laid-back, and i hope we can create a bond like you have with your horse. thanks for the video! it helped! a lot...

  • she is so gorgeous!! its amazing how on the second try she didn't flip out. great job! me and my friend are training our little filly...got any advice? :)

  • lol make sure you hang on and just let her have her fit first. and dont do to much to fast do little bits at a time let her think and then the next day test her on what she learned lol THXS!!!! xD

  • thats a really good video of u breaking ur first horse!! congrats!! hope shes gonna be a good horse 4 u!! loved the video by the way!!

  • Thx! ^.^ But I just had to put her up for sale, Im very sad, but shes gunna make somone a great horse!

  • umm.. you shouldnt just hop on your horses back when backing a horse. you should just get it used to pressure on its back before actually getting on.. just a tip. you did pretty good anyways :P

  • i will! hes really pushy and ive only had him for a year so yeah, and good luck to you too

  • i have a young horse and im very nervous, u video made me feel a little bit more ready, hes trained to the point where i have to actually get on him, so of course im nervous! your horse is very magnificent as well!

  • Thanks! lol I was kinda scared but becuse ive had her since she was 6 months old i felt a bond with her so she didnt flip out as much, youll have to send me the video of you horse. good luck

  • "She isn't skinny, she just really looks like it"

omg dont ever say those words again.

  • y cant I say that, all you haters need to see her in person Shes not skinny!!!!!!!! Ask all my damn friends who know me and this horse in person.
