@H0WLYl No, I don't think that is that is the case. You have to heat up the wax more even after it melts for a few minutes. My science teacher did this, and he said it was a 'Don't try this at home' experiment, so I don't suggest trying it unless it's totally controlled. He even had a kid hold the fire extinguisher just in case, and for obvious reasons, and he also had all the kids step back from where the flame would shoot, too. I was sitting right next to him though.
Did it ignite without any external flame?!

i've been trying this experiment for quite some time, but it doesn't work. I think my flame isn't hot enough for the gas to form.
