  • How do you do staccato like that?!

  • @StradAmatiViolin -- its a technique called riccochet...basically its a throw of the bow which allows a controlled bounce. a bow will bounce naturally that with practice you can control.

  • @eboyinc Oh I tried that need to practice. :P

  • @eboyinc can you make a tutorial video about ricchochet

  • @kaynewest1995 -- hi, thanks for your request. i'm just a student and i'm sure my technique isn't refined enough to be teaching it. i'll send you a link for a good teaching video.

  • @eboyinc thx but the video explain not how to do riccochet like the mendelssohn cadenza

  • @eboyinc but i think you can make a video with the basics of the mendelssohn cadenza ricchochet part!

  • very beautiful...BRILLIANT

  • @MagicalTalesOfWolves -- thanks!!!!

  • Beautiful!!!

  • thanks!!!

  • Very clear sound from that violin. You're playing keeps getting better and better. Is it possible to make a video of the beginning of that same song?

I would love to hear you play.

  • This violin is amazing! You playing is, as always, awsome.

  • hey thanks! the violin is fantastic.

  • the old fiddle has a nice bottom sound, any idea what year and where

  • Augh, eboyinc, your videos absolutely make my day. Gorgeous instrument and playing. Thanks so much for always sharing these!

  • thanks for commenting...i'm really glad you're enjoying our videos :D

  • I take more time on the first chords, but this sounded great!

  • Are you kidding? This guy is an amazing violinist, and judging from your videos, i don't think you're the best judge. I believe in voicing criticism when it comes from a knowlegeable player. I'd love to see you post your version of this cadenza with your version of the chords for comparison.

  • thanks for your comments and support. i like getting the whole range of comments, and i don't think that ptreffz's level disqualifies him to have an opinion. i welcome the interest in violins and music...that's most important, i think :D

  • I completely agree that both siblings that play on this channel are much better than I am! I was trying to voice my interpretation on the piece, not claiming that the way I play it is the correct way. I'm sorry if my comment came off as critical, I was only giving a different view on how this piece can be played.

  • hi, in truth, i don't think i would ever play this piece the same way twice. i enjoy trying different approaches, different intepretations, new ideas, some good, some not so good. i can tell that you have the same artistic viewpoint and that is a good think for a violinist. my sister and i welcome all comments; we're musicians and we should share our thoughts and definately stick together. thanks for your comments.

  • hey good job guys! i have been trying to learn that bowing for a while now, on and off, but i have not been able to get it down =\. 5 stars for your vid! :P

  • hey thanks....keep working on the bwing...you'll get it.

  • THIS was Absolutely AMAZING ! you really will be great one day with your sister as well :]

  • hey thanks...i'll settle for being able to play a piece (any piece) well...two times in a row : /

  • ur great and awsome.... love..love..

  • whoa, thanks so much!!!

  • Wow, that was amazing! I wish I could play like that...

  • glad you liked it....thanks!!!

  • Some how this reminds me of mario ^^

    I LOVED IT!

I can't do anything like that without it being extremely messy, Bravo/a

  • thanks!!!

  • You sound great with every violin

  • hey thanks so much!!!

  • I sounds like Mendelssohn's, not Tchaikovsky's. However, you're freakin' amazing.

  • yep, mendelssohn...thanks!!! glad you liked it :D

  • OMG! You just keep on amazing me! This is nothing short of fantastic. Your playing is magical and this violin is also really superb!

  • hey thanks...this violin is very special. totally amazing to play on it.

  • I second that:D These two are phenoms in the making:D
