  • good game

  • whoa nostalgia

  • Моя любимая игра в децтве)

  • I'm so happy to see that I'm not the only one who really liked this game. I forgot the title and found it today by chance while looking at other oldies.

  • lol remebered hating the green one-eyed worm that was invurnable

  • ::picks up jewel:: "OOH!"

  • Raiden is the only god of thunder^^

  • Did this game get the rights from Marvel?

  • omg! rembered it!

  • this game was pretty good!

  • This game could do with a XBLA/PSN remake. There are games like Zelda... And then, there's this one, which has much more emphasis on puzzling.

  • Oh yeah, I've made a zip archive of the soundtrack too. If anyone's interested, PM me.

  • Fucking love this game! I recently posted the entire soundtrack on my channel.

  • best game ever !

  • i completed this game 2 times i want the sequel (it exists) but i can't find it ,GREAT GAME !

  • The PC's answer to Zelda :)

  • What did Turbo mode do? I never found out :P

  • Turbo Mode speeds up the game-play (presumably by using having less graphic detail - therefore consuming less memory). Ideal for slower computers such as ones equipped with 286 and 386-based CPU processors (486 computers don't need Turbo Mode). :)

  • The music at the episode 1's main music was (is) great! Sounds were cool also. I remember my favorite sound was ''*SMACK!* -OH!''. Great times!

  • My brother, cousin and I use to play this game! We were such dorks!

  • Lol, love the sound effects. "OOH!" XD Looks fun

  • Did anyone else have the ValuSoft CD Browser?

  • This was an extremely fun game. And the script was hilarious, especially Odin's. Too bad the guy's playing in this video an idiot.

  • Oh and I beat all parts three time

The second part is the easiest!

  • i downloaded the game from dosmuseum, but my game has no music at all. it has sound effects like the hammer getting thrown around, but no music in the background. can you help me figure this out?

  • I think this is one of the best dos games... some of the puzzles were pretty challenging, and the game took a LONG time to beat, especially since there are 3 different episodes. I think I only ever managed to beat episode 3, then again I was only a kid when this game came out.

  • Most awesome

  • i remember playing this game when i was a kid !! i was so scared of the red things!!!

  • You have music in yours! Damn! When I download this game, the sound comes through, but the music doesn't play at all! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!

Speaking of which, I'll try your link and see if it works.

  • It is because it's adlib music and the sounds are soundblaster. You might have to give DosBox a whirl and see if it plays it ok.

  • oh God thank you! I've been trying to remember the name of this for years

  • this game was nice!

  • Reminds a bit of "ELF" on the Amiga, collect stuff, and do some puzzles...

  • Wow, this looks like something I'd have adored back in the day.

  • i loved this game!!!! lol it was so deliciously terrible and addicting!

haha i love the "ew" noise whenever he picked stuff up

  • Wonderful dos game!! I killed Jormangund, but it was a difficult task.

  • a very goooood game :D i finished it though it was very hard :O

  • Great game, I got all 3 episodes but Im just not bothered in finishing the other 2

  • Sweet! I remember this game, too. One of my favourite time-devourers...

I got stuck on one of the later puzzles, though -- a complicated field with a boulder which Thor had to push _and_ run alongside (to keep it between him and one of those insta-death eye-worms).

The "mweh!" sound from talking to people is also memorable, and all the characters are quite cute in their pixelly way. :)

  • @FydaDelacroix I remember that puzzle! There was threeish death eye things, and a twisty puzzle going from bottom left to bottom right. I remember getting through it once, and never again. So frustrating!

  • Hey i downloaded GOT and tried to play it in DOSBox but it says "Version information missing". What should i do?

  • fabio, I got that when I tried to play it from a different directory than the game itself (I typed "thunder\got" instead of just "got" to run the game). Try CDing into the right directory, maybe?

  • Awesome game but i never got close to beating the game.

  • underrated game

  • I still sometimes play this game on my old PC, it is awesome. It feels great to play this in DOS on a win 98 pc with an adlib sound card. I LOVE the music in this game, it is incredibly nostalgic. Occasionally I play this just to listen to the music.

  • Man it is so great to see this game again, I used to play this every day as a kid. It was definitly my favorite dos game of all time.. Seeing a great game like this brings back so many memories... I was wondering how do you open it with dosbox. Please help!

    -Matt

  • @mgerthoffer

    Install DOSBox.

Extract God of Thunder game to a new folder, such as C:\DOS\GOT

    Run DOSBox.

    Type: mount c c:\dos

    Type: c:

    Type: cd got

    Type: got

  • @ninpou90 thank you

  • I love this game I used to ahve it years ago, but I downloaded it recently its very hard though.

  • I love this game!!!

  • i love this game the music was awesome
