Er hem. At first I thought KH is a lame game cos disney characters are in there... You see, FF characters which are categorised as "cool" together with Disney characters which are categorised as "just-for-kids" makes the game sounds lame. But no! I changed my mind once I played the game. To those out there who simple hates the game, try playing it. You'll love it. Never judge a game by its box cover =)

It's actually pretty interesting how the characters designed by Square start to become adapted and adjust to the Disney characters and start to behave accordingly, such as when (((SPOOOOILER!!!!!!!))) King Mickey runs to hug Riku in Destiny Islands at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2, and when Donald and Goofy interact with Sora, poking his face and making him smile.

And it's also interesting how the Disney characters seem to show confidence and courage as they interact with Square characters.

And that's why it's such a good idea. It never crossed anybody's mind. It's inovative, fresh. I'm by NO means saying it's THE BEST idea in the RPG industry, hell, Square(itself, Soft or Enix related) is by no means my favorite RPG company, not even remotely, but from an unbiased point of view, Kingdom Hearts was a great creation that never got close to being the best RPG, but totally has my love when it comes to its enginius storyline, whoever denies this is ignorant or just likes to disagree.

In one hand, Cloud actually has a REASON to question himself, since his memories aren't even entirely REAL to begin with, and he starts to question himself after he realises this. Whereas Squall acts like a teen in denial all the time from point A to Z.

I'm not that far in so i shouldn't be talking but...

It basically plays like a standard SRPG (if you've played Disgaea or Final Fantasy: tactics Advance, you'll know how to play) but it has a few special elements like the ability to capture demons and have them fight along side toy or sacrifice them.

It also has multiple stories (i assume that means each one is fairly short) But the gameplay is still pretty cool in general and so far i'm enjoying it lot. Cool story too.

Well, personally i hated Disgaea 2, i just liked the first one.

I'm not far enoguh in to make a real judgment (only 8 hours in on Olifen's story) but so far, i really like it. You need to use alot of strategy to get through the stages.

Yes, the battle system is like most other SRPG's, but it requires more startegy than most of them, amd it relies alot on hitting the enemies weaknesses, so much so that i usually end up checking the enemies weaknesses and strengths before each attack.

in short: I haven't played enough to judge, but i9 really like it. I'd say i likem both Eternal Poison and Disgaea 1 about the same.

Eternal Poison is more serious and kind of feels like a bigger, more epic story, and you get multple storylines to playthrough.

I think ETernal Poison is worth getting if you're a fan of SRPG's.

Just turn Battle Animations off...They look fairly good but slow down battle ALOT.

Yeah, they're in-game CD scenes from Eternal Poison (PS2 only) but there aren't that many CG scenes as far as i can tell.

Battle map and story scenes are 2D (Story scenes use the art-work Comic-book kind of style scene in games liek Disgaea and Fire Emblem) but battle animations are in 3D, but they seem to use a weaker engine so they don't look quite as nice as the CG scenes.

Disgaea 1 had better storyline and characters. It was also longer and didn't have the annoying Geo Panal effects stacked against you in EVERY SINGLE MAP like Disgaea 2 had.

I loved Soul Nomad myself.

The maps are pretty much like the standard SRPG like Disgaea or FF tactics. Being higher up does more damage, lower does less damage, ect. pretty standard lay-out but the maps do look pretty nice for an SRPG like that. Very Dark to match the theme of the game.

Personally, i love Atlus. The games they translate go far beyond just games that focuses alot on dark storylines and demons. They also translated games like Arcana Heart, which is a very girly 2D Fighting game where every playable character is a girl. Aswell as Odin Sphere which is an amazing Action RPG loosely based on Norse Mythology.

But i'm a big fan of these darker games about demons so i'm loving what i'm seeing from them lately.

I have it. I got it 2 days ago, just because I thought the cover looked cool and because ATLUS helped make it. (Same people who did Disgaea) It's alright so far, but the battle system doesn't grab me and the graphics aren't that great. Idk, there's something about the game that doesn't hold my interest, unlike like Baten Kaitos, Zelda, and Shadow the the Colossus. The art and cut scenes are nice though! I hope this game gets better or it's going back to Gamestop. =(

Most hardcore RPG fans hate Square for their poor storylines and characters.

Atlus brings japan only games to North America.

NISA (Nippon Ichi Software America) Does basically the same thing

NIS (Nippon Ichi Software) Davelopes games and uses their American branch (NISA) to get their own games in North America.

In the case of Disgaea, NIS made the game but Atlus brought it to North AMerica before the American brach (NISA) was formed.

I notice that I become more startled by disproportional large eyes on fictional characters rather than something intended to disturb, like the Silent Hill series. I guess I am that grounded in reality. Still, from what I have seen, it seems that the loading times for each attack in battle could be long enough to annoy, so I hope they improve it, if they can.
