Doris never appeared on Wednesday nights, 'italoman' (unless a smaller CBS affiilate aired her show via "delayed broadcast" on another night because they couldn't carry her in her scheduled time period). She appeared Tuesdays at 9:30pm(et), following "THE RED SKELTON HOUR", during her first season. In the fall of '69, she moved to Mondays at 9:30pm(et), right after "MAYBERRY R.F.D." ["HERE'S LUCY"after 1971], and stayed there until her series ended in 1973..
I loved this show and think remembering that it was on Wednesday nights. It's one of those shows that you almost forget nowadays that it ever existed: but there it was, for 5 or 6 years, I believe! :)
Children in shows are an anchor to a dingy; it just drags everything down, and it's unneccesary.

I never understood why in the first 3 seasons she had kids...the last two she's never had kids...it's not very consistent.

The DD show is great, I recommend it - all five season and two Specials too. I enjoy them.
