The Hebrew Misheberakh Mode? Is this mode a derivative of the HArmonic minor scale? Definitely doesnt sound like a major scale derivative! Very dark and mysterious!
@Arrow9100kj This same mode, still heard in Jewish Klezmer music today, can also be heard in a frgament of ancient Greek music called "Tecmessa's Lament" - in ancient Greece, this mode was known as the "Chromatic Phrygian Mode" - equivalent intervals as : DEFG#ABCD
@uboot1967 The concept of this album, is an exploration of musical modes from around the ancient world performed on replica lyres of the ancient world, not just the ancient Greek modes. However, the Hebrew Misheberakh mode can also be found in an example of ancient Greek music! It is called "Tecmessa's Lament"(recorded on "Musique de la Grece Antique")...coincindence, or evidence of an ancient cross-cultural exchange of musical ideas?
