@bolo12951 It may be rough because you laid it on too dry. Too dry is not normal. Base should really be smooth when painted. The only thing that should cause a rough texture is your overspray, and that is tacked off once the base dries.

@eyewarnedyou Some new cars back in the day had paint recalls. Especially some of the Chevy cars. The clear coat was just too thin and they never had any UV protection in them.

im not sure if anyone has asked this b4 but i work for Ford in England doing accident repair work and the other day i painted this pegueot and the colour was called babylone red and after i done it all the laquar had poped and when i polished it all the poping had gone white and it showed up on the red paint, what is the cause of poping do you know?? thanks :)
@slayerx4life probably solvent pop,ie too much paint applied on the car between coats or put on bake to quickly...maybe the white spots was the polishing compound had gone into the popped laquer spots..
@gilesdrew1 thanks for the reply m8 :) yeah it was one of the 3 stage perals and i had to put 4 coats of undercoat on then bake it then put 2 more peral coats on top then 2 laquer coats, what i done in the end was painted it on a saturday then didnt bake it then on monday morning it hadnt poped :)

@Nosillla you dont just paint the car. there is a lot of prep work before painting. painting is actually the easier part of it all. if you dont prep right everything goes in the shitter

@nbtextremes No, This is base clear. Nothing is pre mixed. The only thing that is sorta pre mixed is Enamel paints, but you still need to mix in activator and reducer....Just no clear mixing.
@elgoose2003 I also colorsanded and buffed when you look at the AFTER video. I also teach that in my course in step-by-step detail so it is easy like 1-2-3 for you :)

They have automotive touch up paints, but spraying an entire car will be cumbersome.

@Nosillla you dont just paint the car. there is a lot of prep work before painting. painting is actually the easier part of it all. if you dont prep right everything goes in the shitter

@nbtextremes No, This is base clear. Nothing is pre mixed. The only thing that is sorta pre mixed is Enamel paints, but you still need to mix in activator and reducer....Just no clear mixing.

@elgoose2003 I also colorsanded and buffed when you look at the AFTER video. I also teach that in my course in step-by-step detail so it is easy like 1-2-3 for you :)

whats the stuff you use to cover the windows, lights, and all other accessories not getting painted?
and yeah.. once sanded back.. then primed with grey or white correct? then.. wet sand it after first clear coat has gone down.. and then do final clear coat for finished product?

All i have to say is I made a TON of money painting cars and I still do! Charge 4,500 for a paint job and finish it in a week while profiting $3,800. You are on the right track! Keep it up kid.
