  • Children in shows are an anchor to a dingy; it just drags everything down, and it's unneccesary.

  • in sasons four and five the children were in privite school. The wig was not grey it was ash blond, the other colour was hidden honey. These are the facts. Doris wanted each season to have a different "look", a different twist... or venue

  • ohh i so love here

  • I never understood why in the first 3 seasons she had kids...the last two she's never had kids...it's not very consistent.

  • @whaleym

i agree and sometimes her wig was gray!

  • Doris never appeared on Wednesday nights, 'italoman' (unless a smaller CBS affiilate aired her show via "delayed broadcast" on another night because they couldn't carry her in her scheduled time period). She appeared Tuesdays at 9:30pm(et), following "THE RED SKELTON HOUR", during her first season. In the fall of '69, she moved to Mondays at 9:30pm(et), right after "MAYBERRY R.F.D." ["HERE'S LUCY"after 1971], and stayed there until her series ended in 1973..

  • So much fun !! I've just been watching the 5th

    season - really enjoying it.

    Thanks !

  • I loved this show and think remembering that it was on Wednesday nights. It's one of those shows that you almost forget nowadays that it ever existed: but there it was, for 5 or 6 years, I believe! :)

  • The DD show is great, I recommend it - all five season and two Specials too. I enjoy them.
