@xmodrock According to his website, it's a C18--they're the engines you find in bulldozers, tugboats, Class combines, and Challenger farm tractors. It's one hell of a motor.
@6str8up - Souped up Caterpillar's and just a regular 18 speed Eaton. They don't shift past fifth gear; from what I've saw, they start in first, and go through the gears, and end up on the high side in fifth.
Dude, a cat engine puts out 500 HP FACTORY. I WORK ON THEM DAILY! This thing is NOT pushing 320 horse. They're moving 2000 HP, EASY. Know how much torque is required to move that semi that quick? ALOT. And with a diesel having roughly a 2:1 TQ to HP ratio, it's about 4-5K Ft Lb's of torque.
@bykashka75 God damnit you're a fucking idiot. Really are. You should have been a blowjob, you foreign fuck.
NO the head wouldn't get blown off. There is so much work done to these engines it isn't even funny. And nobody cares about torque?!? GOD DAMNIT!!
A semi RELIES on it's torque to move. That's why they use low RPM diesels, and not high RPM gassers, you fucknut. A diesel has a 2:1 TQ to HP ratio. Meaning for every one HP, two ft lbs of TQ are made.
@kmart641 Foreign fuck? If i compare myself to you, moron, you will be a greater cock sucking foreign piece of shit, the world ever saw. Thank you loser for spitting all over the place, no need to reply, we all get it- you need to get you head check by torque wrench.
What the fuck? What do you know about trucks? It's ALLL about torque. These trucks flipping to the right, that's what? HP? NOOO, you dipshit, that's 2000+ nm of torque hitting the driveshaft like hell!
@ManuelC572 first of all the language. Second, no need to drool all over the place. I was already explained! So, you are late for the party, but thanks anyway
@ManuelC572 Depends which drive shaft you're talking about. You can put a Formula One type of engine (18,000/min) in that truck with the same amount of HP but 1/10th of the torque and you'd end up with the same amount of torque at the drive shaft going to the axles.
If you talk about the drive shaft between the engine and the gear box then yes, you are right. That's what causes the torque twist. Because these engines produce a whole lot of torque.
These trucks makes me scared!
