He would make unnecessary comments about weight or fashion, but rarely about music. I actually prefer the judges this year because they are nice, know what they are talking about, and don't steal focus from the contestants like Simon and Paula did. And Simon didn't like Kelly Clarkson in the beginning and said no to Chris Daughtry in his audition.
