  • Well, the 2 cameras are different and may (likely) have different current consumptions. Your battery does appear to be low so it is not a complete shock that your 20D shuts down completely when you activate the pre-release of the camera (a point when current consumption would spike). The 40D likely still functions because the current consumption is low enough that it doesn't completely shut it down. It could be your lenses that are the problem as well... Too many variables to know for sure.

    Secondly, why are you leaving the camera up, with no lens on, and open to the elements? Unless of course you like to clean them regularly.

    Yes it would appear you have a problem with the camera, and Canon has been reprehensible with their service to you. But please no more shots of lenses, batteries, cameras and serial numbers that are out of focus...

    What does it achieve other than to make us wonder why you posted the video.
