@StradAmatiViolin -- its a technique called riccochet...basically its a throw of the bow which allows a controlled bounce. a bow will bounce naturally that with practice you can control.
@kaynewest1995 -- hi, thanks for your request. i'm just a student and i'm sure my technique isn't refined enough to be teaching it. i'll send you a link for a good teaching video.
Are you kidding? This guy is an amazing violinist, and judging from your videos, i don't think you're the best judge. I believe in voicing criticism when it comes from a knowlegeable player. I'd love to see you post your version of this cadenza with your version of the chords for comparison.
thanks for your comments and support. i like getting the whole range of comments, and i don't think that ptreffz's level disqualifies him to have an opinion. i welcome the interest in violins and music...that's most important, i think :D
I completely agree that both siblings that play on this channel are much better than I am! I was trying to voice my interpretation on the piece, not claiming that the way I play it is the correct way. I'm sorry if my comment came off as critical, I was only giving a different view on how this piece can be played.
hi, in truth, i don't think i would ever play this piece the same way twice. i enjoy trying different approaches, different intepretations, new ideas, some good, some not so good. i can tell that you have the same artistic viewpoint and that is a good think for a violinist. my sister and i welcome all comments; we're musicians and we should share our thoughts and definately stick together. thanks for your comments.
hey good job guys! i have been trying to learn that bowing for a while now, on and off, but i have not been able to get it down =\. 5 stars for your vid! :P
How do you do staccato like that?!

Very clear sound from that violin. You're playing keeps getting better and better. Is it possible to make a video of the beginning of that same song?
I would love to hear you play.
