  • We can talk and preach and argue and fight about rights, truth, liberty and happiness all we want, but the Native Americans already had it down thousands of years before the Europeans showed up and decided to take over. We could have learned from these remarkable people, but chose a darker path.

  • @shadowolfblue Then get the fuck off native land and go back to Europe.

  • @MyHealingSoul I feel sorry for cowards like you. You stand for nothing and attack those who've not trespassed against you. You're a sad spirit. I do hope you find peace within yourself somewhere.

  • BUFFY IS HOT

  • @futuristfood I was just thinking that. she redefines hottness for me.

  • @korneliss this is a good thing.

  • @korneliss Looking at her not in motion, she is not hot. But when she moves, even pushing 70, she beats out Raquel Welch. I hope she maintains her vibrancy for years to come.

  • @walterofansonia hhehe she looks better than some 40 yr olds!

  • This song is GREAT! I'm finding I'm wanting to share it widely (Facebook, e-mail to friends). Thank you, Q!

  • I want to hear more of this song, by HER, on American airwaves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is spot-on!

  • This amazing human being has inspired me since about 1971 and continues to do so today.....Her latest music is exceptional to say the least.

  • During all these years she has kept her integrity and her anger and her joy. This is so rare.

  • She's too cute. I have many of her albums on cd. My favorites are "MOONSHOT"(1972)and "ILLUMINATIONS"(1969)

  • Ah, Ms. Buffy ... where fierce tenderness meets indomitable sass & strength. One of the truest lodestars and brightest lights in my firmament...

ill msg you when i find out! :)

  • I saw Buffy sing in 1969 ever since then I love and respect her her music and message goes dep into the heart

  • I met her as well. If you are lucky enough to catch another gig - hand around after the show. She comes out to sign!! She is so lovely, talked freely and let me take her hand. Someone who gives her talent and herself to the world for whoever wants it.

  • Saw Buffy at wolverhampton on sunday she blew me away great night.

  • Steve, I was there at Wulfrun Hall too. What an amazing night! That woman is totally stunning. First met her in 1976 when she was expecting her son, Cody. She's a real feisty lady and her music has given me decades of joy. Thank goodness she's in the world for all to hear if only they have ears to listen.

  • I cant stop talking about the gig i just loved it, i really hope she visits the uk again soon.

  • Me too. Knowing our luck though, it might be a long wait. The last time I got lucky was in 1992 when I was able to chat with Buffy for half an hour in between sound checks and concert at Hammersmith Odeon, London. As ever, she was full of grace and radiates a very special warmth.

  • Two nights ago in Glasgow, brilliant, she brought the house down at the Fruit Market, Queen of Celtic Connections. Where does this girl get it from!

  • At the moment she's on tour - am going to see her in Basingstoke, tomorrow, Sunday 24th check out various other venues in the UK and Europe. Don't miss out!!!

  • WOW, Buffy!!!! Where are you and what are you doing? I want more, more, more!

  • Wonderful. Am going to see Buffy in Glasgow in 27th Jan.

  • Such a tiny woman is physical stature, yet such a powerhouse!

  • I like it very much. Just one question, what mean Keshagesh?

  • 'keshagesh' means greedy guts...it's what u call a little puppy who eats his own and wants everybody else's too.

  • Thank you :)

  • good message...great song! Clearly not the best live version....her vocals sound a bit tired. I saw her live at Massey Hall in 2008 and she was wonderful!

  • WOW I love her so much she changed my life..

  • So beautiful, intelligent & musically articulate!!!

"Now it's all spyware, now it's all income tax"... Telling it like it is!!!

  • Happy New Year from South Dakota! I think it's true that no matter what happens, art is bound to ask the important questions.

  • happy new year from sunderland in the north east of england have a peaceful one!

  • It's beenso many years and she just keeps up with new material. I am speachless as to what to say when it comes to her work. Many years now that I have listened to her and many more to come. lov yeah Buffy...

  • the voice of the silent, keep singing

  • Beautifully stated! Her truth radiates through the ages! God bless her.

  • she was and still is mind blowing and open up hearts

  • so so powerful

  • Buffy is awesome - please come to Australia.

    Saskia

  • welcom in paris, france buffy in feb 2010

  • I am going to meet her in Northern Ontario this weekend. I have waited forty years ...I am so nervous and so proud...

  • So, how'd it go?

  • @TheHonda550 Isn't she just the nicest person in the world? :D I saw her 2 days ago and I cried, I never heard anything as beautiful as her voice! After the concert I got to meet her too and she was so friendly! Love her! :')

  • @TheHonda550 where is she gonna be?

  • Just saw her in NYC - she was mind blowing. What an amazing artist. It's a pity the majority of America supports meaningless artists. gillhiscott - very well put and I agree :)

  • The studio version is better - and she gave a live stunning performance in London recently. But with regards poopy please don-t come and make comments if you don't like her singing - she sings with an intense emotion which isn't for everyone - she's either in your soul or you just don't get it. For some of us no-one else can come close.

  • she looks andsounds great, but some of the background sounds are too muted in this performance, the studio album version sounds better imho...

i like her "mob voice" at 2:05 this song is about fighting the NWO. anyone wonder who broke the Indian land treaties and then bought up all their mineral-rich lands for a pittance?

  • Comment removed

  • ColtraneGilg, how old are you exactly? I'm curious. Are you about eighteen? Have you read anything about the history of political activism in this country? How about the history of folk music? Know anything about American Indians and their history of activism? Ever read about any of this? Or read anything? Finally- what is with the personal insults about appearance? Ever heard of manners? Respect of elders? Sad to see such ignorance and rudeness.

  • Am awestruck by this womans eloquence X

  • Wow, Ms. Ste. Marie hasn't lost a step, voice or motion! Love it.

  • thilady is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fabuloso!! Buffy as always rocks better than any other. Seizmic performance as was her London concert last week. If you aint heard it yet lash out your dollars or pounds or whatever on the new CD. The best new release in a long old time.

  • Ah, there it is! She sang this at Gage Park in Hamilton in June, and I really liked it but couldn't remember the name.

I was never a big Buffy fan, but after seeing her live, I have to say, I like her a lot more now. She was funny, charming and full of energy! Her voice has aged wonderfully and it's nice to see she still has stories to tell.

  • The beautiful sound of resistance! Join the joyous struggle.

  • I want to stand in solidarity with my Huron /Ojibwa Brothers and Sisters for clean water rights. They want to build a dump on traditional Anishinabe territory. It is a rally about saving this water, this land for future generations

  • My husband won't let me protest (said he wont bail me out) at Site 41 in Tiny Township Conc. 2 in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada even though there is protest by First Nations of Lake Simcoe, Couchiching and by all those around Georgian Bay, Ontario today as of July 25th 2009.

  • My ex-girlfriend forbade me from engaging in civil disobedience during the demolition of the South Central Farm here in Los Angeles back in '06. It was very upsetting for me to have to stay out of it, and I still resent it. It's not like I want to confront the police--they scare under most circumstances--but how else do we ever get any justice?

  • Awesome.

  • I agree! Buffy is the best!

  • Just saw her live. Amazing. What a wonderful woman.

  • THIS is lead track on her new album " Running for the Drum"- go make her number one!!!!

  • will see her at mariposa folk festival in 2 weeks.

  • Buffy Sainte-Marie is the greatest of them all! And always has been. She writes brillantly and her melodies are incredible. Plus she really ROCKS! Peter

  • Go Buffy!

    Have a great tour.

  • I loved this song I don´t think she sounds tired, infact at 68 years old she sounds full of energy, and that voice still powerful and stunning, hey and she looks great too...

  • I find it unfortunate that Buffy is all to often lumped in the same category as other Canadian female artists like Anne Murray and Rita McNeill. Not to take anything away from those fine artists, but Buffy has always been More. More active, More political, More lyrical, and quite frankly, More Canadian. She deserves far more attention from us as Canadians

That there are people living in our country that don't know who Buffy Ste-Marie is, SHOULD make us all try to change that fact.

  • I wouldn't judge Buffy's current work by this radio spot. She sounds tired. Not typical at all for this powerful amazing woman. Listen to her cd. It's incredible. Buffy is the best!

  • I agree. I just listened to the video of this song, No No Keshagesh, and it blew me away--the same way she did over 30 years ago when I saw her on tv singing Sweet Little Vera. She, along with Joni Mitchell, are my two shining stars (and Joan Baez completes my trinity). Is there something in Canada's water that spawns so much talent?! LOL

  • The lady is a treasure.

  • She's still great and blows away any of these pop tart princesses today. I've seen her live this past summer , met her and recently bought her new album. Shes an absolutely beautiful person and her lyrics are still powerful and relevent. Woman like Buffy are who are young girls should be looking up to.

  • I can only imagine what kind of music you're currently into to comment like that (rolls eyes)... get outta that coma, human!

  • Are you kidding? you wouldn't tell that to Bob Dylan or the Rolling stones, why should she? She's still got it!!
