  • I thought normal criminals killed his parents....

  • 0:11 - youuuuuuuuuu IDIOT!!...

  • My problem with Ledger's Joker is that he was more of a sociopath instead of a psychopath.

  • @micahman3000 I don't think you have your definitions straight there. You need to look up "psychopath". Sociopaths aren't criminally psychotic. I mean, psychopaths aren't always either, but... well, trust me, Ledger's Joker was a psycho. Nicholson's didn't have any real, diagnosable psychotic condition... not that he wasn't crazy.

  • Wait, wait, wait, I thought Batman's parents died from thugs, why'd the say Joker killed them as a kid he didn't go rotting till after he fell in the asid stuff

  • @softfishy Just watch the movie. You'll understand. And it's "acid".

  • @bigfatcarp93

Thanks for correcting me, I knew I spelt that wrong when i wrote it,

  • THIS is how you beat up a bad guy

  • People are just too fucking stubborn to admit that Heath Ledger was an amazing joker. Theyll hate on TDK any way they can, im sorry but the fight scene in TDK was way better than this and i loved this movie but i prefer the Ledger Joker.

  • @xunit94 I don't hate the Dark Knight, personally, but my goodness is it overrated. I mean seriously, it's like onw of those movies where NO ONE can criticise it without rebuke.

I mean, yes it's a great movie, but it's not without it's flaws. I guess that's the problem I have with it.

  • Even though this is old,I love it

  • Mr. IPON PRESS

  • joker didnt kill his parents :P and the joker is actually a capable fighter

  • @cowbellphil

by his i mean batman's. lol

  • is it jsut me or does the scene at 1:35 seem to look more realistic then most scenes with the camera angle like that

coloring especially seems to match better with realism opposed to newer movies that have high contrast with the glow effect

  • I'm not sure this can be called a fight; Batman just beats the shit out of the Joker.

  • hahahahaha lend ya a "hand"..i get it..

  • Call me crazy, but to me, Keaton might just be the superior Batman. He plays him so effortlessly. However, Bale's Bat has a depth that wasn't established in this picture. Yeah, pretty tough call tho.

  • @dallasbagley I'd call you crazy if you said anyone BUT Keaton was the best.

  • i still think this suit is the best batsuit of all

  • Funny thing is, you don't wanna hit as much when he put on the glass. Ps what the heck, since when did batbrains kill people?

  • @ZOMBIETH44

In the begining, Batman carried a gun and shot people. Yes the original Batman in the 1930's was a very dark superhero.

  • Spot the crash pad at 1:15!

  • I hate to add into the never ending debate of which movie was better but Nolan's film had actual chemistry and equal tension between batman and joker, where in this one they never had much screen time or dialog together.

  • In that case, they were, "excuse me..."

  • You stupid punks are making me sick. Yes, Batman does fully say," Excuse Me, Haveyou ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?" I can hear assholes... I responded to that one person because they asked what the first couple of words were

  • Batman technically didn't kill joker, he grappled him to the gargoyle, it broke and the joker fell, yet nolan's let's ra's die in a train crash. Either way both bat mans are directly responsible for the death of the main villain. Both had a chance to save their enemy and didn't.

  • the biggest issue that I have when people ask me which joker is better is this, Jack Nicholson plays the joker, as a joker. He's funny, but you know he's still really bad. Ledger plays him as extremely creepy, but in a way that the joker should be. So I think both play the joker differently, but they both do it in the best way they could.

  • you wouldn't hit a guy with glasses

  • I always wondered where the Heath Ledger Joker learned to fight so well. It seems like he's the best fighter in the Nolan universe underneath Batman and Ra's Al Ghul. Did he train with the League of Shadows too but have to leave early?

  • @ThePinkMan Joker was never a match for Batman. He only got the upper hand in the end fight because of dogs and a malfunction in Batman's sonar system.

  • @laifalbert That's why I said best UNDERNEATH Batman and Ra's Al Ghul. Batman is virtually untouchable in hand-to-hand combat except when fighting Ra's Al Ghul. The Joker also seems to have a distinct advantage over everyone except Batman. Although he can give him trouble in the right circumstances, as you stated.

  • EXCUSE ME, HAD YOU EVER DANCED WITH DE DEVIL IN THE PALE MOON LIGHT?

  • "Lol! What are you laughing at?!"

lol how psychotic is that. saying that to a gargoyle statue.

  • Do you have any idea how much it would fucking hurt to have your head bounced off a huge church bell like that?

  • thanx guys quit telling me what it means

  • THANX GUYS 4 TELLING ME WHAT BATMAN SAID

  • wow at 3:41 nickelson got abit of a hamil laughter

  • I just noticed after all these years, if you look carefully, *right* at 1:16, when Joker falls off-screen you can see the corner of the big blue safety mattress he (or his stunt double) lands on pop up on the very bottom left side of the screen! I keep seeing this on Blu ray at my local Wal Mart but I don't know what's stopping me from getting this classic well executed piece of cinematic fare. I really like the vast majority of Director Tim Burton's films too!

  • Lovely Kim Basinger.

  • I luv the way Joker hits the bell and bounces back into another Batman punch.............. hilarious.

  • Hardly a fight but funny though.

  • You idiot!

  • Some say it's unfair to put down the Burton Batman films in comparsion to Nolan, but at least, Nolan's fight scenes were better cherographed instead of this one sided bore fest, and oh yeah Tim Burton kinda forgot one thing ... BATMAN DOES NOT KILL, yeah Burton should read source material, He's admited he never read a single comic...

  • he says "excuse me, have you ever danced with the devil under the pale moonlight?"

  • Man, best Batman ever :x

  • You are not spelling correctly @SuperSmackdown2010! It's, "excuse me."

  • Lend you a hand haha Lend you a hand

  • The joker is my favorite villain of all time, he makes jokes out of the most serious situations, which pisses batman off.

come to think of it, we all have a bit of joker in us.

  • Yea one on one Batman would kick Joker's ass in under 2 mins for sure.

  • Shame Batman wasn't this tough with the black guy earlier!

  • @JVson002 - yeah what was the deal with the black dude earlier? He was like Marvin Hagler.

  • @JVson002 Well bodyguards are supposed to be stronger then leaders

  • I always loved this fight between Batman and Joker more, ya The Dark Knight may have a more "action-packed" fight but honestly I pay more attention to this because the fact that Joker is the one who killed Batman's parents makes it all much more of an emotional climax, you have that extra incentive to want to see Batman stop the Joker.

  • @woollybully100

Yes very interesting i should say. What did you think of Mark Hamill?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Greatest Joker laugh ever (this is not up for debate) and his voice is what I imagine when I read the comics. He's my second favorite Joker after Nicholson (but its REALLY close), in my opinion Mark Hamill has the same aspect to him that Nicholson has (and is what I like about them) they have all of the Joker qualities, there's range in the character, ya he's a killer, creepy, genius, they are both also really funny which I feel is an important part to the Joker.

  • @woollybully100

What do you think of John Dimaggio in Batman Under the Red Hood as Joker?

  • @Johnlindsey289 I've only seen clips here and there on youtube but I was really impressed. His laugh wasn't quite as good as Mark Hamill's but still was pretty good. All in all I think he could be a worthy successor to Mark Hamill since he's retiring from the role apparentely. John did a really great job with adding the comedy into the same scene where he was doing some terrible like beating Robin with the crowbar or lighting the gangsters on fire. He's made me want to watch the whole film.

  • thumbs up if u think this fight of batman vs joker is better than the fight in the dark night

  • Comment removed

  • @shivanebangkok2008 well joker didnt fight batman in this he did one punch that had no affect but yeah the fight scenes in the dark knight with joker werent great the camera just kept switching between cuts really fast

  • @shivanebangkok2008 This wins by default, Dark Knight Joker and Batman barely fought hand-to-hand

  • @shivanebangkok2008 i agree nolans batman films suck for action the fight scenes in the dark knight were completely crap and you couldnt even see what was going on.

tim burtons batman is so much better.

  • @shivanebangkok2008 no, this sucks just as much as the TDK fight. If you want to see a PROPER Batman vs Joker fight, check out Adam West vs Ceasar Romero

  • 6 people have danced with the devil in the pale moonlight.

  • "WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHIN' AT?!"

  • God I love this movie. Check out my channel.

  • much better film than batman returns

  • 0:01

what did he say please i need to know??????

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 he said, "excuse me..."

  • @meetyouthere no.....after he said exuse me

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 It's, "excuse me." You asked me in the first place, so pls don't tell me that I was wrong. That wasn't neccessary.

  • @meetyouthere no.he didnt just say excuse me he said something else too

  • @SuperSmackdown2010... I have a Dolby Digital Theater in my suite, as well as many different programs SSmackdown, as well as the normal subtitles, plus many programs that I can run. If you mean that little noise you hear at the beginning, my enhanced subtitle says "Pigeon fluttering," & Batman just says, "Scuse Me..." I don't know what you are hearing on your computer, but youve driven me nuts trying to figure out what you might be hearing... All I can say is there is NO ADDITIONAL words u hear.

  • @meetyouthere LOL Successful troll is successful.

  • @meetyouthere he means AFTER batman said excuse me! you idiot! btw @SuperSmackdown2010 he said "but you have a dance with the devil in the moons light"

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 He said "have you ever danced with the Devil in the pale moonlight?"

  • @meetyouthere he said excuse me you are dancing with the devil in pale moonligth

  • @meetyouthere he also said have you ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?!.....PUNCH!!!!!!!!!!

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 EXCUSE MEis what he says..lol

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight, the same line joker used when he killed his parents and tried to kill him earlier

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 he said "excuse me, you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight" which is what he said when he killed his parents and again when he thought he killed him

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 he says "have you ever dance with the devil in the full moon light"

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 he said excuse me have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light?

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 i think its, "Excuse me, you ever dance with the devil on a pale moon light?"

  • eexcuse me if your ever dance with that girl in da spot light as a joke and batman punched him

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 there u go

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 he said excuse me....ur dancing with the devil in the pale moonlight

  • @BrandosMs12 Excuse me? , have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moon light?

  • @SuperSmackdown2010 EXCUSE ME, HAD YOU EVER DANCED WITH DE DEVIL IN THE PALE MOON LIGHT?

  • I Remember the saturdays in the channel 4 of my country 7PM is the hour of a batman movie

  • For crying out loud will you fanboys stop argueing over which is better with the nolan and the burton franchises. They both kickass in ver y different ways, the only thing bad about the batman franchise is when joel schumacher (i think thats how it's spell it) toook over and raped the franchise. Man even the adam west virsion was better but thats in a league of its own anyway.

  • @StupidBoyComics

BATMAN FOREVER was good and is only guilty by association with BATMAN & ROBIN and hot featuring Keaton/Burton. To me the modern Batman films stand at a strong 5/6 (Dark Knight Rises will probably be good as well).

  • @SLPIFan In my opinion batman forever was just as worse as Batman & Robin, mainly cos of the homo erotic suit and the introduction of Robin. Not trying to piss you off, it's just my opinion.

  • @StupidBoyComics

That's fine, and I'm not the one to easily get pissed off over things like this, but I honestly think that the flaws of the film are blown up out of the proportion that they're actually present and how much effect they have on the film. (Traits stronger in its sequel) Take the homo-erotic suit for example. All it is (in this one) is nipples. It's not like they're ever that noticeable or the focus of a scene, and besides them the suit still looks very true to the Burton films.

  • @StupidBoyComics I agree. I feel that Batman Forever just wasn't done right. First off they made Two-Face like the joker. All making jokes and acting silly when Two-face is the most grim villain in the comic. They even made Riddler as gay as possible. I know Shumacher is an open homosexual but don't put it in your movies. The only reason Burton and Keaton weren't in the third was because conservative parents felt that Batman Returns was to dark. No shit, it's supposed to be dark.

  • @Donnymac yeah the green spandex didn't help. The riddler is supposed to where a green suit, and that is just like WTF.

  • Ledger vs Nicholson =/= Coke vs Pepsi

  • Comment removed

  • One thing I've noticed is that despite the more realistic tone of Nolan's movies, Nolan's Batman shows more mercy, I mean jeezus Batman just punched Joker off the top of a building without hesitation.

  • @Skep155 Yeah but in Nolan movie Joker didn't kill his paents. This time it's personal!

  • What the fuck is with people with Ledger vs Nicholson and Nolan vs Burton? Why would you argue who did the better job? They're completely different movie series, with completely different characters and goals!

  • I love how they pulled the whole "You knock me off a ledge *looks over* only to be ambushed by me" move twice in less than 5 minutes in this part of the movie

  • the bat!

  • You idiot!!! >:<

  • "You IDIOT!!!"

  • you would not hit a guy with glasses would you? XD

  • i would take this batman and batman returns over Nolans batmans anyday.

  • Comment removed

  • @noirkitten I understand how how adaptations work. They are transitions into film. Its just that in the Nolan movies the transition is smooth and exciting.

  • @noirkitten Joker being fat old and short, Batman being short scrawny and old starting his career and killing people, or Harvey Dent being a black guy with a thick mustache who is irrelevant to the story are hardly nitpicks, my friend lol...nitpicks are the petty things you said c'mon...That's like saying a scawny chinese guy with a muhawk being cast as Hercules in a Hercules movie with no plot is just a minor nitpick.

  • @noirkitten I don't remember Batman in the comics or animated series being a short, scrawny old guy who wears glasses, has an afro, & kills people. I don't remember the Joker being a chubby, old guy who was a gangster & killed Wayne's parents.

  • @KittyKranker Bale was 29, Keaton was 40.

  • Awsome Batman, Best Joker.

  • Love Joker´s "Oops, I nearly fell off"-face at 1:55!

  • Comment removed

  • U wouldnt hit a guy with glasses on would ya? haha LMAO Jack Nicholson was the shit!

  • they dont make em like they used to

  • Worst batman best joker

  • @superguy2111 dude... SHUT UP! if you are saying that Keaton was the worst Batman one you dont know shit about Batman and two you dont know shit about acting are you telling me that Clooney was better dude come on FAIL!!

  • You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses would ya?

    xD

  • I love the laugh at 1:23

  • WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHIN AT? HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • batman has rules, not to ever kill anyone, so he broke his own rule at the end of the this film by killing the joker, or do those rules only apply to batman begins and the dark knight? (and tbh this film is a true version of batman, gotham was always ment to be dark and gothic, and the joker was ment to have waky and stupid props, and batmans suposed to have the awesome utility belt)

  • @magebang I think that you confused Batman and Superman,Superman had rules to not kill anyone, but Batman believes that the end justifies the means.

  • @frazolina20 Wrong. Read a batman comic before making blind assumptions.

  • @magebang technically he didnt kill him

  • @magebang I don't remember Batman in the comics or animated series being a short, scrawny old guy who wears glasses, has an afro, & kills people. I don't remember the Joker being a chubby, old guy who was a gangster & killed Wayne's parents. Or Harvey Dent being a black guy with a huge thick mustache who is not a crusading DA. Or Gordon being a fat useless, bumbling old man. Or Penguin a sewer dwelling mutant or Catwoman a zombie...So no this not the true version of Batman. Watch Batman Begins.

  • idk i dont think jack nicholson was that good as the joker, i really dont, am i the only one who feels like that? it was jsut jack nicholsons antics in a joker costume.....

  • This is actually a good movie. But I can't enjoy it , because it's crap compared to the Dark Knight.

  • where did Joker get the glasses in the first place?

  • @95Godfather He is the Joker, he has all kinds of tricks and props.

  • You killed my parents... I made you? You made ME first...

  • I love 1:25 its incredible

  • I always forget that Jack is the Joker in this part. I don't know why.

  • @swedishfish110193 maybe for similar reasons that I forget that "House" is hugh laurie. combine some unique cosmetics with character acting, and the audience gets an out-of-body experience.

P.S. Batman got the jump on him right at the beginning, because he was still in a "A blowjob? Already??" daze.

    ...But it's true!#$%

  • What the comic book purists fail to realize is Tim Burton is an artist first and foremost. This is his interpretation of Batman, one that exists in his dark mind. To Burton Batman is essentially a vengeance driven vigilante, where as in the comics the character leans more over to the side of justice with his "do not kill" rule. I think this is a unique look at the Dark Knight if he ever did cross that line.

  • @Nagneto Burton used influences from the first year of Batman comics. When he was really a cold hearted vigilante, and whatnot.

  • George Clooney was the worst Batman. Keaton, Kilmer, and Bale are the Best.

  • KEATON IS BATMAN

  • WOAHH!! Don't bugs get in his mouth? lol

  • I can't fucking hear Keaton when he speaks, speak up you loon

  • Lol...dont think that I didnt try

  • ...Mark Hamill is the best Joker. End.

In all seriousness, they're both good. And if people think Heath's Joker is the only Joker there is, they honestly aren't Batman fans.

  • @xXMikotoNakadaiXx Its not the only, but its the best! :D

  • @zmaj54 Heath's Joker was a good Joker, but it was far from the best.

  • @xXMikotoNakadaiXx Heath's Joker was realistic, he was believeable, he was modern. This Joker is cartooney, unbelievable, and even in his own time I doubt he was seen as being modern. Hamill's Joker is actually a cartoon and all Hamill does is the voice so you cant compare him to the live action Jokers. But seeing as how youre a anime fan I can see why you would like the cartoony Jokers more. :D

  • @zmaj54 Um, I LIKED Heath's Joker. But you people make him out to be the best Joker simply because he came off as all gritty and "realistic". He's a psychotic clown for christ's sakes.

You obviously haven't watched The Animated Series if you write off Hamill's Joker as "cartoony" just because that version of the Joker is animated. In many ways, TAS Joker was one of the darkest Jokers in any Batman continuity. Hamill can pull off both a whimsical villain Joker and a chilling psychotic Joker.

  • Search up Pgirt's videos. That type of Joker voice fits ANY version of the Joker. That's how good Hamill was.

  • @xXMikotoNakadaiXx Gee I guess you havent seen the Dark Knight then. The heath joker was psychotic but on a realistic level, THATS why people like him and consider him the beast!! HE TOOK THE JOKER AND PUT HIM INTO OUR WORLD!! I never said Hamill's joker was cartoony I said Nicholson's Joker was cartoony. What I said was TAS Joker was a cartoon so you cant compare him to a live action Joker, because your comparing only voice acting to well.. ACTING!!

  • @zmaj54 When I said, "...Mark Hamill is the best Joker. End.", I was JOKING. Hence the next line starting with "in all seriousness".

Heath's Joker was realistic, yes. But guess what? If the best things in Batman were the realistic stuff, you're better off watching some other movie.

And I take offense at the comment to my liking of anime and liking anything "cartoony". That has nothing to do with anything. I like realism just as much as anything, and cartoons can be realistic too.

  • @xXMikotoNakadaiXx I'm not saying I hate the Dark Knight's interpretation. I LOVED the movie. However, seeing all the people rag on Nicholson's Joker just because it wasn't the same as Heath's is getting extremely annoying. It's a different interpretation and required different kind of acting for our beloved psychopathic clown.

I only reference Hamill because he was the best of both worlds in that respect.

  • @zmaj54 Heath's Joker isn't beloved because its "realistic". He's beloved because its an utterly amazing and sinister performance. I'm sick of hearing the realistic shit. That's what fuels the haters to ridicule you and put Batman 89's Joker on a pedestal even though its just mediocre.

  • @xXMikotoNakadaiXx The animated series and The Dark Knight Joker(s) are the best interpretations.

  • @xXMikotoNakadaiXx I know people who are frothing at the mouth Batman comics obsessed loons who know Batman inside and out and are in their late 20s/30s and they LOVE ledger Joker. Its the teens now trying to go against the grain and assume Batman 89 is better because its "old" to them must mean its better. Most of them have only seen clips of it on you tube. Theyre just trying to be rebellious.

  • @KevsHardLemonade Um, I never said there's anything wrong with liking Ledger's Hoker. He's a good Joker.

And hipster teens liking it should have no bearing on the quality of the movie itself. Besides, fuck, the only people that would judge it with nostalgia goggles are ADULTS that watched it when they were young. That only makes the most sense.

I love it how people instigate arguments with me whenever I'm being neutral. God forbid I defend different tastes.

  • WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING AT! lol

  • You can just feel the pain of him smashing into the bell!!! Lol..

  • If you watch the new batman cartoon you will see Joker is the same as in the Dark Knight. Has the trench coat and long hair with a deep creepy voice. Jack Joker is an older version. Heaths is a modern Joker. Each decade Joker would be different.

  • Best Batman! Best Joker! Best Batman Film! Nuff Said.

  • whats he saying after batman punches him in the stomach?

  • @FartMaster4000 The joker thinks of everything remember?

  • LOL "here, let me lend you a hand!"

  • This isn't the Joker, acts nothing like him.

  • @neomysterio what the hell are you talking about?

  • @saxonrox The Joker.

  • @neomysterio obviously...But I still cannot understand the logic behind your comment.

  • @saxonrox The same amount as you complaining about it.

  • "You wouldnt hit a guy with glasses"

    BAM

  • you...IDIOT!!!!! lol the best part of this scene

  • HOW THE FLIP DID THEY GET JACK NICHOLSON TO SMILE LIKE THAT?!?!?

  • @tencents6 The makeup people molded a copy of his biggest smile and then attached it to his face.
