it is a little big for a guitar, but really, Andy is a little shorter than you or I would've expected. I think his height means his talent gets concentrated.
hehehehe andy is a small guy too, so all guitars, specially Jumbo ones looks gigantic with him hehehe, this guy changed my mind toward music man... same feeling i had when i first listened to Rage Against The Machine, i feel glad that there are amazing people like him in the world, where the music seems all decadent there's always saviors o/
(2) he looked at me like i told him i was going to die the next day and said "oh crap...well...come with me, ill go get a guitar at a random stand and ill play you a song!"
he played "drifting" in front of 15-20 people and he dedicated it to me.
last summer, in montreal, i wanted to go see Andy Mckee live with don ross but it was sold out so i went to the meet and greet he was doing in the after noon at the simm (google it).
i waited till there wasnt anyone with him and went to tell him that i had discovered him on youtube, that he really inspired me but that i couldnt go to the show.
Imagine Andy sitting in the middle of an old amusement park, hunched over his guitar at dusk, playing this tune ......how long would it be before people start look over the fence curious to see where the sound is coming from and wander in forming a silent memorised crowd?.........
all the candyrat artists are verry down to earth! i saw Antoine and Craig D a few months ago and got to play a few licks with them after they signed my guitar and Antoine even gave me a few pointers and explained a technique of his to me! they are verry nice people
I think it's pretty awesome when people apply figurative language to music. "sort of as a metaphor for..." he said metaphor. I love the comparison and the song goes very well with it.
This is awesome, there's something about the harmony of the notes during the chorus that has a very good nostalgic feeling, very much like reflection of fond moments. It also compliments the return to the intro "A" section like peanut butter goes with jelly, or cereal to milk.
Holy Crap!!
Is Andy Mckee yea!!!

This was at a very small bar called just outside of San Antonio. I think maybe only 50-75 people were there. It wasn't promoted very well.

In Philly, he called it something akin to "Music for an Abandoned Amusement Park" - I thought it was rather fitting.

Yeah he says that in the video he was thinking about calling it "Music for a Vacant Amusement Park"
