  • Thanx ! - I am loving it !... Bluesbreakers were an unavoidable part of my youth !...

Listen to my harpin`on : Just your fool - by Holy Ghost on youtube ! - And more blues ! - My name is Tyge Bruun.

    Have a nice weekend !

  • Love John Mayall!!

  • Great stuff !.. Nice harpin`

  • @hotlipbrown If you like nice harpin', you MUST see & hear John Mayall live. I caught his set in Brampton Canada on Tues Nov 29. This guy is 78 years young and he still kicks ass on that harp like you just can't believe. The 8th wonder of the world.

  • JM ROX

  • this made a musical impression on my mind when i was 3

  • Nice cover by Mayall !!!!!

  • bäst

  • No, Mayall was not underrated, he is the Maestro of European blues.

  • I've heard that one but from Cactus which one is the cover?

  • @Dyyn123 Both are covers. It's originally by Mose Allison, and was recorded in the late 1950s. Search on YouTube and you can hear it.

  • oh my GOD ! ....im back in 1979 and haulin ass down the jersey turnpike in my beat to shit, loud ass 57 chevy with my girlfriend margie, headin down to seaside hights, passin cars like they are standin STILL ! ...mmaaaaaaannn. . .some sweeeeeet memories!!!!

  • one of the first musical impressions

    on my brain

    as a teen

    1966 to be exact

  • Wow, Mayall has to be one of the very greatest. I'm 18 years old and an aspiring blues guitarist. Unfortunately the popularity of the blues seems to be dying out, with most people my age listening to hip-hop and techno. Anyone who likes this video clearly knows their music. It's good to know I'm not alone in my love for the blues.

  • Супер!!!! я балдею)))))))))))) супер гуд))

  • And John McVie and Mick Fleetwood , Andy Fraser (Free) Keef Hartley etc etc

  • 4 VINYL pursis punks :)

  • Good shit to dance to at the clubs in those days.

  • i like john mayall's energy and pulse. I enjoy how his harp lifts my spirits.

  • Lise & Banny........gotta be good.

  • WHO THE FUCK IS JOHN MAYER ?

  • @abombinreverse A brain surgeon?

  • A harp-playing style all of his own, a truly inspiring creative person

  • Cool, cooler, coolest!

John was the Father of ALL British blues.

    Amazing groove, amazing stuff!

  • this was the first record i bought

    in 1966

  • and still kickin' arse... new CD 'Tough'... world tour and about to come Australia and kick the 21st BLUESFEST in Byron Bay over Easter 2010 - and some dates in Sydney(The Basement), Melbourne(Prince Bandroom) and Twin Towns Services Club on the Gold Coast...

don't miss this GIANT BLUESMAN - THE GODFATHER

  • John Mayall may be one of the most under rated bluesmen ever. under Mayall's tutlage came the likes of Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, Jack Bruce, Peter green. <=== much more than just a footnote in blues history

  • @abombinreverse.....totally agree Mayall had some of the greatest musicians as side men.

Certainly he is the godfather of british blues.

The man has been on the road for 40 odd years and i tip my hat to him for that.

Here's what bothers me, his voice is too high for the blues he preaches, it's too much of a nasal twang. He's the opposite of John Lee Hooker, which is not a good thing.

    Peter Green' s voice.....far superior.

  • @68blues

hahaha! I just wish I were as high as you were when you wrote that one, my friend!

  • @abombinreverse Which point do you disagree with?

  • Oops, almost forgot .Listen to U.S.A. Union he recorded that without a drummer.....bad move.

  • @abombinreverse

Yes,no offence, but we all know his story.

I saw him play live last night, and couldn't believe it.

His energy is not what you expect from a 76 "old" man.

I couln't care less about Clapton,Taylor,or even the great Peter Green right now.

I just want to know why he hasn't been knighted yet!.

  • @abombinreverse I can't understand how can you say he's underrated... he's legend allready... everybody who's into blues knows Mayall ;) he rocks!

  • @Featinwe

i see your point. any fan of Mayall is a friend of mine

my point is the average person knows about Clapton or the Rolling Stones, but

few of those people know who Mayall is.their loss!

if I tell a friend im listening to John Mayall, they will think I said John Mayer.

i still dont know who the fuck he is...

    .

  • @abombinreverse

    And don't forget John McVie!!!!

  • John Mayall super star !

  • @abombinreverse The most under rated white bluesman ;)

  • dat cactus band from detroit did a much tighter take jimmy mcarty kicks ass

  • coola grejer , Det här är Blues .....Mari-Louise from Sweden ....

  • "CACTUS" did a great cover also, not saying it was better or worst.....Just saying

  • This was not a cover of Bukka's tune, this was a cover of the tune written by Mose Allison. If you listen to some Mose, you'll understand the tempo. I vividly remember the first time I heard this 30 years ago. I said Whaaaat? I'm still diggin' it!

  • Quite correct. This a Mose Allison Song

Georgie Fame did a decent version for us Mods in the Sixties...............D'oh!

  • Sounds a little too fast-

    Wrong speed I think

Just a bit slower and you got your groove on.

  • The tempo is too happy?

Maybe the slaves on Parchman Farm were granted a day off, and they all sat in their shed and played this happy, grooving tune.

  • Criminals actually. Parchment Farm is actually a hard labor prison.

  • Same thing.

  • You been there?

  • I've eaten fried chicken in your mothers swampy ass canal

  • hahahahahaha

  • wow! people are so needy and bitchy, the blues is about playing simple songs reflecting emotions that a musician has dealt to his music.

    so fuck you buddy!

this is an amazing track by John Mayall, who is a great blues musician with a great catalog.

and Im sure non of you have a fucking recording to your name, get on your music pulpit in the fucking shitty place you go to find "authentic sounds of the negro" people like you dont and shouldnt understand the blues

    suck my balls

  • maybe my favorite bbreaker tune: CLASSIC harp. Thanks for putting it up!!!

  • Blue Cheer's version is sooo much better.

  • Compared to Bukka's verison...this is sad, really sad. Have to agree with dimesack on the tempo thing. WTF?

  • He sounds like he's having fun on the Farm. This isn't the Blues... This dudes too happy!

  • Mayall, the godfather of british blues.Well good for him, he's paid his dues and put a helluva lot into it for the last 50 odd years.

The problem is that his voice is to lightweight for the blues. In fact listen to Walking on Sunset, that's about as bad as it gets.

  • lighten up Dimeshack

  • ain't anywhere good as Bukka White

  • Finally someone loads a record and we get to here it without bad room acoustics. Thanks. My buddy is a big believer in 45 sound...better bass, he says. But he takes terrible care of 'em.

Great recording. I got one for you..My Raymond Scott Dedication to SPace FLight 78 here on youtube.

  • Too many people just tout Mayall for his role as a mentor of great talent.

The fact is, he has a great way with a lyric-both writing them and "reading" them- and his harp playing is always very lively.

He's always written a good number of blues songs that have aged very nicely.

  • Bit like Alexis Korner.

  • one of my favourite songs of John Mayall!

Can't wait to see him live this saturday!

  • Great rhythm section (Hughie Flint, John McVie) and of course harmonica ...

  • This is Music Man -The Best -Blues Man Alive -Cheers Blues man -.

  • check out johnny rivers great version

  • im 34 and been beating skins many years. soooooooooooooo sweet x thanks x

  • original is Mose Allison.

    nice beat.

  • theres a great version of this on his "last of the brithish blues" album

good version of "the bear" on it too.

  • for one time I set this song to wake me up before I went to work :)

  • this is some mighty fine rock & roll but, if you want blues try Johnny Winter's Parchman Farm

  • only heard mayalls version a week ago what album is this on... i like bukka and allisons versions as well this one is stomping

  • The version on the original Bluesbreakers album with Clapton is much better.

  • What key's he in?

  • @titostacos songs in F, Bb harp.

  • @Nimlas1 can't be. Not a Bb harp. No way.

  • @titostacos Certainly a Bb harp - the first track I ever learned after being introduced to blues harp by a tutor at school

  • met john in Adelaide South Australia in the 1970's after a uni gig great talent

  • You cant beat mose allison's original, but this is a killer slice of british 60's r&b. great tunes.

  • Great stuff
