  • beautiful music is universal never dies, it is up to the self to recognize and value its beauty. Can this even be compared to the recent lady gaga music?

  • خدا بیامرز جوونتر که بوده پس چی بوده. محشره

  • دمت گرم !! روحت شاد و یادت گرامی‌ استاد

  • amazing, beautiful. his playing is masterful, the way he "sits" on just a few notes and plays around them again and again without rushing to advance somewhere else - he is truly here and now. his movements are so fluent, hypnotising, yet not theatrical in a conscious way - it is simply the body language of the tar, which he speaks as if his mother was one.

  • شاهکاره واقعا...چیز دیگه ای نمی شه گفت

  • im only an average musician but to me he seems to play at a higher level then other tar players.just my opinion.

  • i want him to teach me the ways of the setar :')

  • Best Master.Thank you

  • من فکر نمی کردم از استاد شهنازی فیلم وجود داشته باشه

    این مربوط به چه سالیه؟

  • wow!

  • There is no relation between them.

  • مادر تار بود این علی اکبر خان خدایش بیامرزد

  • نه عزيز من ايشان پدر تار ايران بود نه مادر!

  • what is the gousheh he starts off with? up until he strikes the side when he plays. i must know its name, it is engraved in my heart

  • That is called "Bayat e Rajeh" in Esfahan mode. That's being originated from Bidad in Homayoun mode. You're right, it's so striking.

  • At the currently played part, the Gousheh he starts with, is called "Bayat-e-Raje".

  • He sounds as if he is in the same league with the Indian Ustad Ali Akbar khan. Sounded he was playing a melody only, which would be the equivelant of the Alaap in a Indian Raga. Imagine how beatiful it would if he were to play a Raga.

  • where do u think indian classical music came from?

  • Indian Classical Music like folk music has evolved through generations, and has matured within the last 100 or so years. It has clear signs of musical instruments traveling from Afghanistan, examples are: Sitar from Se Tar, Sarood from Robab, Tabla from Dhulak, Sarangi from Ghichak or Saarang.

  • DIVINE

  • As some of you may know the late Mr. Shahnazi was related to Mr Ebadi, the famous Setar player. Mr. Shahnazi spent most of his time teaching students and has trained many excellent tar players. He is best known for being a teacher than a performer but his performance is absolutely great as well.

  • it is the original music of great Iran which is really beautiful!! WOW...

  • Of course, he's not "Ustad Ali Akbar khan", the famous Indian musician.

Ali Akbar khan is his first-name and Shahnazi is his last name! The last name shows that he's from Iran, not India.

  • Yes.

If you check out his surname you would realize that his surname is SHAHNAZI. And that Indian musician's surname has no such a surname. Good Luck

  • WOW

  • This Ostad looks so relaxed and he is playing natural like flowing water streams down a into a pond. His technical virtuosity seems to be a natural part of his phrases and not a climax for applause. And his harmonic sense is mind blowing. What an artist.

  • A masterpiece,,, thank you for the upload

  • Love that tar! I want one!

  • I pray for peace between America and Iran. What beautiful music!

  • Aman!

  • Beautiful!

  • Bah bah, khodaee kardi Ostaad! Naaz-e shastet

  • anyone know the name of that instrument and how many strings it has?

  • Yes, it's called a tar. It is an ancient instrument from Persia.

From Wikipedia: The Persian tar used to have five strings. The sixth string was added to the tar by Darvish Khan. This string is today's fifth string of the Iranian tar. The Azerbaijani tar, designed by Sadigjan, has a slightly different build and has more strings. It is an essential component of the traditional Azeri mugham trio (see: Sazanda).

  • It's called "TAR" and has 6 strings tuned "CcGGcc" in aclassic form. the first 2 strings tuning vary. The body is usualy made of walnut wood.

  • the father of the guitar
